Sure to make a profit, long as the stock would soar
Seemed like such a great idea, everybody wanted in

But could not pay it back when the stock would drop
Lots of people got in debt, had to sell all their shares
When some start selling, everyone gets scared

What Caused the Great Depression?
The world seems to be crashing on you and there is no place to run. This could be a description of what people felt during the Wall Street Crash of 1929 (October 1929) which was also called as the Great Crash, and the Stock Market Crash of 1929. This disaster was the start of the Great Depression which lasted for 12 years and ended at the onset of World War II in 1941.
Stock Market Crash of 1929
October of 1929 saw the collapse of the stock market which obliterated 40 percent of the value of common paper stock. This represented only a single happening as the tragedy continued and more and more people became penniless which rendered them helpless in providing for the needs of their families. Folks were pleading for money and food for their children as they aimlessly roamed the streets. Multitude of businesses was closed and banks were declining. By 1932, an average of one out of four Americans were unemployed. Despair and hopelessness were mirrored on the faces of the people for they saw no hope in sight as all kinds of bad news filled the air.

The Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression in the decade preceding World War II. The timing of the Great Depression varied across nations, but in most countries it started in 1930 after the passage of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff bill (June 17), and lasted until the late 1930s or early 1940s. It was the longest, most widespread, and deepest depression of the 20th century.
In the 21st century, the Great Depression is commonly used as an example of how far the world's economy can decline. The depression originated in the U.S., after the fall in stock prices that began around September 4, 1929 and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 (known as Black Tuesday).
The Great Depression had devastating effects in countries rich and poor. Personal income, tax revenue, profits and prices dropped, while international trade plunged by more than 50%, due in large part to the Smoot-Hawley Tariff. Unemployment in the U.S. rose to 25%, and in some countries rose as high as 33%.

Stefan Basil Molyneux (born 24 September 1966) is a blogger, essayist, author, and host of the Freedomain Radio series of podcasts, living in Mississauga, Canada. He has written numerous articles and smaller essays which have been published on libertarian websites such as LewRockwell.com, antiwar.com and Strike The Root, recorded over 2000 podcasts, produced over 800 videos, and written several books which are self-published except for his first, which was published by Publish America. In 2006 Molyneux quit his previous job in the field of computer software and works full-time on Freedomain Radio, a philosophical community website which is funded through donations. He self-identifies as a full-time parent and philosopher.
Freedomain Radio is primarily an online podcast, however Molyneux also uses essays, videos, books, articles, interviews, and public speaking to deliver his content. The regular content of the show covers topics such as anarcho-capitalism, ethics, Austrian economics, atheism, religion, education, family, philosophy and politics. HOOVER DAM
Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was controversially named after President Herbert Hoover.
