The terpenoids (/ˈtɜːrpᵻnɔɪd/ TUR-pə-noyd), sometimes called isoprenoids, are a large and diverse class of naturally occurring organic chemicals similar to terpenes, derived from five-carbon isoprene units assembled and modified in thousands of ways. Most are multicyclic structures that differ from one another not only in functional groups but also in their basic carbon skeletons. These lipids can be found in all classes of living things, and are the largest group of natural products. About 60% of known natural products are terpenoids.
Plant terpenoids are used extensively for their aromatic qualities and play a role in traditional herbal remedies. Terpenoids contribute to the scent of eucalyptus, the flavors of cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, the yellow color in sunflowers, and the red color in tomatoes. Well-known terpenoids include citral, menthol, camphor, salvinorin A in the plant Salvia divinorum, the cannabinoids found in cannabis, ginkgolide and bilobalide found in Ginkgo biloba, and the curcuminoids found in turmeric and mustard seed.

This lesson explains Terpenoids in two parts. This is part-1. Part-1 explains the basics of Terpenoids & part-2 explains the structures. I designed this lesson in flash.I am a retired lecturer with 38years of experience. It is a self explanatory lesson.I used a devotional instrumental music as background music. It is from an audio CD purchased by me and it is produced by Abhiram Rcording company,Chennai-17. If anybody feels the music is disturbing I request them to lower the volume and follow the lesson. I can put my voice but it lengthens the movie.I would like to communicate as much information as possible.

http://www.mygreenplanet.com/ Terpinator is formulated to increase the concentration of terpenoids in aromatic plant oils and glands. The unique composition of Terpinator provides the basic building blocks that plants require to produce flavorful oils. By using naturally occurring plant and biological compounds, unique enzymatic pathways within a plant's body are utilized to enhance the production of terpenoids and plant oils. These glands are brought to their maximum potential and size using Terpinator along with a nutrient regimen. Terpinator also catalyzes steps in a plant's normal metabolism that will protect and prolong fragrances of your plant's dried fruits and flowers.

Taming THC: Potential Cannabis Synergy and Phytocannabinoid-Terpenoid Entourage Effects is one of the most important research papers in cannabis medicine. For many, it was the first time they had read an explanation of the interaction between THC, CBD, terpenoids and minor cannabinoids explained in terms that a layperson could understand. On today's episode of Shaping Fire, Dr. Ethan Russo sits down with podcast host Shango Los to discuss the paper in detail and further explain and illustrate his research. This is a must-hear show for anyone serious about cannabis medicine. You can read the paper in full here: http://bit.ly/2lrsB3z More episodes at www.ShapingFire.com www.ShangoLos.com www.Phytecs.com

Phytocannabinoids, an overview. 'Terpenoids comprise a very large family of related chemical compounds. Within this group, there are many sub-families, including Terpenes (where the family gets its name), semiterpene lactones, cannabinoids and others. Among the Cannabinoid family are Phytocannabinoids, made by plants, and endocannabinoids, made by animals. Cannabinoids all share similar structures and properties, and were first discovered in Cannabis, which is where the cannabinoid sub-family gets it’s name. We have now isolated cannabinoid synthesis in plants and plant families other than genus Cannabis, including family Asteraceae, and plants including Flax, Echinacea and Heliochrysum. The greatest number of different cannabinoids are found in Cannabis and at last count exceed 100 dif...
