https://www.facebook.com/blurockcustompickups/ A little while back I was venting on Facebook (how unusual!) that I would probably never be able to afford a decent guitar that was built in the same year I was - 1963. That's when I met Dwight Wood, Master Luthier and owner of DRW Custom Guitars. Dwight wanted a little publicity help and I wanted a 60's-style Strat so we struck a deal and mapped out the build. The BK63 is the result of Dwight's incredible work and my hopes (far surpassed). Please note that this preset was written on an Axe-FX II but it should also rip on an Axe FX XL and XL+. The DRW Custom Guitars BK63's specs: Body: • Select one piece light weight Alder body routed for SSS pickup configuration • Lake Placd Blue nitro lacquer finish topped with nitro clear coat lacquer Neck: • Rift sawn 5A flamed maple neck with dark Indian rosewood fretboard (rolled FB edges) • 21 medium frets • Clay dot markers on FB, white on side • 9.5” radius • Hand shaped ‘Clapton ‘V’ profile • Vintage trussrod adjuster in heel • 1960’s light amber oil finish (hand rubbed) • Camel bone nut Electronics: • Blu-rock ‘BK Specials’ single coil hand scatter wound pickups • CTS 250K VTT pots • CLR 5 way switch • Sprague orange drop capacitor • lower tone control wired to the bridge pickup with top tone knob wired to neck & mid pickups, a treble bleed over the volume pot Hardware: • Genuine Gotoh tremolo bridge in gold with solid steel block • Gotoh locking tuners in gold • Fender USA gold output jack & neckplate • Mint Green 3 ply Pickguard • parchment pickup covers, knobs & tips Blu-rock Pickup specs are: • Fibre bobbin flatwork with Alnico 5 magnet rods slightly under-magnetised • Plain enamel copper used with Ohms outputs for each: Neck = 5.8K | Mid = 6.3K | Br = 6.7K
