Paleoclimatologist Michael Mann has just released a paper discussing a slowdown in the North Atlantic Current, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. Historically, scientists believe that such a slowdown happened about 12000 years ago, as the earth was coming out of the last glacial period. The movie "The Day After Tomorrow" was based on an exageratted, dramatized idea of what might happen if global warming caused a similar shutdown in the modern day. I asked Mike Mann to put in context.
Raw recording as Randall Carlson spills catastrophic knowledge spontaneously to visitors on the trail at Johnston Ridge, overlooking Mount St. Helens in southwestern Washington. He questions the entrenched theories regarding the Ice Age Floods that roared across the state 13,000 years ago, connecting their source instead to melt-water from an extra-terrestrial object’s direct impact into the ice sheet covering British Columbia to the north, citing the 'Black Mat' and other evidence. The controversial “Younger-Dryas Impact Hypothesis” is undergoing fierce scrutiny, but Carlson has been independently pursuing that avenue of research since the early 90’s, and is now prepared to instigate more vigorous debate.

As global warming and climate change wreak havoc around the world, Geologists investigated the history of the Earth's global climate from the last 20,000 years to find solutions and uncovered evidence of climate change on a scale unheard of today. Author Graham Hancock discusses how a comet created the Younger Dryas climate change catastrophe which lead to global mass extinction and extreme temperature shifts in this Antidote interview highlight hosted by Michael Parker. The short-faced bear (Arctodus spp.) is an extinct bear that inhabited North America during the Pleistocene epoch from about 1.8 Mya until 11,000 years ago. It was the most common early North American bear and was most abundant in California. There are two recognized species: Arctodus pristinus and Arctodus simus, with the latter considered one of the largest known terrestrial mammalian carnivores. It has been hypothesized that their extinction coincides with the Younger Dryas period of global cooling commencing around 10,900BC. It has been proposed that a large air burst or earth impact from one or more comets from outer space impacted North America, initiating the Younger Dryas, which caused wildfires and environmental catastrophes led to the extinction of North American Pleistocene mega...
An ancient extinction event that wiped out Atlantis more advanced societies 12,000 years ago is illuminated with author Graham Hancock. From the megalithic structures at Göbekli Tepe and Gunung Padang, to the buried ancient power centers that are hiding a history that archaeologists are unwilling to acknowledge--the MAGICIANS OF THE GODS author fills in a blank space in human understanding. The Younger Dryas climate change catastrophe that was caused by meteoric impacts, and the lost golden age of man is explored on this uncensored Antidote hosted by Michael Parker. The "Younger Dryas" stadial, also referred to as the "Big Freeze", was a 1,300 year period of cold climatic conditions and drought which occurred between approximately 12,900 and 11,500 years BP in calendar years. The cause of the Younger Dryas stadial is an issue of ongoing debate. Possible scenarios include the collapse of the North American ice sheets, bringing a significant influx of freshwater to disrupt the thermohaline circulation. An alternative scenario is offered in Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, whereby a bolide collision could have caused widespread cooling through dust and aerosols entering the stratosphere. It followed the Bølling-Allerød interstadial at the end of the Pleistocene and preceded the preboreal of the early Holocene. It is named after an indicator g...
The "Younger Dryas impact hypothesis", also known as the "Clovis comet hypothesis", is one of the competing scientific explanations for the onset of the Younger Dryas cold period. The hypothesis, which scientists continue to debate, proposes that the climate of that time was cooled by the impact or air burst of one or more comets. The general hypothesis states that about 12,900 BP calibrated years ago, air burst or impact from a near-Earth object set areas of the North American continent on fire, disrupted climate and caused the extinction of most of the megafauna in North America and the demise of the North American Clovis culture after the last glacial period. The Younger Dryas ice age lasted for about 1,200 years before the climate warmed again. This swarm is hypothesized to ha...

Graham Hancock says that near the end of the last Ice Age 12,800 years ago, a giant comet that had entered the solar system from deep space thousands of years earlier, broke into multiple fragments. Some of these struck the Earth causing a global cataclysm on a scale unseen since the extinction of the dinosaurs. At least eight of the fragments hit the North American ice cap, while further fragments hit the northern European ice cap. The impacts, from comet fragments a mile wide approaching at more than 60,000 miles an hour, generated huge amounts of heat which instantly liquidized millions of square kilometers of ice, destabilizing the Earth's crust and causing the global Deluge that is remembered in myths all around the world. A second series of impacts, equally devastating, causing furth...
Global cooling was a conjecture during the 1970s of imminent cooling of the Earth's surface and atmosphere along with a posited commencement of glaciation. This hypothesis had little support in the scientific community, but gained temporary popular attention due to a combination of a slight downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s and press reports that did not accurately reflect the scientific understanding of ice age cycles. In contrast to the global cooling conjecture, the current scientific opinion on climate change is that the Earth has not durably cooled, but undergone global warming throughout the twentieth century. Concerns about nuclear winter arose in the early 1980s from several reports. Similar speculations have appeared over effects due to catastrophes...
Visit: http://www.spaceandintelligence.com Between 17.000 and 7.000 years ago, at the end of the last Ice Age, terrible things happened to the world our ancestors lived in. Great ice caps over northern Europe and north America melted down, huge floods ripped across the earth, sea-level rose by more than 100 metres, and about 25 million square kilometres of formerly habitable lands were swallowed up by the waves. (2002) http://www.grahamhancock.com/ When a huge comet struck earth 13.000 years ago, it was stretched out into a chain of fragments by the gravitational pull of the Earth, making it look like a fiery serpent flying through the sky. Is this disaster the origin of all the myths and legends about a fire-breathing dragon or winged serpent? http://www.spaceandintelligence.com/index.p...
Follow ClimateState on facebook for climate research https://www.facebook.com/ClimateState AGU Fall Meeting 2013 Our understanding of future Arctic change is informed by the history of past changes, which often have been both large and abrupt. The well-known ice-age events such as the Younger Dryas show how sea-ice changes can amplify forcing to produce very large responses, with wintertime sea ice especially important. These changes are increasingly seen to have played a central role in the ice-age cycling through their global impact on CO2 storage in the deep ocean. The Heinrich events reveal processes of ice-sheet/ocean interaction, some of which are being played out in Greenland and Antarctica now, and which may have large future effects on sea-level rise. The paleoclimatic record...
Randall Carlson is a master builder and architectural designer, teacher, geometrician, geomythologist, geological explorer and renegade scholar.
In 360 BC, the famous Greek philosopher Plato wrote about a battle between his city Athens and a great empire named Atlantis. In two of his books, 'Timaeus' and 'Critias', Plato describes this war that ended when Atlantis disappeared in the ocean, due to "violent earthquakes and floods." According to Plato, all this happened 9.000 years before his time which would be at least 9.400 BC, some 12.400 years ago. Intriguingly, this also corresponds to the period when the geological age of the Younger Dryas suddenly ended with an abrupt warming of more than 10°C in only a few years. This event marked the beginning of the Holocene, the era in which we are still living today. Sea levels must have risen rapidly and dramatically, and as a result entire civilizations, if any existed, would have disap...
I left home this morning didn't say a word
The sound of your crying is the only thing I heard
What I had to say you wouldn't wanna hear
So I left you alone with your anger and tears
Anger and tears, anger and tears
Is that all that's left us after loving all these years
As slowly as love grows how soon it disappears
In a house full of anger and a heart full of tears
A face like an angel, a voice like a dove
I knew you were sent her from somewhere up above
Am I to blame for your changing through the years
Have I been the cause of all your anger and tears
Anger and tears, anger and tears
Is that all that's left us after loving all these years
As slowly as love grows how soon it disappears
In a house full of anger and a heart full of tears
I know that sometimes my temper ain't so good
'Cause things haven't worked out the way we thought they would
But let's don't give in to our doubts and our fears
Let's try to put an end to our anger and tears
Anger and tears, anger and tears
Is that all that's left us after loving all these years
As slowly as love grows how soon it disappears
In a house full of anger and a heart full of tears
Anger and tears, anger and tears
Is that all that's left us after loving all these years
As slowly as love grows how soon it disappears
In a house full of anger and a heart full of tears
Anger and tears, anger and tears
Is that all that's left us after loving all these years
As slowly as love grows how soon it disappears
