"Oceania" , also known as "Oceanica", is a region centered on the islands of the tropical Pacific Ocean. Opinions of what constitutes Oceania range from its three subregions of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia to, more broadly, the entire insular region between Asia and the Americas, including Australasia and the Malay Archipelago.
The term is often used more specifically to denote a continent comprising Australia and proximate islands
or biogeographically as a synonym for either the Australasian ecozone or the Pacific ecozone .
The term was coined as "Océanie" circa 1812 by geographer Conrad Malte-Brun. The word "Océanie" is a French language word derived from Latin word "", and this from Greek word , ocean.
As an ecozone, Oceania includes all of Micronesia, Fiji, and all of Polynesia except New Zealand. New Zealand, along with New Guinea and nearby islands, part of Philippines islands, Australia, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia, constitute the separate Australasian ecozone. In geopolitical terms, however, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia are almost always considered part of Oceania, and Australia and Papua New Guinea are usually considered part of Oceania too. The rest are Maluku Islands and Papua, as Puncak Jaya is often considered the highest peak in Oceania.
Oceania was originally conceived as the lands of the Pacific Ocean, stretching from the Strait of Malacca to the coast of the Americas. It comprised four regions: "Polynesia", "Micronesia", "Malaysia" , and "Melanesia" . Today, parts of three geological continents are included in the term "Oceania": Eurasia, Australia, and Zealandia, as well the non-continental volcanic islands of the Philippines, Wallacea, and the open Pacific. The area extends to Sumatra in the west, the Bonin Islands in the northwest, the Hawaiian Islands in the northeast, Rapa Nui and Sala y Gómez Island in the east, and Macquarie Island in the south. Not included are the Pacific islands of Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands and the Japanese archipelago, all on the margins of Asia, and the Aleutian Islands of North America.

At mark 00:37 is Micronesia which comprises of four main islands; the Yap, Rumung, Gagil-tomil and Map all surrounded by a coral reef. These are simple dignified people mostly Malaysian in origin. At mark 1:55, the story of the tower to the sky is made known. At the close of the rainy season, the U.S Coast Guard arrive again bearing equipment to build the station. Here at mark 3:00 is the head of the village of Gagil. Even before his time there had been the Spanish rule. In his own lifetime, he’s had himself different promises as seen at mark 3:10 and also here we also see the failure of those promises. Today, the district trust territory headquarter building in Colonia, capital of yap as seen at mark 3:50 is evidence of people living under another type of rule. Comings and goings as yap remains as it was years ago. At mark 5:00 is the custom of the yap people. Here are the symbols in their clothing. At mark 6:40 are cargoes for the Gagil-tomil Island. First, a cement block or two and in a few days, it grows into a wall. At mark 13:33, the elder is seen inspecting the building. At mark 14:10, tanks are joined together. At mark 14:50, the antenna tower is been coupled. The majority of the Yapese profess Christianity; 90% of the roman camps as seen at mark 15:35. The next day, the erection of the tower began as seen at mark 16:10 as the coupling began with section by section. Oceania ecozone
The Oceania ecozone is one of the World Wildlife Fund-WWF ecozones, and is unique in not including any continental land mass. It is the smallest in land area of the WWF ecozones.
This ecozone includes the islands of the Pacific Ocean in: Micronesia, the Fijian Islands, the Hawaiian islands, and Polynesia (with the exception of New Zealand).
New Zealand, Australia, and most of Melanesia including New Guinea, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, and New Caledonia are included within the Australasia ecozone.
Geology
Oceania, is geologically the youngest ecozone. While other ecozones include old continental land masses or fragments of continents, Oceania is composed mostly of volcanic high islands and coral atolls that arose from the sea in geologically recent times, many of them in the Pleistocene. They were created either by hotspot volcanism, or as island arcs pushed upward by the collision and subduction of tectonic plates. The islands range from tiny islets, sea stacks and coral atolls to large mountainous islands, like Hawaii and Fiji.

Here at mark 3:00 is the head of the village of Gagil. Even before his time there had been the Spanish rule. In his own lifetime, he’s had himself different promises as seen at mark 3:10 and also here we also see the failure of those promises. Today, the district trust territory headquarter building in Colonia, capital of yap as seen at mark 3:50 is evidence of people living under another type of rule.
