November 15, 2012, Kutaisi, Centre of Civic Engagement,-Training on Strategic Planning for Local self governments. Training was provided by the representative of Civitas Georgica Mindia Salukvadze. General goal of the training was to develop right attitude on participatory planning. Main goal of the training was: to help training participants realize importance of participatory planning and receive theoretical and practical knowledge on topic. Training covered Lanchkhuti, Tkibuli, Samtredia, Zestafoni , Terjola municipalities and Kutaisi self governments. Training participants were City council and gamgeoba representatives totally 20 person. Training module consisted of three main parts: 1. Theoretical materials (Participatory planning and local economic issues) 2. Municipal Planning (Practical work on municipal planning) 3. Special techniques of collecting and analyzing necessary information for strategic planning Together with training module was developed power point presentation. Training was provided using interactive methodology : work in groups, discussion, brainstorming, group and individual presentations and nominal group techniques. Training atmosphere was positive, participants were motivated and actively involved in training activities, they expressed special interest on the advantages and disadvantages of participatory planning. Representatives of every municipality were actively involved in group work on the elements of strategic planning and they cope with all training tasks without problems. By the end of training training participants were provided with assessment forms of training effectiveness (1-to-5 point). Every participants filled this forms. Result was positive and showed that training was interesting and fruitful.
