Movers and Shakers is a late night talk show that was hosted by popular comedy actor Shekhar Suman on Sony Entertainment Television. The show comprised of an opening monologue followed by comedy routines interviews and performances. Close to 500 celebrities were interviewed by Shekhar Suman on the show. Launched in 1997 the show was a huge hit and it catapulted Shekhar Suman to stardom making him one of India's most popular TV Actors.

Mahesh Bhatt (born on 20 September 1948), is a prominent Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. Bhatt's early directional career consisted of acclaimed films, such as Arth, Saaransh, Janam, Naam,Sadak and Zakhm. He was later the writer of numerous commercial films in a range of film genres, from dramas like Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and comedies like Duplicate, though he was mostly recognised for thrillers like Inteha, Jism, Murder and Woh Lamhe.
Mahesh Bhatt was born to Nanabhai Bhatt, a Hindu and Shirin Mohammed Ali, a Muslim on 20 September 1948. Nanabhai Bhatt was a film director and producer of Hindi and Gujarati films. Mahesh Bhatt was raised by his mother alone as his parents were not married and his father also had another family. He has five siblings, four sisters and one brother Mukesh Bhatt, who is a film producer.
Bhatt did his schooling from Don Bosco High School, Matunga. While still in school, Bhatt started summer jobs to earn money. He also made advertisements for various products. He was introduced to film director Raj Khosla through acquaintances. Bhatt thus started as assistant director to Khosla.

Anupam Kher (born 7 March 1955) is an Indian actor who has appeared in nearly 450 films and 100 plays. Though mainly appearing in Bollywood films, he has had roles in some films from other nations as well. He has held the post of Chairman of the Censor Board and National School of Drama in India.
Anupam Kher was born into a Kashmiri Pandit family and lived in Shimla and was educated at D.A.V. School there. He is an alumnus and a former chairperson of the National School of Drama. Some of his early acting was in plays performed at the Himachal Pradesh University.
Kher made his acting debut in the 1982 Hindi movie Aagman. Then in 1984 came Saaransh, where 28-year old Kher played a retired man who has lost his son. He hosted TV shows such as Say Na Something To Anupam Uncle, Sawaal Dus Crore Ka and the recent Lead India. He has had many comic roles but has also played the villain such as his acclaimed role as terrorist Dr. Dang in Karma (1986). For his role in Daddy (1989) he received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. Kher has won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role five times, more than any other actor.

Trikal (1985) is an Indian movie written and directed by Shyam Benegal, set in Goa during the early 1960s (pre liberation) Period. The film starred yester years actress, Leela Naidu, in a comeback role after many decades. The film was selected for the Indian Panorama at Filmotsav 1986, and for the Indian Film Retrospective, Lisbon 1986. It was later invited to the London Film Festival 1986. The film was shot in the ancestral home of Mario Miranda, at Loutolim, Goa. Liberally sprinkled with dashes of humor, this is a fast-paced comedy about a family and their friends who lived through the transition of Goa from a Portuguese colony to a district governed by India. Ana (Sushma Prakash) is about to become engaged (unwillingly) to the unappealing Erasmo when her beloved grandfather suddenly dies. Her grandmother is so overwhelmed by grief that Ana's engagement is put on hold indefinitely (along with everything else) while granny tries to contact the spirit of her dead husband. But her wires get crossed each time and instead of grandpa, she brings forth ghosts of people the family has wronged in the past. Meanwhile, Ana's real love is hiding out in the cellar. As Ana's marriage to Erasmo draws near, she faints dead away because (as he soon finds out) she is pregnant, but not by him. These and other events are revealed in flashbacks as a former resident in the house returns to visit 25 years later. Pradhan refuses to let Sujata out of his house, and then begins the stalking and harassment by Gajanan's men. Pradhan goes to file a police complaint, but is told that the police cannot even touch Gajanan's men. Sujata has no choice but to continue to seek shelter with Pradhan and his wife. Sujata does not know that Pradhan and Parvati have a secret agenda of their own in keeping her within their sight.

Synopsis - Set in 1961 Goa, when colonial rule of Portuguese was on its last gasp, the movie revolves around the life and tribulations of a fictional Goan Christian family called "Souza Soares". Liberally sprinkled with dashes of humor, this is a fast-paced comedy about a family and their friends who lived through the transition of Goa from a Portuguese colony to a district governed by India. Ana (Sushma Prakash) is about to become engaged (unwillingly) to the unappealing Erasmo when her beloved grandfather suddenly dies. Her grandmother is so overwhelmed by grief that Ana's engagement is put on hold indefinitely (along with everything else) while granny tries to contact the spirit of her dead husband. But her wires get crossed each time and instead of grandpa, she brings forth ghosts of people the family has wronged in the past. Meanwhile, Ana's real love is hiding out in the cellar. As Ana's marriage to Erasmo draws near, she faints dead away because (as he soon finds out) she is pregnant, but not by him. The show comprised of an opening monologue followed by comedy routines interviews and performances. Close to 500 celebrities were interviewed by Shekhar Suman on the show. Launched in 1997 the show was a huge hit and it catapulted Shekhar Suman to stardom making him one of India's most popular TV Actors.

Story: A Bollywood unit decides to travel to scenic Pahalgam in Kashmir to complete an yet untitled movie. The stars are Naseerudin Shah, Amol Palekar, Sushma Seth, Shabana Azmi, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. From the onset itself it is quite clear that the stars do not get along with each other, although they portray roles to the contrary. Their hatred for each other goes to such an extent that blows and fisticuffs are exchanged. Then one of them gets killed, followed by the deaths of Dayal, and Sushma. The Police are called in, and after conducting an investigation conclude that the person responsible for these deaths is Kuku - a mentally ill man, who was present at the scene of the crime and in possession of a gun. But Naseeruddin has his doubts whether Kuku is the real killer- and the only way to find that out is to put Shabana as a bait to lure the killer out into the open. The question remains will Shabana permit herself to be the bait, and even if so, will the real killer, if any, will show his true colors and expose himself.

Synopsis - As children, Suraj and Amar had helplessly watched a police inspector beat their poor father to death by throwing him from a window of a multi-storied building. Amar and Suraj grow up and take to petty crime. It is this that leads them to a gangster named Pasha, and it is here that Amar and Suraj will decide to part ways, for Amar does not want to get involved in any gangland activity especially dealing with illicit drugs, while Suraj wants money and wealth and will do anything to get rich. Their paths will cross again, when Suraj accepts a contract to kill a young drug addict named Vicky from testifying against Pasha and his men. What Suraj does not know is that Vicky is the brother of Asha, the woman Amar has fallen in love with, and will do anything to protect her and Vicky.

Devastated to learn that their only son has been killed by muggers in New York City, former Headmaster B.B. Pradhan and his wife, Parvati, grieve. With their son dead, there is no source of income for the couple, so they rent out a room, in their Shivaji Park - Bombay apartment to a budding Bollywood actress, Sujata Suman, who has been having an illicit affair with the only son - Vilas of a politician named Gajanan Chitre. Vilas lacks the guts to tell his father that he is in love and would like to marry Sujata, and hence puts off any marriage plans. They do get intimate and as a result Sujata gets pregnant. When Pradhan finds out, he offers to take Sujata to meet Gajanan with the hope that he will permit her to become his daughter-in-law. But Gajanan not only refuses, he also threatens them, he warns them of dire consequences if Sujata does not abort the child, and moves away to another town. Pradhan refuses to let Sujata out of his house, and then begins the stalking and harassment by Gajanan's men. Pradhan goes to file a police complaint, but is told that the police cannot even touch Gajanan's men. Sujata has no choice but to continue to seek shelter with Pradhan and his wife. Sujata does not know that Pradhan and Parvati have a secret agenda of their own in keeping her within their sight.

Synopsis - Kumar and Suman have been married for many years, but do not have any children. When Suman does get pregnant, gives birth to a baby girl, but is not expected to live, on her deathbed she asks Kumar to promise that he will take good care of their daughter, never re-marry, and after Kumar promises, she passes away. Kumar names his daughter Priya and grows very attached to her. Years later, Priya has grown up and there is a strong bond between father and daughter. She is now of marriageable age, and her marriage is arranged to London-based Ajay Mehra, her childhood sweetheart. The marriage is only allowed to take place after Ajay and his mom, Anu, promise to re-locate and settle in India. After the marriage takes place, neither Priya and Kumar are able to stay away from each other, leading to bitterness in the Mehra family, which results in Kumar asking Priya not to come to his house anymore. Hurt and heartbroken, a pregnant Priya agrees to move to London, and does not communicate with her dad at all. Then several months later, they find out that Kumar has had a heart attack and the family returns to India. The shock of seeing her ill dad has a negative effect on Priya's pregnancy, and the doctor asks Ajay to make a choice whether to save Priya or their child. While Anu wants the child, Kumar wants his daughter - and Ajay is the only one who has to decide. The question is what will Ajay decide under these circumstances, especially after being told that Priya will never be able to have children again.
