This was (and still is) an internet service solely dedicated to helping singles find their perfect mate. In its early years, there was still the stigma of desperation for its members. It was also considered somewhat risky since the internet was new territory for most. Not being able to meet and talk to someone face-to-face left a lot to question. However, in today’s world, hearing that one of your friends or someone you know is dating on an online dating site, is no big deal. In fact, research from 2014 shows that people of all ages have participated in online dating. 22% of 25-34 year olds have said they have used some form of online dating. This even includes mobile dating. Just like advertising singles had evolved from the newspaper to the internet, it has evolved once again. The popularity and convenience of online dating has proved itself to be a valuable market for some entrepreneurs. So why not make it even more convenient for users? Phone apps like Tinder provide services to those customers on the go...or just customers who are bored. While Tinder doesn’t really give an in-depth way to see if someone may be the perfect mate for you, it has had a lot of popularity. In 2014, a marketing company, DMR, shares that Tinder has 3.6 million users. With that many people, it’s in the user’s best interest to look their best, so as not to be ignored. Well, the online daters in this video took that statement to a whole new level of strange.
