Embattled Gov. Robert Bentley this afternoon agreed to a deal that forced him to resign the office of governor, plead guilty to two misdemeanors and agree to never again hold public office.
The extraordinary agreement, hammered out over the weekend and throughout the day by lawyers for the Alabama Attorney General's office and Bentley attorneys Chuck Malone and Cooper Shattuck, requires Bentley to repay the state for misused funds and perform community service.
In response, the state attorney general's office will not pursue other felonies against Bentley, including those referred for prosecution last week by the Alabama Ethics Commission.

Here are some examples of an effect known as Parallax, created from still images.
From Dictionary.com:
Parallax: The apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer.
Simple terms: Objects spaced at varying distances from a viewer will appear to move or scale differently, based on the objects distance from the observer. This is something anyone with binocular vision experiences every waking second of every day.
Since a single photograph only contains one point of view, creating a parallax effect takes a few steps:
First, the image is cut into multiple sections, each cut section being at different distances from the camera. After the photos have been sliced into multiple layers and the holes filled in (yes, you have to fabricate some of the background, a slow but usually pretty easy process in Photoshop) the layers are then brought into After Effects and separated in Z-Space (pushed away from the viewer in 3D space). If the layers are put approximately in the correct distance from the virtual camera, mimicking the distance from the original image, a believable parallax "video" can be made with simple virtual camera moments.
Most of these were used on a project for Rend Lake, but there are also examples taken from political commercials, as well as images used at the Old State House (Little Rock, AR).

Bentley
Bentley Motors Limited (/ˈbɛntli/) is a British registered company that designs, develops, and manufactures Bentley luxury motorcars which are largely hand-built. It is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG. Now based in Crewe, England, Bentley Motors Limited was founded by W. O. Bentley on 18 January 1919 in Cricklewood, North London.
Bentley cars are sold via franchised dealers worldwide, and as of November 2012, China was the largest market.
Most Bentley cars are assembled at the Crewe factory, but a small number of Continental Flying Spurs are assembled at the factory in Dresden, Germany. and bodies for the Continental are produced in Zwickau, Germany.
Bentley won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, and 2003.
Iconic Bentley models include the Bentley 4½ Litre, Bentley Speed Six, Bentley R Type Continental, Bentley Turbo R, and Bentley Arnage. As of 2015, Bentley produce the Continental Flying Spur, Continental GT, and Mulsanne.
Rolls-Royce bought Bentley from the receivers in 1931 and subsequently sold it to Vickers plc in 1980 when Rolls-Royce themselves went bankrupt. In 1998, Vickers sold it to Volkswagen AG. The sale included the vehicle designs, model nameplates, production and administrative facilities, the Spirit of Ecstasy and Rolls-Royce grille shape trademarks, but not the rights to the Rolls-Royce name or logo which are owned by Rolls-Royce Holdings plc and were licensed to BMW AG.

The name Robert is a Germanic given name, from Proto-Germanic *χrōþi- "fame" and *berχta- "bright". Compare Old Dutch Robrecht and Old High German Hrodebert (a compound of hruod "fame, glory" and berht "bright"). It is also in use as a surname.
After becoming widely used in Continental Europe it entered England in its Old French form Robert, where an Old English cognate form (Hrēodbēorht, Hrodberht, Hrēodbēorð, Hrœdbœrð, Hrœdberð) had existed before the Norman Conquest. The feminine version is Roberta. The Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish form is Roberto.

List of Governors of Alabama
The Governor of Alabama is the chief executive of the U.S. state of Alabama. The governor is the head of the executive branch of Alabama's state government and is charged with enforcing state laws. The governor has the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Alabama Legislature, to convene the legislature, and to grant pardons, except in cases of impeachment. The governor is also the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces.
There have officially been 53 governors of the state of Alabama; this official numbering skips acting and military governors. The first governor, William Wyatt Bibb, served as the only governor of the Alabama Territory. Five people have served as acting governor, bringing the total number of people serving as governor to 58, spread over 63 distinct terms. Four governors have served multiple non-consecutive terms: Bibb Graves, Jim Folsom, and Fob James each served two, and George Wallace served three non-consecutive periods. Officially, these non-consecutive terms are numbered only with the number of their first term. William D. Jelks also served non-consecutive terms, but his first term was in an acting capacity.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley announces his resignation
Embattled Gov. Robert Bentley this afternoon agreed to a deal that forced him to resign the office of governor, plead guilty to two misdemeanors and agree to never again hold public office. The extraordinary agreement, hammered out over the weekend and throughout the day by lawyers for the Alabama Attorney General's office and Bentley attorneys Chuck Malone and Cooper Shattuck, requires Bentley to repay the state for misused funds and perform community service. In response, the state attorney general's office will not pursue other felonies against Bentley, including those referred for prosecution last week by the Alabama Ethics Commission.

From Dictionary.com: Parallax: The apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer. Simple terms: Objects spaced at varying distances from a viewer will appear to move or scale differently, based on the objects distance from the observer. Here are some examples of an effect known as Parallax, created from still images.

Parallax: The apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer.
Simple terms: Objects spaced at varying distances from a viewer will appear to move or scale differently, based on the objects distance from the observer. This is something anyone with binocular vision experiences every waking second of every day.
Since a single photograph only contains one point of view, creating a parallax effect takes a few steps:
First, the image is cut into multiple sections, each cut section being at different distances from the camera. After the photos have been sliced into multiple layers and the holes filled in (yes, you have to fabricate some of the background, a slow but usually pretty easy process in Photoshop) the layers are then brought into After Effects and separated in Z-Space (pushed away from the viewer in 3D space). If the layers are put approximately in the correct distance from the virtual camera, mimicking the distance from the original image, a believable parallax "video" can be made with simple virtual camera moments.
Most of these were used on a project for Rend Lake, but there are also examples taken from political commercials, as well as images used at the Old State House (Little Rock, AR).

"A few years ago I was sailing with friends from Block Island to Huntington, Long Island in mid October. My trick at the helm was from 4 AM to 8 AM. Even in rough seas, time slows down and the senses sharpen, taking in all kinds of detail that may otherwise go unnoticed. On this morning the sky went from pitch black with a million stars occasionally blocked by ominous passing clouds, to a beautiful predawn sapphire. The unfolding light and journey of that morning was the inspiration for this piece." (Preston Stahly).
Biographies:
PRESTON STAHLY grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and started studying piano at age seven. By the time he was a teenager, he was performing and arranging music in soul, R&B;, and rock bands on the Midwest college circuit, in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, and as a studio musician at Chess Records. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in composition from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Leslie Bassett, William Bolcom, Ross Lee Finney, Eugene Kurtz, and George B. Wilson. His concert music encompasses a wide variety of instrumentation, from solo and chamber works to his Chimera, a three-part work for orchestra that received the Charles Ives Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. His music has been recorded on the Fleur De Son Classics, Musical Heritage, and NYAE labels. In addition to chamber, vocal, and symphonic works, he has also written music for film (Robert Altman’s Secret Honor) and television (the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Children’s Television workshop). He currently serves as Artistic and Executive Director of the New York Art Ensemble.
KAREN BENTLEY POLLICK has performed as violinist with Paul Dresher’s Electro-Acoustic Ensemble since 1999 and performs a wide range of solo repertoire and styles on violin, viola, piano and Norwegian hardangerfele. A native of Palo Alto, California, she studied with Camilla Wicks in San Francisco and with Yuval Yaron, Josef Gingold and Rostislav Dubinsky at Indiana University where she received both Bachelors and Masters of Music Degrees in Violin Performance. She has several recordings of original music, including Electric Diamond, Angel, Konzerto and Succubus and Ariel View, for which she has received three music awards from Just Plain Folks, including Best Instrumental Album and Best Song. On her own record label Ariel Ventures she has produced Dancing Suite to Suite, , and Homage to Fiddlers and Bebop for Beagles. She filmed Dan Tepfer’s Solo Blues for Violin and Piano in Shoal Creek, Alabama, in June 2009.
Pollick was concertmaster of the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in 1984 and has participated in the June in Buffalo and Wellesley Composers Conferences. She has appeared as soloist with Redwood Symphony in the world premiere of Swedish composer Ole Saxe’s Dance Suite for Violin and Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony, and orchestras in Panama, Russia, Alaska, New York and California. She has performed in recital with Russian pianist/composer Ivan Sokolov at the American Academy of Rome, Seattle, New York City and Colorado, throughout the Czech Republic with cellist Dennis Parker at the American Spring Festival, and in England at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Along with choreographer Teri Weksler and percussionist John Scalici, Pollick received a Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham 2008 Interdisciplinary Grant to Individual Artists. Pollick received a grant from the Alabama State Council for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for her March 2010 Solo Violin and Alternating Currents concerts in Birmingham, Seattle and at Music Olomouc 2011. With Australian pianist Lisa Moore, Pollick formed the duo Prophet Birds in spring 2009 and the Double Duo with Paul Dresher and Joel Davel. Pollick performs on a violin made by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume in 1860 and a viola made in 1987 by William Whedbee. She currently resides in Evergreen, Colorado.

SHERI WILLS is an artist whose work is based in film, video performance & installation. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the London Film Festival, the Director’s Lounge in Berlin, the San Francisco Cinematheque and the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Her work is featured in the Rizzoli book Sonic Graphics: Seeing Sound, by Matt Woolman. She holds an MFA in filmmaking & an MA in art history, theory & criticism, both from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Biographies:
PRESTON STAHLY grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and started studying piano at age seven. By the time he was a teenager, he was performing and arranging music in soul, R&B;, and rock bands on the Midwest college circuit, in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, and as a studio musician at Chess Records. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in composition from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Leslie Bassett, William Bolcom, Ross Lee Finney, Eugene Kurtz, and George B. Wilson. His concert music encompasses a wide variety of instrumentation, from solo and chamber works to his Chimera, a three-part work for orchestra that received the Charles Ives Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. His music has been recorded on the Fleur De Son Classics, Musical Heritage, and NYAE labels. In addition to chamber, vocal, and symphonic works, he has also written music for film (Robert Altman’s Secret Honor) and television (the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Children’s Television workshop). He currently serves as Artistic and Executive Director of the New York Art Ensemble.
KAREN BENTLEY POLLICK has performed as violinist with Paul Dresher’s Electro-Acoustic Ensemble since 1999 and performs a wide range of solo repertoire and styles on violin, viola, piano and Norwegian hardangerfele. A native of Palo Alto, California, she studied with Camilla Wicks in San Francisco and with Yuval Yaron, Josef Gingold and Rostislav Dubinsky at Indiana University where she received both Bachelors and Masters of Music Degrees in Violin Performance. She has several recordings of original music, including Electric Diamond, Angel, Konzerto and Succubus and Ariel View, for which she has received three music awards from Just Plain Folks, including Best Instrumental Album and Best Song. On her own record label Ariel Ventures she has produced Dancing Suite to Suite, , and Homage to Fiddlers and Bebop for Beagles. She filmed Dan Tepfer’s Solo Blues for Violin and Piano in Shoal Creek, Alabama, in June 2009.
Pollick was concertmaster of the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in 1984 and has participated in the June in Buffalo and Wellesley Composers Conferences. She has appeared as soloist with Redwood Symphony in the world premiere of Swedish composer Ole Saxe’s Dance Suite for Violin and Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony, and orchestras in Panama, Russia, Alaska, New York and California. She has performed in recital with Russian pianist/composer Ivan Sokolov at the American Academy of Rome, Seattle, New York City and Colorado, throughout the Czech Republic with cellist Dennis Parker at the American Spring Festival, and in England at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Along with choreographer Teri Weksler and percussionist John Scalici, Pollick received a Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham 2008 Interdisciplinary Grant to Individual Artists. Pollick received a grant from the Alabama State Council for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for her March 2010 Solo Violin and Alternating Currents concerts in Birmingham, Seattle and at Music Olomouc 2011. With Australian pianist Lisa Moore, Pollick formed the duo Prophet Birds in spring 2009 and the Double Duo with Paul Dresher and Joel Davel. Pollick performs on a violin made by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume in 1860 and a viola made in 1987 by William Whedbee. She currently resides in Evergreen, Colorado.

SHERI WILLS is an artist whose work is based in film, video performance & installation. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the London Film Festival, the Director’s Lounge in Berlin, the San Francisco Cinematheque and the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Her work is featured in the Rizzoli book Sonic Graphics: Seeing Sound, by Matt Woolman. She holds an MFA in filmmaking & an MA in art history, theory & criticism, both from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The extraordinary agreement, hammered out over the weekend and throughout the day by lawyers for the Alabama Attorney General's office and Bentley attorneys Chuck Malone and Cooper Shattuck, requires Bentley to repay the state for misused funds and perform community service. In response, the state attorney general's office will not pursue other felonies against Bentley, including those referred for prosecution last week by the Alabama Ethics Commission.

Parallax: The apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer.
Simple terms: Objects spaced at varying distances from a viewer will appear to move or scale differently, based on the objects distance from the observer. This is something anyone with binocular vision experiences every waking second of every day.
Since a single photograph only contains one point of view, creating a parallax effect takes a few steps:
First, the image is cut into multiple sections, each cut section being at different distances from the camera. After the photos have been sliced into multiple layers and the holes filled in (yes, you have to fabricate some of the background, a slow but usually pretty easy process in Photoshop) the layers are then brought into After Effects and separated in Z-Space (pushed away from the viewer in 3D space). If the layers are put approximately in the correct distance from the virtual camera, mimicking the distance from the original image, a believable parallax "video" can be made with simple virtual camera moments.
Most of these were used on a project for Rend Lake, but there are also examples taken from political commercials, as well as images used at the Old State House (Little Rock, AR).

"A few years ago I was sailing with friends from Block Island to Huntington, Long Island in mid October. My trick at the helm was from 4 AM to 8 AM. Even in rough seas, time slows down and the senses sharpen, taking in all kinds of detail that may otherwise go unnoticed. On this morning the sky went from pitch black with a million stars occasionally blocked by ominous passing clouds, to a beautiful predawn sapphire. The unfolding light and journey of that morning was the inspiration for this piece." (Preston Stahly).
Biographies:
PRESTON STAHLY grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and started studying piano at age seven. By the time he was a teenager, he was performing and arranging music in soul, R&B;, and rock bands on the Midwest college circuit, in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, and as a studio musician at Chess Records. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in composition from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Leslie Bassett, William Bolcom, Ross Lee Finney, Eugene Kurtz, and George B. Wilson. His concert music encompasses a wide variety of instrumentation, from solo and chamber works to his Chimera, a three-part work for orchestra that received the Charles Ives Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. His music has been recorded on the Fleur De Son Classics, Musical Heritage, and NYAE labels. In addition to chamber, vocal, and symphonic works, he has also written music for film (Robert Altman’s Secret Honor) and television (the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Children’s Television workshop). He currently serves as Artistic and Executive Director of the New York Art Ensemble.
KAREN BENTLEY POLLICK has performed as violinist with Paul Dresher’s Electro-Acoustic Ensemble since 1999 and performs a wide range of solo repertoire and styles on violin, viola, piano and Norwegian hardangerfele. A native of Palo Alto, California, she studied with Camilla Wicks in San Francisco and with Yuval Yaron, Josef Gingold and Rostislav Dubinsky at Indiana University where she received both Bachelors and Masters of Music Degrees in Violin Performance. "A few years ago I was sailing with friends from Block Island to Huntington, Long Island in mid October. My trick at the helm was from 4 AM to 8 AM. Even in rough seas, time slows down and the senses sharpen, taking in all kinds of detail that may otherwise go unnoticed. On this morning the sky went from pitch black with a million stars occasionally blocked by ominous passing clouds, to a beautiful predawn sapphire. The unfolding light and journey of that morning was the inspiration for this piece." (Preston Stahly).
Biographies:
PRESTON STAHLY grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and started studying piano at age seven. By the time he was a teenager, he was performing and arranging music in soul, R&B;, and rock bands on the Midwest college circuit, in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, and as a studio musician at Chess Records. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in composition from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Leslie Bassett, William Bolcom, Ross Lee Finney, Eugene Kurtz, and George B. Wilson. His concert music encompasses a wide variety of instrumentation, from solo and chamber works to his Chimera, a three-part work for orchestra that received the Charles Ives Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. His music has been recorded on the Fleur De Son Classics, Musical Heritage, and NYAE labels. In addition to chamber, vocal, and symphonic works, he has also written music for film (Robert Altman’s Secret Honor) and television (the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Children’s Television workshop). He currently serves as Artistic and Executive Director of the New York Art Ensemble.
KAREN BENTLEY POLLICK has performed as violinist with Paul Dresher’s Electro-Acoustic Ensemble since 1999 and performs a wide range of solo repertoire and styles on violin, viola, piano and Norwegian hardangerfele. A native of Palo Alto, California, she studied with Camilla Wicks in San Francisco and with Yuval Yaron, Josef Gingold and Rostislav Dubinsky at Indiana University where she received both Bachelors and Masters of Music Degrees in Violin Performance.
