Hemkosh (Assamese: হেমকোষ, IPA: [hɛmkʊx]) is the first etymological dictionary of the Assamese Language based on Sanskrit spellings, compiled by Hemchandra Barua. It was first published in 1900 under the supervision of Capt. P. R. Gordon, ISC and Hemchandra Goswami, 33 years after the publication of the Bronson’s dictionary. It contained about 22,346 words. This dictionary still published by Hemkosh Printers is considered to be the Standard reference of the Assamese Language.
Hemkosh is actually the second dictionary of Assamese language. The first Assamese dictionary was compiled by Dr. Miles Bronson, an American Baptist Missionary. His Dictionary, published in 1867 at American Baptist Mission Press Sibsagar, is out of print now. Bronson’s work did not pretend to be an etymological dictionary but contained a very considerable collection of words culled from the lips of the people but without derivations.
Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy-to-understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses do not replace copyright, but are based upon it. They replace individual negotiations for specific rights between copyright owner (licensor) and licensee, which are necessary under an "all rights reserved" copyright management, with a "some rights reserved" management employing standardized licenses for re-use cases where no commercial compensation is sought by the copyright owner. The result is an agile, low-overhead and low-cost copyright-management regime, profiting both copyright owners and licensees. Wikipedia uses one of these licenses.

OK, on a more serious note: 1) No, we aren't making fun of OUR LANGUAGE - we CANNOT and we WILL NOT. For a language that has a centuries-old legacy, it would be downright naive to think of attempting to display even the slightest of disdain towards it. 2) However, we ARE making fun of our pronunciation of words that are not even native, per se, to Assamese. To equate that with insulting of any language is downright preposterous. 3) YES, we know that's not how you pronounce stuff. We do not too, nor does any Tom, Dick or Harry in our vicinity. It wouldn't be funny if everyone actually pronounced words that way. Nobody does, and THAT MAKES IT FUNNY.

The Helvetii were a Gallic tribe or tribal confederation occupying most of the Swiss plateau at the time of their contact with the Roman Republic in the 1st century BC.According to Julius Caesar, the Helvetians were divided into four subgroups or pagi.Of these Caesar only names the Verbigeni and the Tigurini, while Posidonius mentions the Tigurini and the Tougeni .They feature prominently in the Commentaries on the Gallic War, with their failed migration attempt to southwestern Gaul serving as a catalyst for Caesar's conquest of Gaul. ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- About the author(s): Samuel Butler License: Public domain ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- This channel is dedicated to make Wikipedia, one of the biggest knowledge databases in the world available to people with lim...
