Kuala Lumpur (/ˈkwɑːləˈlʊmpʊər/ or /-pər/; Malaysian pronunciation: [ˈkwalə ˈlumpʊr]) is the national capital and most populous global city in Malaysia. The city covers an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.6 million as of 2010.Greater Kuala Lumpur, covering similar area as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.5 million people as of 2012. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia, in terms of population and economy.
Kuala Lumpur is the seat of the Parliament of Malaysia. The city was once home to the executive and judicial branches of the federal government, but they were moved to Putrajaya in early 1999. Some sections of the judiciary still remain in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The official residence of the Malaysian King, the Istana Negara, is also situated in Kuala Lumpur. Rated as an alpha world city, Kuala Lumpur is the cultural, financial and economic centre of Malaysia due to its position as the capital as well as being a key city. Kuala Lumpur is defined within the borders of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and is one of three Malaysian Federal Territories. It is an enclave within the state of Selangor, on the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Since the 1990s, the city has played host to many international sporting, political and cultural events including the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the Formula One Grand Prix. In addition, Kuala Lumpur is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers, which have become an iconic symbol of Malaysia's futuristic development.
The Bukit Peninsula (Indonesian:Semenanjung Bukit) is at the southern end of the island of Bali, Indonesia. It is traditionally considered to be the entire area south of Jimbaran beach. Unlike the bulk of the rest of the island, it features a dry, arid and stony landscape. It is administered under Kuta South District. Bukit means 'hill' in Indonesian.
The Indonesian government has encouraged the development of the area — instead of more fertile land — for large upmarket tourist facilities. It is a popular destination for surfers, particularly at Uluwatu.
This area has undergone large scale investment and growth during the early 2000s, partially owing to its proximity to the Ngurah Rai International Airport (the only international one in Bali) and the stunning ocean views from its cliff tops. In 2006 a new golf course (Bali's 4th) started construction. Bukit now hosts international hotels.

Bukit Lawang is a small tourist village at the bank of Bahorok River in North Sumatra province of Indonesia. Situated approximately 86 km north-west of Medan, Bukit Lawang is known for the largest animal sanctuary of Sumatran orangutan (around 5,000 orangutans occupy the area), and also the main access point to the Gunung Leuser National Park from the east side.
Bukit Lawang rehabilitation center for orangutans was founded in 1973. The main purpose is to preserve the decreasing number of orangutan population due to hunting, trading and deforestation.
A flash flood hit Bukit Lawang on 2 November 2003. The disaster destroyed the local tourist resorts and had a devastating impact to the local tourism industry in the area. Around 400 houses, 3 mosques, 8 bridges, 280 kiosks and food stalls, 35 hotels and guest houses were destroyed by the flood, including 239 people (5 of them were tourists) were killed and around 1,400 locals lost their homes. Local authorities and an environmental NGO attributed it to illegal logging. Thanks to several international cooperation agencies, the site was rebuilt and re-opened again in July 2004.

Large scale deforestation due to forestry activities since the 1980s have eroded the remaining thin layer of top soil and led to impoverished sandy soil in YUM’s working area of Bukit Batu. As a result, the communities, due to their lack of necessary knowledge to address this problem, have great difficulties to produce fresh food and have to purchase it at high costs. Thanks to funding from SD Germany and the German government, after over a year of research and trials, the YUM Agro Kalimantan team started training in villages with 60 local participants within the Bukit Batu region. The fact that YUM demonstration gardens have been established in two sites with different types of soil has been crucial for the program. The YUM run Rural Centres are functioning well with both caretakers ...

In this travel video we take a train ride from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth and then a commuter ferry from Butterworth to Penang (George Town), Malaysia on a long full-day journey. Given that it was our first train trip in Malaysia we were ecstatic to have a 7 hour journey. Boarding from KL Sentral we headed up north passing several cities, countryside areas, jungle and mountainous regions. Overall, the scenery was stunning and we nearly had the train to ourselves sharing a cabin with only a few families and some curious cute children who came over to play with us. Along the way we snacked on some food and ended up purchasing a box of mixed rice that we shared together. Our train was delayed by nearly one hour meaning it came closer to eight hours than the scheduled seven. Upon arrivi...

Uruguay is emerging as one of South America’s favorite destinations. Its capital Montevideo has a warm, temperate climate, pleasant sea breezes and miles of boulevards. From Montevideo’s Telecommunications Tower you can see the hill that gave the city its name. Another tower, the Palacio Salvo looms high above the Plaza Independencia in the City Center. Under this square is the mausoleum for the country’s revolutionary hero José Artigas. Nearby Plaza Matriz is the city’s oldest square and home to the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral, the focal point of Uruguay’s Old Town. Soccer is big here and in 1930 Uruguay hosted and won the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Estadio Centenario. Another proud local tradition is “parrilla" and the best way to try it is to buy cuts of meat in the M...
