In heraldry and heraldic vexillology, a blazon is a formal description of a coat of arms, flag or similar emblem, from which the reader can reconstruct the appropriate image. The visual depiction of a coat of arms or flag traditionally has considerable latitude in design, while a blazon specifies the essentially distinctive elements; thus it can be said that a coat of arms or flag is primarily defined not by a picture but rather by the wording of its blazon (though often flags are in modern usage additionally and more precisely defined using geometrical specifications). Blazon also refers to the specialized language in which a blazon is written, and, as a verb, to the act of writing such a description. This language has its own vocabulary, grammar and syntax, or rules governing word order, which becomes essential for comprehension when blazoning a complex coat of arms.
Other objects, such as badges, banners, and seals may be described in blazon.
The traditional etymology, as stated for example in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, 9th Edition, states the verb to derive from the Old German blasen, to blow a horn. At the dawn of heraldry in Teutonic lands, a knight on making his entrance would be announced to the assembly by a certain series of musical notes, describing his armourials, blown by the herald. These notes, when heard by the educated hearer of the chivalric order, enabled him at once to mentally reconstruct the coat, thus identifying the entrant. Modern dictionaries do not subscribe to this view, yet have proposed no alternative etymology.
I relive the same old dream day and night
Memories of love I knew
I couldn’t live my life, or so it seemed
My heart cried out for only you
Oh, I believe in love, girl I believe in you
Things you do, I’m falling in love again with you
A broken heart can mend if given time
I know why love is forever, love is forever with you
With every passing day I realise
That time will never heal the pain
You’re all that I’ve been thinking of
Can’t we fall in love again
Oh, I believe in love, girl I believe in you
Things you do, I’m falling in love again with you
A broken heart can mend if given time
I know why love is forever, love is forever with you
Every road will lead me back to you again, my love
Oh I cry so many tears, I couldn’t face another day without you
So tell me you care
Oh, ooh, ooh, yeah, I believe in love, cos I believe in you
Things you do, I’m falling in love again with you
I tried to let it go but it wouldn’t die
