Jordan Hicks sat out team drills during the Philadelphia Eagles' voluntary practices last week because of a quadricep spasm, but the second-year linebacker isn't concerned about the injury lingering.

Hicks, speaking Saturday before an autograph signing at the Rockvale Outlets in Lancaster, said he will participate in individual drills during next week's three-day minicamp. Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Hicks will be limited in the team portion of practice next week.

The Texas product suffered a season-ending torn pectoral muscle in November and spent the early parts of the offseason rehabbing. He participated in live team drills for the first time since the pectoral injury less than two weeks ago, but that's when he suffered his quad spasm.

Hicks said his newest injury was 'a minor little thing,' and that he could play through it if need be.

"I think [the injuries] are a product of each other," Hicks said. "Having to sit out for so long, and then jumping back into it caused [the quad injury]. It's nothing I haven't been through before. I've got enough time to get my body right and continue to build on what we've done."

Hicks added that his pectoral muscle feels back at full strength. He suffered the injury in an overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 8, a game in which he returned an interception for a touchdown.

"The pec is good," Hicks said. "It's healthy, man. I've been working it out this whole offseason, trying to get it back strong again."

Over the first nine weeks of his rookie season, Hicks made a positive impression on Eagles coaches and fans. The third-round pick filled in when the linebacking corps was hit with injuries, making 50 tackles, grabbing two interceptions and starting five games before his season came to an abrupt end in Dallas.

Hicks is set to start at inside linebacker this season in first-year defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz's 4-3 system.

For now, though, he's just looking forward to minicamp and the clean bill of health he expects to earn in the near future.

"I'm excited to get out there, man," Hicks said. "It's felt like so long. It's going to be a lot of fun."
