Simba is a title character and the protagonist of Disney's most successful animated feature film, The Lion King. He is the son of Mufasa and Sarabi, nephew of Scar and Zira, mate of Nala, and father of Kiara and Kopa (Kopa is only seen in the books "The Lion King: Six New Adventures"). He has golden fur and when he grows into an adult, he has an auburn mane. The name "Simba" comes from the Swahili word for lion.
Simba is the prince of the Pride Lands, born to King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi.
Simba anticipates becoming the king of Pride Rock one day, much to the chagrin of his envious uncle Scar, who desires to become the king one day himself.
Simba is a playful cub who dreams of reigning over the Pride Lands and spends his days romping around with his close friend Nala, but is oblivious to his uncle's strong hatred of him and is unaware of Scar's plans to kill him so he can become the heir to the throne.
Admiring the extraordinary courage possessed by his father, Simba tries to prove himself as brave as Mufasa by venturing into an known as the "Elephant Graveyard" with his closest friend Nala (and against his will and by Simba's mother's orders having his father's loyal hornbill bird friend, Zazu follow and watch over them). However, the graveyard is the territory of Scar's three hyena comrades, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, who attempt to fulfill the commands assigned to them by Scar by trying to kill Simba and Nala. Fortunately, Zazu finds Mufasa and warns him of what's happening. Mufasa then manages to ward off the hyenas and is angered by Simba's disobedience, but soon forgives him after lecturing him about the dangers of his actions.

Plot: "African Time" is a phrase used to describe the relaxed attitude that many Africans exhibit towards time. It seems to have become a part of African culture in that most African events tend begin a few hours after the specified start time. This becomes frustrating to those Africans that like to be punctual. Ironically, many Africans that are late to various social events are seldom late to work and other self-benefiting engagements. This story humorously uses different events to explore the habit of late coming among Africans. While addressing some of the challenges that several Africans face with being on time, the story also unveils how to combat the infamous African Time.
