Another track from our second album for Pye Records, 1979. "Island In The Sea". Composed by Mick Coleman. Producer Kevin Parrott Recording Engineer Richard Scott Recorded at Strawberry Studios Stockport,
Uploaded a few Georgie Fame records since his show, however, this is a tricky little samba track should not be ignored. Recorded in 1979, the album 'Right Now!' reflects the era, with Georgie touching base with Disco on a couple of occasions on this set. The album also contains his take of 'Funny How Time Slips away', which those who went to his show that night, will recognise the treatment of the track, showcased during his set. 'Little Samba' is a great tune. Peter Young told me there is a better live version of this track on one of Georgie's albums. He is about to release his final ever studio recording, which is a real shame, as he still has a great deal to offer, IMHO. The Next Day was, by many fan admissions, the ultimate "comeback" record for Bowie. Breaking a nine-year silence in which the only word of Bowie was from a couple of compilation releases and reissues, The Next Day was a welcomed and well-recieved record by fans and critics alike. With a smashing title track and a controversial video to back it up, it proved anyone who had any doubts that David Bowie was back, stronger than ever, and with a paritcular roar that hadn't been heard before. This is another one of those albums from Bowie that people like to say is the worst. People also say this is another one of the worst albums ever made. Though I consider this one to be his personal weakest (and beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder with this one), it's still a great record. Because, let's face it, Bowie on a bad day is better than pretty much anybody else on a good day. And considering this is his twenty-first solo studio record, he was definitely entitled to some down time! David Bowie interview with Kerry O'Brien on Australian TV program "7.30 Report" broadcast in 2004. Re-broadcast on TV program "Rage" on 15 January 2016 as part of a tribute to David Bowie. RIP.
After a total of 74 concerts, David Bowie's Diamond Dogs/Philly Dogs Soul Tour closed in Atlanta on 1st December 1974. three days later on the 4th December, Dick Cavett's Wide World Of Entertainment screened this pre-recorded appearance of David Bowie that had been taped in New York on 2nd November while Bowie was there for his Radio City Music Hall shows. During the Dick Cavett Show, Bowie and his band gave excellent performances of '1984', 'Young Americans' and 'Footstompin'. Another song 'Can You Hear Me?' was not televised, due to broadcast time limitations. During the interview with Cavett, Bowie's exhausted physical and mental state was all too painfully obvious. He fended off Cavett's questions with hostile and garbled answers, whilst at the same time flirting and pouting his lips...
Talk with Michael Parkinson and as second guest Tom Hanks. Bowie performs "Everyone says "HI"" from the album "Heathen" and "Life on Mars" in the show. About the song "Life on Mars" and the link to Frank Sinatra: When released as a single in 1973, it reached number three in the UK and stayed on the chart for thirteen weeks. In 2015 Neil McCormick, chief rock music critic of "The Daily Telegraph", ranked it as number one in his "100 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. In 1968 Bowie wrote the lyrics "Even a Fool Learns to Love", set to the music of a 1967 French song "Comme d'habitude", composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Bowie's version was never released, but Paul Anka bought the rights to the original French version, and rewrote it into "My Way", the song made famous by Frank Si...

In 2006, Robert John Godfrey announced a remarkable message: "During the course of the coming months, I shall be making the whole of The Enid catalogue freely downloadable on high quality MP3. The purpose of this is to make sure that The Enid's music reaches as many people as possible and does not entirely disappear when I am dead.
