Ian Eastwood Choreography Feat. Megan Batoon | "Chivalry Is Dead" - Trevor Wesley
What’s up guys,
This video is really exciting to me personally because not only is it the second official release off of my dance mixtape “Adultlessons : The World’s First Dance Mixtape”…but it is ALSO the first feature off of the mixtape. Within it being a feature I looked at musicians and their collaborations and how they both adapt their style to usually meet somewhere in the middle for their collaborators music. I thought this was a great version of one of my choreography videos with the feeling of a Megan Batoon sketch, hence the “feat.” like musical artists. We are quite the team if you ask me…it’s just really fun.
I know that it’s literally only been a week since my last post and last time I kept you guys waiting for another 4 months before I posted something new but the stars were...

What's up guys...first of all, wanna apologize for the delay of this video, but decided it was for the better not to drop it on a holiday...and line it up with the day JT performs in Chicago, the city of my birth, & the city this very video was produced in.
Before I get to the meaning of this video I just want to say I'm so excited to be lucky enough to share this final product with you guys...I have worked so painfully hard on it getting to this point and I am so proud of what I have created not only with the video but for the first time in a long time of choreography pieces I am really proud of how much I feel like I'm just "DANCING" again in this video...now down to the serious business...lol.

Hey guys,
Thank you all already for taking the time to watch this choreo one more time even though it was featured in the official music video. Which I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tori, Andrew, and Tori's team for giving dance and choreography such a presence in only her second official music video which is a risky enough thing to do even if you are top 40 established artist. I know that it’s literally only been a week since my last post and last time I kept you guys waiting for another 4 months before I posted something new but the stars were aligning for this video to happen when it did. I first found this artist one morning when I was looking for inspiration going back 2 or 3 years ago when he was playing at a coffeeshop I frequented around that time and I made sure to get his info so I could keep up to date with his music. When this song came to me there was no doubt in my mind that it was the right thing to do because nothing is more of maturing lesson in life than becoming a gentleman and treating not some but all women with respect.
Special thanks to Jonathan Shih and Gerald Nonato for their cinematography, Jon for coloring, Megan for dancing with me (and everything we did to make this video happen), Trevor for the AMAZING music, and of course to Dance On & Jamba Juice for making this video possible.
if you read this far comment why you think Chivalry is so important.

---
This video to me is about a lot of things & nothing all at the same time, I know that may not make sense but I'll try to make sense of it. haha. To me this video (even though it was incredibly planned out) is my representation of the joy of spotanaeity and simple summer fun without a care in the world. I've really been trying to live by a phrase lately that my mother grew up telling me..."Joie de vivre" its a french phrase meaning: "the joy of life". It's really simple yet so effective and thats what I went for when I created this dance, envisioned this concept, and created the video to follow it all up. You all know I am definitely a sap for the books, and I create emotional piece after emotional piece...but sometimes...like this time... it doesn't have to be so deep and you can just ENJOY yourself. That's what I'm learning in my life lately and it has led me to become much happier...I'm young and have so much time for the things I want in my life to come to fruition and by realizing that now, instead of fabricating and force fitting happiness & and joy into my stress... they have been finding their own way to ME. It may seem like such a simple thing...happiness... but life makes it seem so complex & that is why it's so hard to achieve. My advice, and the purpose for this video...stop thinking so hard...step back and smell the roses once in awhile...if you are a good person and you do good things... every thing you want out of life will find its way to you.
If you enjoy choreographing-do it, if you like the way people dance-use them, if you enjoy someones company, presence, and all around energy-put them in your video...in a bathing suit, (haha), if you like your friends' work ethic and final products-use them to produce your vision, if you love your hometown- fly & film there, if you miss your hometown friends-invite them, if your proud of your city's beauty-show it off, if you love your family-let them be there for you.
Those are the reasons behind every decision I made behind this video & I hope it comes through loud and clear.
Thank you all for your continued support... I wake up so many mornings shocked at the life I've been able to build for myself... there are so many things that have got me to where I am today but one that I cannot forget is the love & support of every single viewer to date. I uploaded my first video to youtube over 7 years ago when I was still 12 years old...100 videos later here I am. Thank you. I love you all.

Hey there everyone, hope everyone has been doing good since my last video, I just wanna start out by saying even though I'm really nervous to release this video it's only because I have never worked so hard on one video in my entire career, and when you work so hard on something & its different, you can only hope it will be received well. But hand in hand with my hard work goes how proud I am of this video because I REALLY DID work hard on this...we ended up going through 9 versions to get to this final product & if it were up to this perfectionist, I would keep going. But at some point I just want everyone to enjoy what I've worked hard on with my team & I think that time is now.
Now down to the meaning, I think the video is self explanatory, I took a real life situation and dramatized it to a track that fit with a theme that made sense to me. From the first time I heard this song on an airplane home I knew I wanted to choreograph to it but I couldn't because I was on the plane...so I did what I could and that was write my entire concept out into a treatment the first day I heard it before I laid down even one move, and by the time I was choreographing it I already had my suit for this video to help inspire me haha.
I know I'm doing something different here with my team but I hope you guys can grow with me & grow with the popularity of bringing dance to the forefront with me.
THIS VIDEO GOES OUT TO ALL PEOPLE WHO FIGHT FOR LOVE, THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEY'RE BETTER FOR THE PERSON THEY ADORE, THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE CHASE, THE PEOPLE WHO WON'T GIVE UP, ...THE PEOPLE WHO WAIT...FOR JUST...THE RIGHT MOMENT.
My hopeless romantics/receivers of hopeless romanticism this one's for you...
Love,

Hey guys,
Thank you all already for taking the time to watch this choreo one more time even though it was featured in the official music video. Which I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tori, Andrew, and Tori's team for giving dance and choreography such a presence in only her second official music video which is a risky enough thing to do even if you are top 40 established artist. This just goes on to inspire me as an artist as it should all of you that TRUE ART IS NOT DEAD. There are people out there who respect us as dancers and our craft you just have to find them-so on behalf of dancers everywhere thank you again Andrew, Tori's team and especially Tori for believing in not only me but our craft as dancers to hold up for the majority of her video.
Down to the reason why I did this video— When I first choreographed this piece, I was going through exactly what this song expresses so it was very easy for me to choreograph but I actually wrote and created the story line you see in this video before I even choreographed one move...I had absolutely no idea at the time that Tori would ever be interested in using my choreography for more than anything besides maybe retweeting my video whenever I dropped it...so it was pretty awesome that I got the opportunity I did but as an artist I also felt that I still needed to get out exactly what I saw in my head when I choreographed this piece in order to feel complete-I absolutely adore the story Tori and Andrew created for the video but as you can imagine I choreographed the story from MY point of view, the man, being the heartbroken...missing something. I almost ended up not doing this video but in the end I thought it would be cool to show the world how one piece of artwork like this song, can inspire creation on so many levels by many different people- so I guess this is kind of an "alternate reality" of Tori's true masterpiece "Paper Hearts"...the man's perspective...a sappy man's perspective haha...hey I can't help it! Love you all, thank you so much-something very different coming up for my next dance video so don't worry if this is too soft for some of you guys haha.
Love.
and thank you to Carlena for rollin through last minute (we are actually talking smack to each other in every scene hahah funny what music can do)!
