Rear Window is a 1954 American suspense film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, written by John Michael Hayes and based on Cornell Woolrich's 1942 short story "It Had to Be Murder". Originally released by Paramount Pictures, the film stars James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Wendell Corey, and Thelma Ritter.

The film is considered by many filmgoers, critics and scholars to be one of Hitchcock's best. The film received four Academy Award nominations and was ranked #42 on AFI's 100 Years…100 Movies list and #48 on the 10th-anniversary edition. In 1997, Rear Window was added to the United States National Film Registry.

After he broke his leg during a dangerous assignment, professional photographer L. B. "Jeff" Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined in his Greenwich Village apartment, using a wheelchair while he recuperates. His rear window looks out onto a small courtyard and several other apartments. During a summer heat wave, he passes the time by watching his neighbors, who keep their windows open to stay cool. The tenants he can see include a dancer he nicknames "Miss Torso", a lonely woman he nicknames "Miss Lonelyheart", a songwriter, several married couples, a middle-aged sculptor, and Lars Thorwald (Raymond Burr), a wholesale jewelry salesman with a bedridden wife.

I was out working on getting some Magnum Videos Rear Window Video footage when I learned that it was Cruise Night and a multitude of classic cars were on display on the city square. Naturally, I had to stop what I was doing and get over there. I wish I would have had my 70D to take some stunning shots, but maybe next month I can get that task accomplished. The footage at the end is a trial run of the Rear Window Video concept. I wanted to see if it was possible and how everything would fall together. I would love to hear your comments on it. I was out working on getting some Magnum Videos Rear Window Video footage when I learned that it was Cruise Night and a multitude of classic cars were on display on the city square. Naturally, I had to stop what I was doing and get over there. I wish I would have had my 70D to take some stunning shots, but maybe next month I can get that task accomplished. The footage at the end is a trial run of the Rear Window Video concept. I wanted to see if it was possible and how everything would fall together. I would love to hear your comments on it. PLEASE READ and Watch the entire video to make sure you are up to the task of replacing the rear window. Even if you watched someone else video for replacing an entire top that may have missed a few steps. I tried to show every step needed to replace "just the rear window" and that is why the video is so long. Anyone can replace their own convertible top window, it's the hardest part of replacing a convertible top. It just takes a staple gun, stainless staples (preferred), Phillips screwdriver, Flat head screwdriver, Torx T-20 screwdriver or T-20 socket, 13mm deep well 12 point socket or a 13mm flexible box ratchet wrench, needle nose pliers, scissors, razor and "Patience"!! At no time do you want to rush this. This video is just replacing the rear window and the tracing of the old window pattern to the new window is crucial that new window will be the same exact size as the old window and all cuts be smooth not jagged to prevent tearing. The cuts around the bottom edge on the new window should aligned with old window to allow the studs to easily fit thought the metal retaining strip. Size isn't as crucial if replacing the entire convertible top. The biggest thing is to make sure that you have the center marked on the top Bow to align with the center mark on the top of the window. And to make sure the bottom of the window has it's center marked to line up with the center hole on the metal retaining strip. The Metal retaining strip has at the most an 1/8 of an inch of side to side movement, which is basically nothing. If you don't have your centers aligned you are going to get a wrinkle in the back window vinyl. Follow along in the video and I can't emphasize this enough take your time!!! Plan to take a whole day at least 8 hours or break it up into a few days and park your Mustang in a garage to keep the rain out till your done. Sorry for the sound quality, the farther I am from the camera the quieter I got and thank you for my wife and oldest daughter for helping filming . I was out working on getting some Magnum Videos Rear Window Video footage when I learned that it was Cruise Night and a multitude of classic cars were on display on the city square. Naturally, I had to stop what I was doing and get over there. I wish I would have had my 70D to take some stunning shots, but maybe next month I can get that task accomplished. The footage at the end is a trial run of the Rear Window Video concept. I wanted to see if it was possible and how everything would fall together. I would love to hear your comments on it. PLEASE READ and Watch the entire video to make sure you are up to the task of replacing the rear window. Even if you watched someone else video for replacing an entire top that may have missed a few steps. I tried to show every step needed to replace "just the rear window" and that is why the video is so long. Anyone can replace their own convertible top window, it's the hardest part of replacing a convertible top. It just takes a staple gun, stainless staples (preferred), Phillips screwdriver, Flat head screwdriver, Torx T-20 screwdriver or T-20 socket, 13mm deep well 12 point socket or a 13mm flexible box ratchet wrench, needle nose pliers, scissors, razor and "Patience"!! At no time do you want to rush this. This video is just replacing the rear window and the tracing of the old window pattern to the new window is crucial that new window will be the same exact size as the old window and all cuts be smooth not jagged to prevent tearing. The cuts around the bottom edge on the new window should aligned with old window to allow the studs to easily fit thought the metal retaining strip. Size isn't as crucial if replacing the entire convertible top. The biggest thing is to make sure that you have the center marked on the top Bow to align with the center mark on the top of the window. And to make sure the bottom of the window has it's center marked to line up with the center hole on the metal retaining strip. The Metal retaining strip has at the most an 1/8 of an inch of side to side movement, which is basically nothing. If you don't have your centers aligned you are going to get a wrinkle in the back window vinyl. Follow along in the video and I can't emphasize this enough take your time!!! Plan to take a whole day at least 8 hours or break it up into a few days and park your Mustang in a garage to keep the rain out till your done.
