A government is the system by which a state or community is controlled. In the Commonwealth of Nations, the word government is also used more narrowly to refer to the collective group of people that exercises executive authority in a state. This usage is analogous to what is called an "administration" in American English. Furthermore, especially in American English, the concepts of the state and the government may be used synonymously to refer to the person or group of people exercising authority over a politically organized territory. Finally, government is also sometimes used in English as a synonym for governance.
In the case of its broad associative definition, government normally consists of legislators, administrators, and arbitrators. Government is the means by which state policy is enforced, as well as the mechanism for determining the policy of the state. A form of government, or form of state governance, refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government.

Upon release, the record peaked at number 101 on the UK Albums Chart. It reached number 158 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, as well as spending 73 weeks in the Billboard Independent Albums, peaking at number five.
"PDA", "NYC", "Obstacle 1" and "Say Hello to the Angels" were the singles from Turn On the Bright Lights, and a video was shot for each with the exception of "Say Hello to the Angels".
The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 29, 2011 for shipments of 500,000 copies.
A remastered version of the album was released in 2012 to commemorate its tenth anniversary. It featured additional material including demo recordings of several tracks, the bonus songs previously available on international releases and a DVD of live performances and music videos.

The term 2.0 originated with software versioning and refers to the second version of a computer program or standards. The trend to apply it to concepts other than programs started with Web 2.0. In this extended use, it suggests a significantly improved edition of the original concept, in particular in being responsive and adaptive to the needs of its users.

North Brother Island If you live in New York City you might have seen this island before. It is located between the Bronx and Rikers Island, and it is definitely off limits. The island has a long and sad history as a quarantine zone dating back to the 1880’s when a hospital dedicated to smallpox was built. The most famous patient on the island is without a doubt Typhoid Mary, the first human in the US to be identified as an asymptomatic carrier of typhoid fever. The remains of the quarantine hospital still stand strong, but the island has been taken over by dense brush and wildlife 5.The 1936 Olympic Village Regarded as the most infamous Olympic game...

One thing I like to do when traveling overseas is to pick an interesting theme and investigate this. One of those themes is I like to check out Brutalist architecture. For those unfamiliar, Brutalism became common - particularly in government buildings - during the 1950s-1970s. It is big, concrete and rugged. It is found all over the world, and although I've never visited them, particularly popular in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. It is also very widely hated and disliked. In 2014 I did a pretty short work trip to New York, London and Prague, but when I had a little bit of spare time I shot this stop motion movie of a few Brutalist buildings. It features the following - the AT&T; Long Lines Building at 33 Thomas Street, Žižkov Television Tower, Kips Bay Towers, University Vi...

With the help of social media, feedback reaches architects years before a building is even created. The result? Architecture that will do more for us than ever before. I've tried and tried to run and hide
To find a life that's new
But wherever I go I always know
I can't escape from you
A jug of wine to numb my mind
But what good does it do?
The jug runs dry and still I cry
I can't escape from you
These wasted years are souvenirs
Of love I thought was true
Your memory is chained to me
I can't escape from you
There is no end, I can't pretend
That dreams will soon come true
A slave too long to a heart of stone
I can't escape from you
