For my first non-official restaurant challenge, I decided to see how much food I could eat at a buffet. Since this wasn't an "official" challenge, I made my own set of rules:
• I gave myself an unlimited amount of time to try and eat 15lbs of food
• I was not allowed to use the restroom
• Each plate of food would be weighed with a food scale
• The weight of the plate and inedible items (bones, seeds, etc.) would be subtracted from the total weight
The restaurant I attempted this challenge at is called the Wood Grill Buffet. They offer a wide array of traditional comfort foods and American Cuisine, ranging from sirloin steak to peach cobbler.

I do just want to say that I HATE Avocado (and Jalapenos). While every roll seemed to be loaded with both of them, I felt like the extremely large amounts of mayonnaise and cream cheese in most of the rolls masked the flavor of it, so I was able to handle it. It was more of the texture of the Avocado that started getting to me. The rolls were absolutely DELICIOUS, but after roll 15.. I started to feel the food wall. (Mainly because waiting over 20+ minutes for re-orders while the massive amounts of starch sat in my stomach really got to me as well). I'd estimate I took down between 9-10 lbs of sushi, and again... likely over $200 worth! So I ain't even mad!

So Monday, July 29th, was National Chicken Wing day, so Hooters decided to celebrate the iconic food by offering ACYE wing at all their US locations & setting the goal to reach 1 million chicken wings sold!! So, since I missed out on the Hooters Wing Eating Championship action last week, I decided to head over and get my share of poultry.

Today, we are back at the Gaja okonomiyaki house in Lomita, California. We are going to have all you can eat okonomiyaki and pasta carbonara. We are going to eat a lot and make a big mess. Enjoy this along with us.

I just found out about this place and that's because it's only 2 weeks new as of January 31st, 2014. This is by far the best "All-You-Can-Eat" sushi restaurant I've been to. They have a wide selection of sushi from nigiri to sushi rolls. I was surprised with how fresh the raw oyster and uni was. Their soft shell crab was simply amazing, lying on a bed of fresh salad with light dressing. I took the time to take a clip of each item ordered and hope you enjoy this video. This place will definitely be filled with people soon, but when we went for lunch, it was nearly empty. It'll only be a hidden gem for a few more weeks. I know it!

I have done this challenge last year at the same IHOP restaurant, where my objective is to see if I can beat my previous record set last year. To those that are not familiar with IHOP's all you can eat pancakes, the idea is to see how many pancakes can one person eat until they get their fill and this is usually promoted every January. How much starches and syrup can one man take before I just get sick of pancakes period?

Korean barbecue
The term Korean barbecue or Gogigui (meat roast) in Korean refers to the Korean method of roasting beef, pork, chicken, or other types of meat. Such dishes are often prepared at the diner's table on gas or charcoal grills that are built into the table itself. Some Korean restaurants that do not have built-in grills provide portable stoves for diners to use at their tables.
The most representative form of gogigui is bulgogi usually made from thinly sliced marinated beef sirloin or tenderloin. Another popular form of it is galbi made from marinated beef short ribs. However, gogigui also includes many other kinds of marinated and unmarinated meat dishes, and can be divided into several categories. Korean barbecue is not only popular among Koreans, but also has gained popularity internationally.

Bulgogi is the most popular variety of Korean barbecue. Before cooking, the meat is marinated with a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and pepper. It is traditionally cooked using gridirons or perforated dome griddles that sit on braziers, but pan-cooking has become common, as well.

I have done this challenge last year at the same IHOP restaurant, where my objective is to see if I can beat my previous record set last year. To those that are not familiar with IHOP's all you can eat pancakes, the idea is to see how many pancakes can one person eat until they get their fill and this is usually promoted every January. For my first non-official restaurant challenge, I decided to see how much food I could eat at a buffet. Since this wasn't an "official" challenge, I made my own set of rules:
• I gave myself an unlimited amount of time to try and eat 15lbs of food
• I was not allowed to use the restroom
• Each plate of food would be weighed with a food scale
• The weight of the plate and inedible items (bones, seeds, etc.) would be subtracted from the total weight
The restaurant I attempted this challenge at is called the Wood Grill Buffet. They offer a wide array of traditional comfort foods and American Cuisine, ranging from sirloin steak to peach cobbler.

DEFINITELY one of my tastiest challenges yet! (And with a $25 price tag for over $200 worth of sushi? I'm game!) Check out the video to see how I did!
I do just want to say that I HATE Avocado (and Jalapenos). While every roll seemed to be loaded with both of them, I felt like the extremely large amounts of mayonnaise and cream cheese in most of the rolls masked the flavor of it, so I was able to handle it. It was more of the texture of the Avocado that started getting to me. The rolls were absolutely DELICIOUS, but after roll 15.. I started to feel the food wall. (Mainly because waiting over 20+ minutes for re-orders while the massive amounts of starch sat in my stomach really got to me as well). I'd estimate I took down between 9-10 lbs of sushi, and again... likely over $200 worth! So I ain't even mad!

I just found out about this place and that's because it's only 2 weeks new as of January 31st, 2014. This is by far the best "All-You-Can-Eat" sushi restaurant I've been to. They have a wide selection of sushi from nigiri to sushi rolls. I was surprised with how fresh the raw oyster and uni was. Their soft shell crab was simply amazing, lying on a bed of fresh salad with light dressing. I took the time to take a clip of each item ordered and hope you enjoy this video. This place will definitely be filled with people soon, but when we went for lunch, it was nearly empty. It'll only be a hidden gem for a few more weeks. I know it!
