Ital Tek

Edit The Quietus 04 Apr 2016
There's still intestine-shifting sub bass at the heart of Hollowed's tracks, underpinning and driving them forwards all at once (these tracks are going to sound as heavy as wrecking balls when played live), but the album's genesis, which saw Myson retreat into his studio for the best part of two years, in order to record minidiscs of effects-laden guitar drones, much as he did in his teenage years ... ....

Edit The Verge 27 Mar 2016
Which is the Sony that stokes your nostalgia? ... But for me, it’s the Sony that pumped out product after product throughout the ‘90s with what was unbeatable attention to detail at the time; a futuristic and coherent design aesthetic connecting the countless DVD players, VAIO PCs, and MiniDisc Walkmans. 5 Reasons Sony's UMD Format Never Flourished

Edit About.com 21 Feb 2016
Obviously, the folks at Sony thought a tiny optical disc was the perfect format for their portable PlayStation. Gamers and critics weren't so enthusiastic, and perhaps Sony should have remembered the fate of the similar music format the MiniDisc (essentially a teeny tiny CD). I watched as YouTube videos and poor-quality videos were showing up, but if it was good material, people would engage with it, so I knew that even if an interview was recorded by someone on a microcassette player or a phone or MiniDisc, if it had value, impact, it still could be powerful, and it just kind of grew from there." ...
