The Fort of Moti

1. Jampore Beach
This palm-shaded beach is the most enchanting beach in Daman. Here you can spend some moments of
peace and quiet in the company of nature.
The beach is ideal for casual swimmers as its famous for its calm waters and during low tide one can easily go further into the sea.
2. Fort
Jerome
The small fort with a giant gateway facing the river with a large statue of
St.Jerome and two giant human figures, on either side of the gateway encloses an area of 12250 sq.m., it is must see when you are in Daman. A place of historical importance and remembrance ever since the
Portuguese were ruling this place. The fort was constructed in order to keep watch on the activities in the sea.
3. Bom
Jesus Church
The construction of the church began in 1559 AD and was completed in 1603
AD. Bom Jesus Church displays its remarkable and brilliant roman styled architecture.
Inside the church you will find 6 beautiful statues of the
Saints. The altar of the church are carved from wood and is a fine specimen of the Portuguese artisans.
4. Diu fort
It is a calm and quiet place. The fort was built in 1535 subsequent to a defense alliance forged by
Bahadur Shah, the
Sultan of Gujarat and the Portuguese. A large light house is also located at one end of the fort. Even now the ruins of the walls, gateways, arches, ramps, bastions of the fort provide an impressive view.
5. Gangeshwar

Here you can find 5 shivlings that lie amidst the rocks and are lulled by the tidal waves of the sea during high tides. It is believed that the Pandavas during their exile worshipped
Lord Shiva here.
