Dame Elizabeth Jane Campion DNZM (born 30 April 1954) is a New Zealand screenwriter, producer, and director. Campion is the second of four women ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director and is the first female filmmaker in history to receive the Palme d'Or, which she received for directing the acclaimed film The Piano (1993), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Campion was born in Wellington, New Zealand, the second daughter of Edith (née Beverley Georgette Hannah), an actress, writer, and heiress, and Richard M. Campion, a theatre and opera director. Her maternal great-grandfather was Robert Hannah, the shoe manufacturer of Antrim House. Her father was from a family of Exclusive Brethren. With her older sister, Anna, born a year and half before her, and brother, Michael, born seven years after, Campion grew up in the world of New Zealand theatre. Her parents founded the New Zealand Players theatre group. While initially rejecting the idea of a career in theatre or acting, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Victoria University of Wellington in 1975.

http://www.mannythemovieguy.com From The Piano to In the Cut, writer-director Jane Campion always puts strong women characters at the center. Whether shes a mute woman like Holly Hunters Oscar-winning role in The Piano or Meg Ryans writing professor in In the Cut, Campions heroines are mostly disempowered women living outside mainstream society. In Bright Star, Campions heroine is Fanny Brawne (the breathtaking Abbie Cornish), a smart, young dressmaker who will do anything if someone tries to break her relationship with the man she loves, the great romantic poet, John Keats (Ben Whishaw). Inspired by the acclaimed biography of Keats written by Andrew Motion, Campion focuses on the love story between Brawne and Keats. Told through the eyes of the poets love and inspiration, th...

Uwodząc mężczyznę, najpierw spycha go na dno rozpaczy, by później wynieść go na szczyt upojenia.Fortepian to książka, w której romantyzm spotyka się z erotyzmem, a uczucia pozytywne walczą z negatywnymi. Sceny drastyczne przeplatają się z poezją, ból łączy się z pięknem i nadzieją.Jane Campion (ur. 1954r.) to scenarzystka, reżyserka i producentka filmowa, autorka miedzy innymi filmów: Anioł przy moim stole (1990 nagroda na fes...
From the Film Australia Collection. Made by Film Australia 1984. Directed by Jane Campion. A sensitive portrayal of a young office worker who alleges sexual abuse by her employer. She loses her job as a result of her claims. This dramatised situation looks at the ways in which an employee can be victimised in an office environment without those around being aware of the situation. It pursues notions of truth such as legal truth, truth of experience and who possesses truth. The investigator for the case has a difficult task in extracting evidence from people associated with the manager and is left with many unanswered questions. One of Jane Campion's earliest films her unique vision is already obvious here. The themes and layered perspectives she would bring to many of her later feature fil...

Drinking ‘til six under the covered bridge
Talking ‘bout life until it’s light outside
We’ve lost our pride
And so we hide
Inside
Inside
Looking at you I lose my perspective
I know it ain’t long ‘til I realize
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
I was content with you as my therapist
I never thought you’d be a hypnotist
So retrace my mind
And leave me behind
Inside
Inside
So keep a straight face and call me a masochist
Plant down your feet and tear out my spine
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
You lie
