"48 Hours" is an investigative program that covers crime & murder in the United States. Last night's episode was reported and narrated by Jim Axelrod .
“The Doctor's Daughter” opened with Jenna frantically calling 911 emergency. Her mother Leslie Neulander had fallen in the shower, bumped her head and it looked like an accident. Her husband Robert Neulander is a doctor who dragged Leslie into their bedroom to perform CPR. Investigators found blood on the walls leading into the bedroom. They wanted to know why because this accidental death could be a murder.
There is blood on that bedroom carpet. There is also blood spatter on the wall and on the bed head-board. Robert dragged Leslie 60 feet from the bathroom. The 911 call was recorded from the house phone. You can hear Jenna protesting against her dad who dragged Leslie into the bedroom. Investigators believe that the head wounds on Leslie were too severe from just a fall in the shower.
Leslie was an extremely fit and healthy woman who suffered from vertigo (a fear of heights). Her accidental fall and death shocked her friends. A former medical examiner looked at the photos of those head injuries. They looked like something from a car crash or blunt force bashing.
