The anthropic principle (from Greek anthropos, meaning "human") is the philosophical consideration that observations of the universe must be compatible with the conscious and sapient life that observes it. Some proponents of the anthropic principle reason that it explains why the universe has the age and the fundamental physical constants necessary to accommodate conscious life. As a result, they believe it is unremarkable that the universe's fundamental constants happen to fall within the narrow range thought to be compatible with life.
The strong anthropic principle (SAP) as explained by John D. Barrow and Frank Tipler states that this is all the case because the universe is compelled to eventually have conscious and sapient life emerge within it. Some critics of the SAP argue in favor of a weak anthropic principle (WAP) similar to the one defined by Brandon Carter, which states that the universe's ostensible fine tuning is the result of selection bias: i.e., only in a universe capable of eventually supporting life will there be living beings capable of observing and reflecting upon fine tuning. Most often such arguments draw upon some notion of the multiverse for there to be a statistical population of universes to select from and from which selection bias (our observance of only this universe, compatible with life) could occur.
Clinton Richard Dawkins FRS FRSL (born 26 March 1941) is an Englishethologist, evolutionary biologist, and writer. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford, and was the University of Oxford's Professor for Public Understanding of Science from 1995 until 2008.
Dawkins first came to prominence with his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, which popularised the gene-centred view of evolution and introduced the term meme. In 1982, he introduced into evolutionary biology the influential concept that the phenotypic effects of a gene are not necessarily limited to an organism's body, but can stretch far into the environment. This concept is presented in his book The Extended Phenotype. In 2006, he founded the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science.
Dawkins is a noted atheist, and is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design. In his 1986 book The Blind Watchmaker, he argues against the watchmaker analogy, an argument for the existence of a supernatural creator based upon the complexity of living organisms. Instead, he describes evolutionary processes as analogous to a blind watchmaker. In his most popular book, his 2006 book The God Delusion, Dawkins contends that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that religious faith is a delusion. He is an opponent of creationism being taught in schools. He makes regular television and radio appearances, predominantly discussing his books, his atheism and his ideas and opinions as a public intellectual.
Richard Dawkins weighs the possibilities of the anthropic principle as it applies to physics. He also presents the theory that universes are bound to Darwinian selection, passing on traits to daughter universes birthed from black holes.
In less than 100 seconds, Roberto Trotta explains this often misunderstood philosophical idea. Visit physicsworld.com for more videos, webinars and podcasts.

This is a BBC programme from 1987.. My VHS recording is damaged in a few places so I have "fixed" it with a few "stills" where necessary. The audio track is ok and I think the programme content does not suffer unduly. Part 1 of 4
Lecture from the mini-series "Multiverse & Fine Tuning" from the "Philosophy of Cosmology" project. A University of Oxford and Cambridge Collaboration.
The anthropic principle failed even to atheist physicists and most atheists still have no idea. Science now gave us indisputable proof that this universe was designed. It's now science of the gaps NOT God of the gaps. Martin Rees formulates the fine-tuning of the Universe in terms of the following six dimensionless constants: N = ratio of the strengths of gravity to that of electromagnetism; Epsilon (ε) = strength of the force binding nucleons into nuclei; Omega (ω) = relative importance of gravity and expansion energy in the Universe; Lambda (λ) = cosmological constant; Q = ratio of the gravitational energy required to pull a large galaxy apart to the energy equivalent of its mass; D = number of spatial dimensions in space time.
This is a game series I have found myself enjoying. This game itself is a conclusion to the Zero Escape Trilogy (which has the games such as 999 and Virtue's Last Reward under its belt). I will follow the path that is easiest to obtain all the trophies/achievements and unlock all the endings and the Fragments, as such, I this Let's Play series will make use of quite a lot of jumping around the Flowchart and replaying certain events. WALKTHROUGH: This is the third down on the right Fragment in Team C's storyline, which puts us in the Rec Room. So, shall we have some fun? Puzzle solutions are as follows: Cylinder Puzzle: 10:30.73 Roulette Puzzle: 12:03.00 Heart Puzzle: 13:49.67 Die Puzzle: 17:13.73 But, in order to obtain a number of Trophies, you have to follow what is shown in the v...

What Is the Anthropic Principle? Does the Universe and Life Show Signs of Being Intentionally Designed? Is the Planet Earth Perfectly Designed to Sustain Life? Anthropic means “relating to human beings or their existence.” Principle means “law.” The Anthropic Principle is the Law of Human Existence. It is well known that our existence in this universe depends on numerous cosmological constants and parameters whose numerical values must fall within a very narrow range of values. If even a single variable were off, even slightly, we would not exist. The extreme improbability that so many variables would align so auspiciously in our favor merely by chance has led some scientists and philosophers to propose instead that it was God who providentially engineered the universe to suit our specifi...
Some detailed information pertaining to the anthropic principle. How the essence of humanity was formed. anthropic principle |anˈθräpik| noun the cosmological principle that theories of the universe are constrained by the necessity to allow human existence. In its ‘weak’ form the principle affirms that a universe in which living observers cannot exist is inherently unobservable. ‘Strong’ forms take this line of reasoning further, seeking to explain features of the universe as being so because they are necessary for human existence. Victor Stenger at Skepticon 3 talks about the absurdities of fine tuning, the anthropic principle
In this theory we have the Anthropic Principle because everything including life is based on the dynamic geometry of one universal process. This can be seen mathematically with many of the equations of modern physics having 2π or 4π representing the geometry of this process. In this theory 'time' is an emergent property with the future continuously coming into existence light photon by light photon with each new photon electron coupling or dipole moment. We have an interactive or participatory universe because the wave particle duality of light is acting like the bits or zeros and ones of a computer. This forms an interactive process continuously forming a blank canvas that we can interact with turning the possible into the actual! This theory explains a greater reality of one creative pr...
I recorded this TV program when it aired on May 18, 1987 It was recorded on LP-speed, which is the speed between SP & EP. That's the bad news. The good news is that I uploaded it with one of the best VCRs money can buy. Most VCRs can't play an LP-speed recorded video, especially after years of storage. I did the best I could to fix the video tracking, and video enhancements were applied during the upload by auto-adjusting the aspect ratio, brightness, and color. Unmonetised video, no copyright infringement intended. Season 23 - Episode 18 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthrop...
Here is when we break the pattern I was trying to accomplish in the previous videos, but when you see the accompanying video, hopefully all will be made clear. Basically, this is the first room I've encountered where there isn't a real choice to make, but there is a forked path that we can't explore until we clear the reactor room. As for the Rec Room, the part that gave me the most difficulty was assembling the heart as the shapes of the pieces there make that pretty difficult. The key to figuring this out is to look at the number of white tiles on a piece relative to the red, and you can start to figure out where the big pieces go since there are only 1-2 possibilities for them. The small ones are the ones that will give you trouble as they can fit in a few places. Beyond that, the ...
