Durga which is about Durga a precocious, but peace-loving, college student. He has a group of friends, who he hangs around with. He meets with Gayetri, and falls in love with her. She also seems attracted to him. When they meet at the bus stop, Gayetri refuses to recognize him, and he gets arrested. After his interrogation, he is released, and hates Gayetri and will not have anything to do with her. When he finds out the reason behind Gayetri's refusal to recognize him, both reconcile their differences, and decide to get married.

Gayetri's dad, Shivaji Rao, who is a Manager with the local Cinema Hall, does not like Durga, and wants Gayetri to marry someone else, which Gayetri does not agree to. In desperation, Shivaji turns for help to a local gangster and asks him to kill Durga. What Shivaji does not know is Durga is the only son of notorious gangster and criminal don, Ramdas, who will not spare anyone who will even dare to think about harming his son.

Padai Veetu Amman is a 2002 Tamil religious film directed by Pugazhmani. The film features Ramki, Meena, Devayani and Ravali in lead roles. The film, produced by Televista Digitals Limited, had musical score by S. A. Rajkumar and was released on 4 November 2002.
Meena plays the dual role of Goddess Padai Veettu Amman, and the neighbouring deity Muthu Maariamman, cutting a pretty picture in all her finery. Devayani plays Chamundi, a devotee, and the film opens with her being killed brutally on the eve of her marriage by the henchmen of the local bigwig. The latter's daughter was in love with the intended bridegroom Shankar and the fond father had wanted to remove the only hurdle in the way. The bigwig, in order to get his hands on a hidden treasure, had also taken the help of an evil tantrik. The presiding deity Muthu Maariamman is helpless, bound as she was by a vow she had made to Chamundi. That she wouldn't step out of her abode till Chamundi herself asked her to. It is time for the neighbouring deity Padai Veetu Amman to come to the rescue of the distressed village.

Birth of Uma Devi as Renugai:
With the blessings of Brahma, the Mother of all world Uma Devi was born to Eraivadha Maharaja, the king of Vidharppa Desam. The child named as Renugai grew and attained marital age. Permitted by her father and according to the customs of that times, Renugai traveled the whole world accompanied by her friends and an army in search of a suitable husband. At last she arrived Kundalipuram, where saint Jamathakni was doing penance. Since Renugai camped near the Ashram with her soldiers, the sacred place was named "Padai Veedu" (army encampment). "Padaiveedu" is now called as "A.K.Padavedu (Amman Koil Padavedu)". Here, Renugai saw Saint Jamathakni.
Kamandala Nadhi(River):
At that time a war broke out between the disciples of the Saint Jamathakni and the soldiers of Renugai. Durga alias Chamundeeswari who accompanied Renugai, effected havoc by the fire appeared from her third eye. Hearing this, the Saint Jamathakni brought all the Teerthas available in three worlds in his kamandalam (water_jug used by ascetics) and dropped it. The water from kamandalam transformed into a huge river and extinguished the fire brought by Chamundeeswari. This river is known as "Kamandala Nadhi".
Renugai marrying Saint Jamathakni:
Learned through a voice form Heaven that Saint Jamathakni would be her husband. Renugai requested the saint to marry her. Saint Jamathakni agreed and both of them got married. They gave birth a child 'Parasuramar', a Vishnu Avatar.

The Hindu nationalist movement in India has become a pervasive cultural and political force in the country over the past 20 years. The nationalist ideology emerged, in part, as a response to the pressures of British rule (1858-1947) and the cultural and religious influence of the West. The movement especially attracted those with fears of religious minority groups, particularly Christians and Muslims. In the 1920s, the movement gained traction among poorer Hindus (the lower caste) who felt oppressed by the ruling Hindu elite and for whom the idea of returning India to its "pure Hindu roots" was appealing. India’s population identifies today as 80.5% Hindu, 13.4% Muslim, 2.3% Christian and 1.9% Sikh.
Most Hindu nationalists reject secularism and advocate for Hindutva, an ideology that defines Indian culture and politics in terms of Hindu religious values. In some cases, this ideology has led to a militant intolerance of religious minorities, especially Islam and Christianity, and it has led to a number of violent anti-Muslim and anti-Christian acts, most notably the destruction of a mosque on an alleged Hindu holy site in 1992, an anti-Muslim pogrom in the western state of Gujarat in 2002 and the burning of churches in the eastern state of Orissa in 2008. The nationalists responsible for the violence argue that the targeted communities pose a danger to Hinduism. Hindu nationalists also feel that their culture—and its traditional gender roles in particular—is threatened by Western-style fashion, media and consumerism.

With the blessings of Brahma, the Mother of all world Uma Devi was born to Eraivadha Maharaja, the king of Vidharppa Desam. The child named as Renugai grew and attained marital age. Permitted by her father and according to the customs of that times, Renugai traveled the whole world accompanied by her friends and an army in search of a suitable husband. At last she arrived Kundalipuram, where saint Jamathakni was doing penance. Since Renugai camped near the Ashram with her soldiers, the sacred place was named "Padai Veedu" (army encampment). "Padaiveedu" is now called as "A.K.Padavedu (Amman Koil Padavedu)". Here, Renugai saw Saint Jamathakni.
Kamandala Nadhi(River):
At that time a war broke out between the disciples of the Saint Jamathakni and the soldiers of Renugai. Durga alias Chamundeeswari who accompanied Renugai, effected havoc by the fire appeared from her third eye. Hearing this, the Saint Jamathakni brought all the Teerthas available in three worlds in his kamandalam (water_jug used by ascetics) and dropped it. The water from kamandalam transformed into a huge river and extinguished the fire brought by Chamundeeswari. This river is known as "Kamandala Nadhi".
Renugai marrying Saint Jamathakni:
Learned through a voice form Heaven that Saint Jamathakni would be her husband. Renugai requested the saint to marry her. Saint Jamathakni agreed and both of them got married. They gave birth a child 'Parasuramar', a Vishnu Avatar.
Aadi Velli (Fridays in the Tamil month of Aadi) Festival :
Starting from the first Friday in the Tamil Month of Aadi, this festival is celebrated for 7 Fridays.

The Hindu nationalist movement in India has become a pervasive cultural and political force in the country over the past 20 years. The nationalist ideology emerged, in part, as a response to the pressures of British rule (1858-1947) and the cultural and religious influence of the West. The movement especially attracted those with fears of religious minority groups, particularly Christians and Muslims. In the 1920s, the movement gained traction among poorer Hindus (the lower caste) who felt oppressed by the ruling Hindu elite and for whom the idea of returning India to its "pure Hindu roots" was appealing. India’s population identifies today as 80.5% Hindu, 13.4% Muslim, 2.3% Christian and 1.9% Sikh.
Most Hindu nationalists reject secularism and advocate for Hindutva, an ideology that defines Indian culture and politics in terms of Hindu religious values. In some cases, this ideology has led to a militant intolerance of religious minorities, especially Islam and Christianity, and it has led to a number of violent anti-Muslim and anti-Christian acts, most notably the destruction of a mosque on an alleged Hindu holy site in 1992, an anti-Muslim pogrom in the western state of Gujarat in 2002 and the burning of churches in the eastern state of Orissa in 2008. The nationalists responsible for the violence argue that the targeted communities pose a danger to Hinduism. Hindu nationalists also feel that their culture—and its traditional gender roles in particular—is threatened by Western-style fashion, media and consumerism.
