The Adria Compact has become what I believe to be the first small motorhome in Europe to have a slide out which increases the size of the bedroom considerably. Measuring only 599cm x 210cm, Adria is marketing it as a city motorhome and if trying to find tight parking for your vehicle is a priority then this could be the motorhome for you.

Der Mittelmeerraum ist die Sehnsuchtslandschaft der Deutschen - und die Adria ihre liebste Badewanne. Schon seit den Wirtschaftswunderjahren zieht es deutsche Familien bevorzugt an die italienische Adriaküste, und auch die kroatische Mittelmeerküste mit ihren mehr als 1000 Inseln ist ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel. Barbara Lueg und Stephan Merseburger zeigen weltweit bekannte Badeorte und Touristenmagneten wie Rimini, Venedig oder Dubrovnik, aber auch weitgehend unbekannte Buchten, leere Traumstrände und vergessene Orte.
Für ihre zweiteilige Dokumentation sind die ZDF-Reporter Barbara Lueg und Stephan Merseburger die Küste rechts und links des Adriatischen Meeres entlanggereist. Barbara Lueg startet im traditionsreichen italienischen Badeort Rimini, Stephan Merseburger und sein Team beginnen ihre Reise in der kroatischen Stadt Dubrovnik. Unterwegs passieren die beiden einzigartige Orte, sie kosten kulinarische Highlights und begegnen Menschen mit faszinierenden Geschichten. Immer wieder gegenwärtig sind aber auch die Folgen der Wirtschaftskrise, unter der die Adria-Anrainer Italien, Slowenien und Kroatien leiden.
Die zweiteilige Dokumentation beginnt in Dubrovnik. Stephan Merseburger stellt die kroatische Königin der Adria vor. Einst lebte die Stadt von Handel und Diplomatie, hat Krisen, Kriege und Katastrophen überstanden. Zuletzt die Bombenangriffe in den neunziger Jahren, die die Welt schockierten. Die Schäden sind repariert, heute ist Dubrovnik die eleganteste und teuerste Stadt Kroatiens. Doch viele Einheimische können sich die Stadt längst nicht mehr leisten - der Fluch von Erfolg und Schönheit.
Barbara Lueg startet ihre Reise im italienischen Rimini, das vom Urlaubstraum deutscher Wirtschaftswunderfamilien zum Lieblingsziel trink- und partyfreudiger junger Europäer wurde. Daneben aber spürt man in der Stadt noch den Glanz des mondänen Seebads vergangener Zeiten - etwa im ehrwürdigen Grand Hotel di Rimini.
Zwischen Dubrovnik und Split geraten Stephan Merseburger und sein Team an eine Landesgrenze: Hier ist die nur wenige Kilometer lange Küste von Bosnien-Herzegowina. In der Küstenstadt Neum machte die Verwaltungselite aus Belgrad Urlaub, als es Jugoslawien noch gab - entsprechend einladend sind die Hotels dort. Bosnien ist heilfroh über den Zugang zur Adria, den Kroaten aber ist er ein Dorn im Auge.
Dort, wo der Po in die Adria fließt, hat sich eine bizarre und bestechend schöne Lagunenlandschaft entfaltet, die touristisch kaum erschlossen ist: ein riesiges Delta mit langen, tief verzweigten Flussarmen, Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO. "Dies hier ist mein Paradies. Es ist still, alles geht langsam, die Natur ist atemberaubend", schwärmt Enrico, der seit vier Jahrzehnten dort Ranger ist.
Ganz anders erlebt Stephan Merseburger die kroatische Insel Hvar, mit angeblich 2724 Sonnenstunden im Jahr der sonnigste Ort Kroatiens und ein Hort des Luxus' und des Jet-Sets. Die Insel ist berühmt für ihre luxuriösen Hotels und eine ausschweifende Partyszene und gilt als das Saint-Tropez der Adria. Mit Taxibooten, einem in Kroatien unerlässlichen Verkehrsmittel, finden auch Einheimische den Weg hierher.
"Ein Leben ohne das Meer, ohne diesen Geruch könnte ich mir gar nicht vorstellen", sagt Domenico. Seit Generationen lebt seine Familie von der Muschelfischerei auf der schmalen Insel Pellestrina vor den Toren Venedigs. Doch illegale Fischer machen Domenico und seinen Kollegen das Leben schwer; denn die Muscheln gedeihen am besten in dem dreckigen Wasser, in das giftige Schwermetalle geleitet werden. Dort ist die Muschelfischerei verboten, aber genau dort sammeln die illegalen Fischer die Muscheln - wenn sie nicht von der nächtlichen Polizeipatrouille geschnappt werden.
Split war lange nur eine Durchgangsstation für Urlauber.Doch mitten in der Stadt pulsiert das Leben. Die Altstadt mit ihren Bars, Geschäften und engen Gassen ist ein bezaubernder Ort. Im Hinterland liegt Knin, in den karstigen Bergen der Krajina. Auf dem Weg dorthin sind Geisterstädte, vom Krieg gezeichnet. Knin war eine Hochburg der Serben in Kroatien. Vier Jahre lang tobte dort der Krieg, 1995 eroberten die Kroaten Knin zurück. Noch heute ist Knin eine Hochburg kroatischer Nationalisten.
"Man sollte alle Politiker, die hier entscheiden, einfach ins Meer schmeißen", schimpft die alte Dame. Contessa Tudy Sammartini stammt aus einer alten, schwerreichen venezianischen Familie. Im Lauf der Jahrzehnte entwickelte sie eine Art Hassliebe zu ihrer Stadt. Die alte Großmacht an der Adria wankt, weil Raubbau mit ihr betrieben wird. Auch deshalb wehren sich viele Einwohner gegen die Touristenmassen und riesigen Kreuzfahrtschiffe. Mit Barbara Luegs Streifzug durch das schöne und so bedrohte Venedig endet der ersteTeil der Reise entlang der Adriaküste.

Adria is a town and comune in the province of Rovigo in the Veneto region of Northern Italy, situated between the mouths of the rivers Adige and Po.
The Etruscan city of Adria ("Hatria") is below the modern city, three to four metres below the current level. Adria ("Hatria") may have given its name during an early period to the Adriatic Sea, to which it was connected by channels. Adria and Spina were the Etruscan ports and depots for Felsina (now Bologna).
The first settlements built on the area are of Venetic origin, during the 12-9th century BC. At that time the main stream of the Po, the Adria channel, flowed into the sea by this area. The Villanovan culture, named for an archaeological site at the village of Villanova, near Bologna (Etruscan Felsina), flourished in this area from the 10th until as late as the 6th century BC. The foundations of classical Atria are dated from 530 to 520 BC.
The Etruscans built the port and settlement of Adria after the channel was not the main stream anymore. During the later period of the 6th century BC the port continued to flourish. The Etruscan-controlled area of the Po Valley was generally known as Padan Etruria (Padan meant 'Po River'; cf. Celtic *dānu 'river'), as opposed to their main concentration along the Tyrrhenian coast south of the Arno.

Der Mittelmeerraum ist die Sehnsuchtslandschaft der Deutschen - und die Adria ihre liebste Badewanne. Schon seit den Wirtschaftswunderjahren zieht es deutsche Familien bevorzugt an die italienische Adriaküste, und auch die kroatische Mittelmeerküste mit ihren mehr als 1000 Inseln ist ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel. Barbara Lueg und Stephan Merseburger zeigen weltweit bekannte Badeorte und Touristenmagneten wie Rimini, Venedig oder Dubrovnik, aber auch weitgehend unbekannte Buchten, leere Traumstrände und vergessene Orte.
Für ihre zweiteilige Dokumentation sind die ZDF-Reporter Barbara Lueg und Stephan Merseburger die Küste rechts und links des Adriatischen Meeres entlanggereist. Barbara Lueg startet im traditionsreichen italienischen Badeort Rimini, Stephan Merseburger und sein Team beginnen ihre Reise in der kroatischen Stadt Dubrovnik. Unterwegs passieren die beiden einzigartige Orte, sie kosten kulinarische Highlights und begegnen Menschen mit faszinierenden Geschichten. Immer wieder gegenwärtig sind aber auch die Folgen der Wirtschaftskrise, unter der die Adria-Anrainer Italien, Slowenien und Kroatien leiden.
Die zweiteilige Dokumentation beginnt in Dubrovnik. Stephan Merseburger stellt die kroatische Königin der Adria vor. Einst lebte die Stadt von Handel und Diplomatie, hat Krisen, Kriege und Katastrophen überstanden. Zuletzt die Bombenangriffe in den neunziger Jahren, die die Welt schockierten. Die Schäden sind repariert, heute ist Dubrovnik die eleganteste und teuerste Stadt Kroatiens. Doch viele Einheimische können sich die Stadt längst nicht mehr leisten - der Fluch von Erfolg und Schönheit.
Barbara Lueg startet ihre Reise im italienischen Rimini, das vom Urlaubstraum deutscher Wirtschaftswunderfamilien zum Lieblingsziel trink- und partyfreudiger junger Europäer wurde. Daneben aber spürt man in der Stadt noch den Glanz des mondänen Seebads vergangener Zeiten - etwa im ehrwürdigen Grand Hotel di Rimini.
Zwischen Dubrovnik und Split geraten Stephan Merseburger und sein Team an eine Landesgrenze: Hier ist die nur wenige Kilometer lange Küste von Bosnien-Herzegowina. In der Küstenstadt Neum machte die Verwaltungselite aus Belgrad Urlaub, als es Jugoslawien noch gab - entsprechend einladend sind die Hotels dort. Bosnien ist heilfroh über den Zugang zur Adria, den Kroaten aber ist er ein Dorn im Auge.
Dort, wo der Po in die Adria fließt, hat sich eine bizarre und bestechend schöne Lagunenlandschaft entfaltet, die touristisch kaum erschlossen ist: ein riesiges Delta mit langen, tief verzweigten Flussarmen, Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO. "Dies hier ist mein Paradies. Es ist still, alles geht langsam, die Natur ist atemberaubend", schwärmt Enrico, der seit vier Jahrzehnten dort Ranger ist.
Ganz anders erlebt Stephan Merseburger die kroatische Insel Hvar, mit angeblich 2724 Sonnenstunden im Jahr der sonnigste Ort Kroatiens und ein Hort des Luxus' und des Jet-Sets. Die Insel ist berühmt für ihre luxuriösen Hotels und eine ausschweifende Partyszene und gilt als das Saint-Tropez der Adria. Mit Taxibooten, einem in Kroatien unerlässlichen Verkehrsmittel, finden auch Einheimische den Weg hierher.
"Ein Leben ohne das Meer, ohne diesen Geruch könnte ich mir gar nicht vorstellen", sagt Domenico. Seit Generationen lebt seine Familie von der Muschelfischerei auf der schmalen Insel Pellestrina vor den Toren Venedigs. Doch illegale Fischer machen Domenico und seinen Kollegen das Leben schwer; denn die Muscheln gedeihen am besten in dem dreckigen Wasser, in das giftige Schwermetalle geleitet werden. Dort ist die Muschelfischerei verboten, aber genau dort sammeln die illegalen Fischer die Muscheln - wenn sie nicht von der nächtlichen Polizeipatrouille geschnappt werden.
Split war lange nur eine Durchgangsstation für Urlauber.Doch mitten in der Stadt pulsiert das Leben. Die Altstadt mit ihren Bars, Geschäften und engen Gassen ist ein bezaubernder Ort. Im Hinterland liegt Knin, in den karstigen Bergen der Krajina. Auf dem Weg dorthin sind Geisterstädte, vom Krieg gezeichnet. Knin war eine Hochburg der Serben in Kroatien. Vier Jahre lang tobte dort der Krieg, 1995 eroberten die Kroaten Knin zurück. Noch heute ist Knin eine Hochburg kroatischer Nationalisten.
"Man sollte alle Politiker, die hier entscheiden, einfach ins Meer schmeißen", schimpft die alte Dame. Contessa Tudy Sammartini stammt aus einer alten, schwerreichen venezianischen Familie. Im Lauf der Jahrzehnte entwickelte sie eine Art Hassliebe zu ihrer Stadt. Die alte Großmacht an der Adria wankt, weil Raubbau mit ihr betrieben wird. Auch deshalb wehren sich viele Einwohner gegen die Touristenmassen und riesigen Kreuzfahrtschiffe. Mit Barbara Luegs Streifzug durch das schöne und so bedrohte Venedig endet der ersteTeil der Reise entlang der Adriaküste.
