The Dean Burgon Society is an organization that promotes and defends the King James Bible and the underlying Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. It should not be confused with the academic Burgon Society. They are separate organizations.
The Dean Burgon Society is an organization which promotes the so-called King James Only position through publications and seminars, although D. A. Waite, the current head of the society, has claimed that "King James Only" is a slanderous term. They make extensive amounts of information available online, as well as selling printed material.
The society is named after Dean Burgon, who made a strong stand in support for the so-called traditional text. He was also a major critic of Westcott and Hort, and the Revised Version of the Bible. Although in his writings one can find many critical notes about Textus Receptus, e.g. "Traditional Text not identical with the Received Text". Burgon rejected Textus Receptus in Acts 8:37, the Comma Johanneum, the last six verses of Apocalypse, he suggested 150 corrections in the Textus Receptus Gospel of Matthew alone. Burgon in his Revision Revised several times declares that the Textus Receptus needs correction. According to Daniel B. Wallace, Burgon's views would disqualify him from membership in the society named after him, since that society staunchly defends the Textus Receptus. D. A. Waite has responded to these claims, although does not specifically address issues including but not limited to the Comma, or the phrase 'raise the dead' in Matthew 10:8, which Burgon explicitly rejected but which appears in the Textus Receptus, the King James, and virtually all other critical texts and derivative translations.
Demographically, the Roman Empire was an ordinary premodern state. It had high infant mortality, a low marriage age, and high fertility within marriage. Perhaps half of Roman subjects died by the age of 5. Of those still alive at age 10, half would die by the age of 50. Roman women could expect to bear on average 6 to 9 children.
At its peak, after the Antonine Plague of the 160s CE, it had a population of about 60 million and a population density of about 16 persons per square kilometer. In contrast to the European societies of the classical and medieval periods, Rome had unusually high urbanization rates. During the 2nd century CE, the city of Rome had more than one million inhabitants. No Western city would have as many again until the 19th century.
For the Mediterranean and its hinterlands, the period from the second millennium BCE to the early first millennium CE was one of substantial population growth. What would become the territory of the Roman Empire saw an average annual population growth of about 0.1 per cent from the 12th century BCE to the 3rd century CE, resulting in a quadrupling of the region's total population. Growth was slower in the eastern Mediterranean, which was already more developed at the beginning of the period, on the order of about 0.07 per cent per year. This was stronger growth than that seen in the succeeding period; from about 200 CE to 1800 CE, the European half of the empire only saw about 0.06 to 0.07 per cent annual growth (Europe as a whole saw 0.1 per cent annual growth rates), and the African and Asian parts of the empire saw almost no growth at all.

Awake Out Of Sleep – Romans 13:6-13 – Pastor D. A. Waite – BFTBC
I’m spending a lot of time in Rome these days. Writing The 5 AM Club, shooting teaching videos, crafting new leadership models and running the ancient streets before the Romans awake. And so, with your highest performance + greatest life at the front of my intentions, I made this new Mastery Session for you. In it, I’ll walk you through insights on how to x20 the quality of your work (based on Italian examples like Moncler and Ferrari), ways to scale your inspiration (from art like Trevi) and a lesson from a master in a cheese shop to make life vastly better [thank you Roberto!].
