Clergy is a generic term used to refer to the formal religious leadership within some religions. A clergyman, clergywoman, clergyperson, churchman or cleric is a member of the clergy, especially one who is a priest, preacher, pastor, or other religious professional. Depending on the religion, clergy usually take care of the ritual aspects of the religious life, teach or otherwise help in spreading the religion's doctrine and practices.
In Christianity there is a wide range of formal and informal clergy positions, including deacons, priests, bishops, preachers, pastors, and ministers. The specific names and roles of clergy vary by denomonation. In Shia Islam, religious leaders are usually known as imams or ayatollahs. In Judaism religious teachers are usually known as rabbis.
The term ultimately comes from the Greek "κλῆρος" - klēros, "a lot", "that which is assigned by lot" (allotment) or metaphorically, "inheritance". Within Christianity, especially in Eastern Christianity and formerly in Western Roman Catholicism, the term cleric refers to any individual who has received the clerical tonsure, including deacons, priests, and bishops. In Latin Roman Catholicism, the tonsure was a prerequisite for receiving any of the minor orders or major orders before the tonsure, minor orders, and the subdiaconate were abolished following the Second Vatican Council. Now, the clerical state is tied to reception of the diaconate.Minor Orders are still given in the Eastern Catholic Churches, and those who receive those orders are 'minor clerics.'

Jumping over streams talking bout our dreams
We laugh we smile we dance
Would you give it one more chance
Please don't let me leave this place
I really really don't want to wake up
Cause then I'll have to face
All the thoughts that race
How it all ended up the same
Without you here in my arms
Keep holding on
Keep holding on
Remember how we laughed
Our hearts beating fast
It was like a scene straight from tv
We sped away from the cops on our feet
To find a spot on a hill
That overlooked the city
Still with you here in my arms
Keep holding on
Keep holding on
Don't forget the pictures in our minds
On the floor at the station
We could care less what people thought
The only two in a sea of blur
At the turning of a year
With you here in my arms
Pizza and pasta with the band playing sinatra
Nothing else can ever compete
Like a two-piece puzzle
They don't even come close
With you here in my arms
We traveled the world
Pampas from brazil and brats from belgium
There's so many more places to discover
I wouldn't want to do it with another
Don't forget the journeys
In the snow solving mysteries
And in the desert full of camels
As I finish this song
I have one request
