Arsh Shah Dilbagi

Arsh Shah Dilbagi (born March 26, 1998) is an Indian entrepreneur, roboticist and inventor. He is popularly known as Robo. He is the Founder and CEO of Arido and the Founder of Saroid, about which very little has been made public. Though honored two times by consecutive Presidents of India, he was globally recognised at the age of 16 after his invention 'TALK' won the Voter's Choice Award at Google Science Fair 2014 at Mountain View, California, USA. He also won four awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2015 held at Pittsburgh, USA.

Career

In April 2015, Dilbagi was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of India STEM Foundation, an NGO that promotes STEM education through robotics and hosts competitions like World Robot Olympiad and FIRST LEGO League in India.

In August 2015, Dilbagi established an exhibit housing a quadruped robot dog, which he calls CLUMSY, at the Science and Innovation Museum at President's Estate, New Delhi. The exhibit is named 'A Day in the Life of a Robot Dog - CLUMSY'. It attracts thousands of visitors every week and inspires them to pursue robotics. The museum was inaugurated by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee on August 5, 2015.

DeMar DeRozan

DeMar Darnell DeRozan (born August 7, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for USC and was selected ninth overall by the Raptors in the 2009 NBA draft. In 2016, he was named an NBA All-Star for the second time in three years.

High school career

DeRozan attended Compton High School and was ranked as one of the top college recruits in the nation from the class of 2008. He was ranked #3 in the nation by Rivals.com and #6 by Scout.com.

He played on the varsity basketball team for all four years of high school. As a freshman, he averaged 26.1 points and 8.4 rebounds. During his sophomore year, he averaged 22.6 points and 8.4 rebounds, while as a junior he averaged 22.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.2 steals.

As a senior averaging 29.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg, DeRozan led Compton High School to a 26-6 record, a second consecutive Moore League championship and the CIF Division IAA Southern Section quarter-finals. For his efforts he was awarded the Moore League Most Valuable Player Award and named to the California All-State team. DeRozan was a member of the 2008 McDonald's All-American Team, and also won the 2008 McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Competition. He was also invited to play in the 2008 Jordan Brand Classic at Madison Square Garden and the Nike Hoop Summit, where he scored a team-high 17 points. DeRozan's achievements on the court in his senior year saw him earn first-team Parade All-American honors and First Team Best in the West honors.

Robert Uhlmann

Robert William Uhlmann (August 16, 1919 – December 7, 1941) was an officer of the United States Navy who was killed during the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor.

Early life

Uhlmann was born on August 16, 1919 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended the College of Engineering, University of Michigan, from 1937 until 1940. On September 1940, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve as an apprentice seaman and, during November and December, trained in USS Arkansas (BB-33). Following his appointment as a midshipman in the Naval Reserve on March 17, 1941, he trained at the Midshipman School, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, and on June 12, 1941 was commissioned ensign. After additional training, he reported to Patrol Squadron 24 on August 1, 1941. This squadron, a part of Patrol Wing 2 stationed at Naval Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, was redesignated Patrol Squadron 12 (VP-12) on October 1941.

Pearl Harbor attack

On the morning of December 7, 1941, as the incredulous commander of Patrol Wing 1 investigated reports that a plane of the dawn patrol had depth-charged a Japanese submarine only a mile from the entrance of Pearl Harbor, nine Japanese fighters circled low over the airfield at Kaneohe and then attacked, machine-gunning the control tower and leaving planes in flames in the bay and on the ramp. The men of VP-12 sprang into action without regard for personal safety, exposing themselves to the deadly fire of the enemy planes as they sought to save planes not yet destroyed and to fight off the raiders. The Japanese fighters strafed automobiles trying to reach the field and concentrated attention on men attempting to man guns in the grounded planes. Everyone on station joined the duty sections in combatting the surprise attackers.
