"We are not gays," President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe told the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Monday. "We reject attempts to prescribe new rights that are contrary to our values, norms, traditions and beliefs," he said. The comment drew gasps and laughter from the delegates.
However, Mugabe - who led the militant Zimbabwe Afircan National Union against white minority rule in Rhodesia the 1960s and 1970s - also drew applause from the audience after he reiterated his nation's "unwavering" support towards the Palestinian people as well as his condemnation of "destabilisation" policies from outside powers in the Middle East.
Discussing the ongoing tragedy in the Mediterranean, the "tragic situation could have been avoided through the respect of the independence of other countries and non-interference in internal affairs," the 91-year-old Zimbabwean leader added.

This video belongs to black truth hurts thank you.When Zimbabwe gained independence, 46.5% of the country's arable land was owned by around 6,000 commercial farmers[48] and white farmers, who made up less than 1% of the population, owned 70% of the best farming land.[49] Mugabe accepted a "willing buyer, willing seller" plan as part of the Lancaster House Agreement of 1979, among other concessions to the white minority.[50] As part of this agreement, land redistribution was blocked for a period of 10 years.[51]
In 1997, the new British government led by Tony Blair unilaterally stopped funding the "willing buyer, willing seller" land reform programme on the basis that the initial £44 million allocated under the Thatcher government was used to purchase land for members of the ruling elite rather than landless peasants. Furthermore, Britain's ruling Labour Party felt no obligation to continue paying white farmers compensation, or in minister Clare Short's words, "I should make it clear that we do not accept that Britain has a special responsibility to meet the costs of land purchase in Zimbabwe. We are a new Government from diverse backgrounds without links to former colonial interests. My own origins are Irish and as you know we were colonised not colonisers".[52]
Some commentators, such as Matthew Sweet in The Independent, hold Cecil Rhodes ultimately responsible:

His Excellency Robert Mugabe, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe,
At the general debate of the 70th Session of the General Assembly
Of the United Nations (New York, 28 September 2015.
President Mugabe stated that AU members were rightfully
pushing for reforms to get a seat on the Security Council
and called on other member states to support the African campaign.
Mr Mugabe also said that AU members want the selection
of the UN secretary-general to be conducted by
the General Assembly and not as a rubber stamp of the Security Council.

Robert Mugabe trips and falls down steps Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe falls down steps after being greeted by adoring supporters
Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe has been pictured falling down a set of steps after addressing his adoring supporters at an airport. The 90 year old President who has held the position since 1987 took a tumble as he walked down some steps from a podium where he had been addressing his adoring supporters. He had been talking to the crowd at Harare International Airport, who had gathered to welcome Mugabe back from a trip to Ethiopia where he had been elected chairman of the 54 state African Nation.
He claimed 'no African country' had opposed Zimbabwe's elevation to lead the organisation. However, when you are keeping quite as firm a grasp on power as Mugabe, it doesn't do to show any sign of weakness. As a result some press photographers who captured the fall are claiming they were forced to delete their pictures by security personnel. Mugabe’s spokesman was not immediately available for comment. It is understood the President who has overseen his once prosperous nation's steep decline since starting to seize white owned farms in 2000 was helped up quickly by aides, before being whisked away in his waiting limousine.
He had been welcomed to the airport by cheering supporters, who held placards aloft one of which said 'Your greatness resonates across Africa and beyond'. But this is a far from widespread sentiment. Mugabe, who celebrates his 91st birthday on February 21, has been accused of using widespread violence to win several disputed elections, according to human rights groups.

Robert Gabriel Mugabe (Shona pronunciation: [muɡaɓe],[needs tone]English: /muːˈɡɑːbiː/ moo-GAH-bee; born 21 February 1924) is the President of Zimbabwe. As one of the leaders of the liberation movement against white-minority rule, he was elected into power in 1980. He served as Prime Minister from 1980 to 1987, and as the first executive head of state since 1987.
Mugabe rose to prominence in the 1960s as the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) during the conflict against the white-minority rule government of Ian Smith. Mugabe was a political prisoner in Rhodesia for more than 10 years between 1964 and 1974. Upon release with Edgar Tekere, Mugabe left Rhodesia in 1975 to re-join the Zimbabwe Liberation Struggle (Rhodesian Bush War) from bases in Mozambique.
At the end of the war in 1979, Mugabe emerged as a hero in the minds of many Africans. He won the general elections of 1980, the second in which the majority of black Africans participated in large numbers (though the electoral system in Rhodesia had allowed black participation based on qualified franchise). Mugabe then became the first Prime Minister after calling for reconciliation between formerly warring parties, including white Rhodesians and rival political groups.

"We are not gays," President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe told the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Monday. "We reject attempts to prescribe new rights that are contrary to our values, norms, traditions and beliefs," he said. The comment drew gasps and laughter from the delegates.
However, Mugabe - who led the militant Zimbabwe Afircan National Union against white minority rule in Rhodesia the 1960s and 1970s - also drew applause from the audience after he reiterated his nation's "unwavering" support towards the Palestinian people as well as his condemnation of "destabilisation" policies from outside powers in the Middle East.
Discussing the ongoing tragedy in the Mediterranean, the "tragic situation could have been avoided through the respect of the independence of other countries and non-interference in internal affairs," the 91-year-old Zimbabwean leader added.

This video belongs to black truth hurts thank you.When Zimbabwe gained independence, 46.5% of the country's arable land was owned by around 6,000 commercial farmers[48] and white farmers, who made up less than 1% of the population, owned 70% of the best farming land.[49] Mugabe accepted a "willing buyer, willing seller" plan as part of the Lancaster House Agreement of 1979, among other concessions to the white minority.[50] As part of this agreement, land redistribution was blocked for a period of 10 years.[51]
In 1997, the new British government led by Tony Blair unilaterally stopped funding the "willing buyer, willing seller" land reform programme on the basis that the initial £44 million allocated under the Thatcher government was used to purchase land for members of the ruling elite rather than landless peasants. Furthermore, Britain's ruling Labour Party felt no obligation to continue paying white farmers compensation, or in minister Clare Short's words, "I should make it clear that we do not accept that Britain has a special responsibility to meet the costs of land purchase in Zimbabwe. We are a new Government from diverse backgrounds without links to former colonial interests. My own origins are Irish and as you know we were colonised not colonisers".[52]
Some commentators, such as Matthew Sweet in The Independent, hold Cecil Rhodes ultimately responsible:
... It was Cecil Rhodes who originated the racist 'land grabs' to which Zimbabwe's current miseries can ultimately be traced. It was Rhodes who in 1887 told the House Of Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa that 'the native is to be treated as a child and denied the franchise. We must adopt a system of despotism in our relations with the barbarians of Southern Africa'.

It is understood the President who has overseen his once prosperous nation's steep decline since starting to seize white owned farms in 2000 was helped up quickly by aides, before being whisked away in his waiting limousine.
He had been welcomed to the airport by cheering supporters, who held placards aloft one of which said 'Your greatness resonates across Africa and beyond'. But this is a far from widespread sentiment. Mugabe, who celebrates his 91st birthday on February 21, has been accused of using widespread violence to win several disputed elections, according to human rights groups.

President Robert Mugabe does not care about funny quotes falsely attributed him, the Zimbabwean High Commissioner to Ghana has revealed.
Pavelyn Tenclai Musaka says his boss is thinking about important things and not what “little boys and girls” decide to do with his name.
“When I see and hear those quotes, I say to myself let’s not go to those levels. And I urge Ghanaian and African leaders to start respecting their own heads of states,” said Mrs Musaka.
Social media is awash with fake quotes attributed to the outspoken Zimbabwean leader.
Posts such as ’The only warning the African takes seriously is low battery’ – Mugabe (1 minute ago); ‘Circle de33 even if three people urinate at the same time, the place will be flooded’ (Robert Mugabe), are common on social media sites like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.
It is not clear when and how the trend started, however, the 94-year-old leader of Zimbabwe is known for his glib and strong anti-Western, anti-homosexuality comments.
Some of the things he has actually said include,"If President Barack Obama wants me to allow marriage for same-sex couples in my country (Zimbabwe), he must come here so that I marry him first".
He made the comment in reaction to Western pressure to recognise gay rights in the country.
To mock critics who say his 34-year rule over Zimbabwe, Mr Mugabe said "I am still the Hitler of the time. This Hitler has only one objective: justice for his people, sovereignty for his people, recognition of the independence of his people and their rights over their resources. If that is Hitler, then let me be Hitler tenfold. Ten times, that is what we stand for."
Mrs Musaka says her boss is a statesman and has never expressed worry.
“Because he is a statesman, statesmen don’t react to little boys and girls. He is not bothered by them. He is above that. He is fighting giants like Tony Blair and the rest, so he is not concerned at all,” she said.
Some of the quotes are:

5. If you take men and lock them in a house for five years and tell them to come up with two children and they fail to do that, then we will chop off their heads.
6. I have died many times. I have actually beaten Jesus Christ because he only died once.
7. Our votes must go together with our guns. After all, any vote we shall have, shall have been the product of the gun. The gun which produces the vote should remain its security officer - its guarantor. The people's votes and the people's guns are always inseparable twins.
8. I am still the Hitler of the time. This Hitler has only one objective: justice for his people, sovereignty for his people, recognition of the independence of his people and their rights over their resources. If that is Hitler, then let me be Hitler tenfold. Ten times, that is what we stand for.
