Evgeny Ellinovich Sveshnikov (Jevgēņijs Svešņikovs) (born Cheliabinsk, February 11, 1950) is a Latvian, former Soviet International Grandmaster of chess, and a chess writer.
He played in his first USSR Chess Championship when he was just 17 years old and became an IM in 1975 and a GM in 1977.
In earliest international competition he was a joint winner at Decin 1974, shared first place (with Lev Polugaevsky) at Sochi 1976 and won category 8 tournaments at Le Havre 1977 and Cienfuegos 1979. At Novi Sad in 1979, he shared second prize with Efim Geller behind Florin Gheorghiu. At Wijk aan Zee in 1981, he shared 3rd place and in 1983 was (joint) Champion of Moscow.
In team chess, he was selected as a reserve for the Soviet side participating at the Moscow 1977 European Team Chess Championship. Although only an International Master at the time, he registered an 80% score, winning individual and team gold medals. Representing Latvia at the Chess Olympiads of 2004 and 2006, he has lost only twice in 22 games.

House music is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the American city of Chicago, Illinois in the early 1980s. It was initially popularized in mid-1980s discothèques catering to African-Americans and Latinos in Chicago circa 1984. From 1985 onwards, it began to fan out to other cities such as Detroit, Toronto, New York City, Montreal, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Manchester, Miami, London, and Paris. It then reached and began to influence popular music in Europe as a whole, with pop chart hits such as "House Nation" by House Master Boyz and the Rude Boy Of House (1987) and "Doctorin' The House" by Coldcut (1988). Since the early to mid-1990s, house music has been infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide.
Early house music was generally dance-based music characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats and rhythms centered around drum machines, off-beat hi-hat cymbals and synthesized basslines. While house displayed several characteristics similar to disco music, it was more electronic and minimalistic, and the structured music's focus around a repetitive rhythm was more important than the song itself. House music today, while keeping several of these core elements, notably the prominent kick drum on every beat, varies a lot in style and influence, ranging from the soulful and atmospheric deep house, to the more minimalistic microhouse. House music has also fused with several other genres creating fusion subgenres, such as Euro house and tech house.

World Chess Championship 2012: Anand-Gelfand, game 5
A round-up of the events during the third match day in Moscow. In the Engineering Building of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Vishy Anand (India) and Boris Gelfand (Israel) played their fifth of twelve games, which ended in a draw after 27 moves. The opening was the Sveshnikov Sicilian and it was a wonderful coincidence to see Evgeny Sveshnikov himself entering the press room today. The video also includes a brief interview with Alexander Grischuk. -

The 17 yr old 2015 NHL draft eligible forward was the 1st Star (1G 2A) helping the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to a 6-3 win in Moncton. Merab Gagunashvili (Georgian: მერაბ გაგუნაშვილი; born January 3, 1985) is a Georgian chess grandmaster and Georgian Champion in 2004.
In 2001, he won the silver medal in the World Junior Chess Championship. In 2009 he tied for 3rd-8th with Anton Filippov, Elshan Moradiabadi, Vadim Malakhatko, Alexander Shabalov and Niaz Murshed in the Ravana Challenge Tournament in Colombo. In 2010 he won the Tbilisi Municipality Cup.[3] In 2011 he tied for 1st-4th with Gadir Guseinov, Evgeny Gleizerov and Sergei Tiviakov in the 19th Fajr Open Chess Tournament. He took part in the FIDE World Chess Championship 2004, but was knocked out in the first round by Smbat Lputian. He played in the Chess Olympiads of 2002, 2004 and 2006.
