The Battle of Los Angeles may refer to:
The Battle of Los Angeles, also known as The Great Los Angeles Air Raid, is the name given by contemporary sources to the rumored enemy attack and subsequent anti-aircraft artillery barrage which took place from late 24 February to early 25 February 1942 over Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred less than three months after the United States entered World War II as a result of the Japanese Imperial Navy's attack on Pearl Harbor, and one day after the bombardment of Ellwood on 23 February.
Initially, the target of the aerial barrage was thought to be an attacking force from Japan, but speaking at a press conference shortly afterward, Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox called the incident a "false alarm." Newspapers of the time published a number of reports and speculations of a cover-up. Some modern-day UFOlogists have suggested the targets were extraterrestrial spacecraft. When documenting the incident in 1983, the U.S. Office of Air Force History attributed the event to a case of "war nerves" likely triggered by a lost weather balloon and exacerbated by stray flares and shell bursts from adjoining batteries.
Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.
In the early hours of February 25th, 1942, air raid sirens resounded across Los Angeles, California. The military fired roughly 1500 anti-aircraft machine gun rounds and artillery shells at some unknown object in the sky. So what really happened? The underwater autonomous vehicle is programmed to patrol the massive living structure in search of destructive crown-of-thorns starfish (COTS), which it then kills by lethal injection. Song: The Inside - Throwing Gravity Good Match This was definitely the "Cody Rhodes show" though as he was given the bulk of the offense and it never really felt like Callihan had a chance at winning. I did love the Mask vs Mask staredown though, one of my favorite moments from the whole tournament. Rating: 6.5/10
Song: Freakshow - Plan Three Really Good Match I always appreciate matches where they try to make both men equals in nearly every regard. Counters abound in this match and while Pentagons were all by the book Marty was a bit more "blunt" in his tactics. You can just see the desperation in Martys face anytime he goes for a move, while Pentagon keeps his composure throughout, even when getting his fingers dislocated, forcing them back into place just to send a message. It always makes for an enjoyable match when you have two similar styles between two guys with completely different personalities. Rating: 8/10
Song: Sick Of It - Skillet Pretty Good Match Given Liger's age and Hero's physique one likely wouldnt expect much from this match going in, but both of these guys held their own and put on an entertaining well told match, probably the best match in terms of putting together a story, as Hero's size and Ligers age both played a big role in what they were able to do, and who ended up coming out on top. Rating: 7/10
Battle Los Angeles is a 2011 military science fiction war film by Jonathan Liebesman in english version. The storyline was conceived from a screenplay written by Chris Bertolini, based in part on a wartime incident dubbed the Battle of Los Angeles. The film is set in modern-day Los Angeles and follows a retiring Marine Staff Sergeant played by Aaron Eckhart who must go back into the line of duty to lead a platoon of U.S. Marines, a U.S. Navy corpsman, isolated U.S. Army soldiers and a U.S. Air Force sergeant during a global alien invasion. The ensemble cast also features Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Peña. From 2011 to time, there'll be a closeup of Aaron Eckhart screaming something, for example, and on either side of that shot, there will be unr...

2023(1)+1839 The UFO Battle in Los Angeles in 1942 1942年・ロスUFO空中戦 Air raid sirens sounded throughout Los Angeles County on the night of 24–25 February 1942. A total blackout was ordered and thousands of air raid wardens were summoned to their positions. At 3:16 am the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade began firing .50 caliber machine guns and 12.8-pound anti-aircraft shells into the air at reported aircraft; over 1,400 shells would eventually be fired. Pilots of the 4th Interceptor Command were alerted but their aircraft remained grounded. The artillery fire continued sporadically until 4:14 am. The "all clear" was sounded and the blackout order lifted at 7:21 am. Several buildings and vehicles were damaged by shell fragments, and five civilians died as an indirect result of the anti-aircra...
