Plot: Mankatha is a racy and adrenaline-rushing story of a Maharashtra police officer Vinayak Mahadevan (Ajith) who is suspended for helping a smuggler to escape from police encounter. He starts leading life in his own way. He falls for Sanjana (Trisha), daughter of an influential local goon Arumuga Chettiyar (Jayaprakash) in Mumbai. A tough cop Prithvi (Arjun) takes charge to end betting scandal in IPL cricket in Mumbai. Arumuga uses his links with dons in Mumbai tries to route through his old theatre, a cash of over Rs 500 crore to be used in betting. Sumanth (Vaibhav), a goon working for Arumuga Chettiyarplans to take away the booty with the help of his friends Ganesh (Ashwin), Mahanth (Mahanth), who owns a bar in Mumbai and Prem (Premji), a IIT graduate. Vinayak joins the race. he promises to help them and divide it between them. Trouble starts after they take away the cash. Both Arumugha Chettiyar and police are now on their heels. Plot: Mumbai-based Santosh Singh gets married to much taller, Kota-based Shanti. He is employed with Oracle Bank as a Cashier, and is friendly with the Manager, Prem, who has also recently married Khushi. Santosh is generally misunderstood, gets upset easily - especially when Shanti accuses him of taking some wedding gifts as dowry, and blames the Khuranas for his plight. He envies other men and fantasizes about being married to an understanding wife. While Prem does not talk much about his marriage, but his relationship is not harmonious either - as Khushi is very jealous, possessive, and insecure. Things get only worse after Santosh starts to fantasize about Khushi; Shanti prepares to leave him after finding out he is having an affair with his colleague, Shivani; and the police arrest him for molesting a bar dancer.

Plot: Laila, brought up in a brothel, is a cabaret dancer in Digvijay Singh's five star hotel. On day her dying mother informs her that Laila is her adopted child. Plot: Arun meets Seema by accident and both are attracted to each other. But Seema has a questionable background, which do create doubts in the minds of Arun and his mother. Then Arun returns, and Seema is overjoyed to see him, but is hesitant to tell him about what had occurred. Arun takes Seema to his home, and introduces them to his family, namely his mom, his sister, Priti, and his brother-in-law, Prem. Seema is stunned and shocked when she sees Prem, for she recognizes him as the man who had raped her. Now Seema must decide to keep this terrible secret to herself and get married to Arun, or simply disappear from his life altogether.

Plot: The Rai family consists of four: father, mother, Shanti, and two sons, Ajay and Vijay. Ajay is a lowly motor mechanic working in Pinto's Garage, but has big dreams, and a dual life as a Casanova, who is a liar, a conman, who dreams of making it big with a wealthy woman named Sheetal Khanna. Then there is Vijay, who is now known as Vikram, who works for Sheetal Khanna, and hopes to marry her one day, but has an affair with a gorgeous woman named Mala. When Mala gets pregnant, Vikram refuses to marry her, and an argument ensues. Shortly thereafter Mala is killed, and Vikram is being blackmailed by a man named Prem, who claims he saw Vikram kill her. When Vikram and Prem find out that Sheetal may marry Ajay, they get together and plot against him - and Ajay's lies, and a dual life, make it easy for them to frame him.

Plot: Rajesh, though orphaned at a very age, comes from a very wealthy and noble family, is very insecure and possessive almost to the point of an obsession. As a child he had loved a girl named Meena, and when she tragically passes away, Rajesh substituted her with a doll. When he found that another young boy had touched the doll, he starts a fight with him, and ends up killing him. Years later, Rajesh has grown up, but still has the doll in his closet drawer, he has fallen in love with a woman named Meena and wants to marry her. He even gives Girdharilal, Meena's dad, some money so that he can get his eldest daughter, Parvati, married to Prem, the son of money-lender, Mayadas. He introduces Meena to his close and best friend, Dr. Shekhar, and soon gets formally engaged to Meena. Thereafter, Rajesh and Meena have an automobile accident, in which Rajesh becomes paralyzed and must be confined in a wheelchair. It is then that Rajesh finds out that Shekhar and Meena are having an affair, and the old murderous and possessive hatred, that he had managed to conceal, surfaces again - and this time it will be Shekhar's turn.
