Santa Fe (Spanish: Holy Faith) may refer to:
Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe 3751 is a 4-8-4 "Northern" type steam locomotive built in 1927 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Built as the first Northern type steam locomotive for the Santa Fe, the 3751 served in passenger duties until being retired in 1953. The locomotive was then placed on display in San Bernardino, California until it was restored to operating condition in 1986. The 3751 is currently located in the Central City East neighborhood of Los Angeles and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Santa Fe 3751 holds the distinction of being the oldest surviving 4-8-4 type steam locomotive in the world. The locomotive is currently owned and operated by the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society who use the locomotive to haul occasional mainline excursion trains.
Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.
Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Santy, or simply Santa is a mythical figure with historical origins who, in many Western cultures, brings gifts to the homes of well-behaved, "good" children on Christmas Eve (24 December) and the early morning hours of Christmas Day (25 December). The modern Santa Claus is derived from the British figure of Father Christmas, the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, and Saint Nicholas, the historical Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra. During the Christianization of Germanic Europe, this figure may also have absorbed elements of the god Odin, who was associated with the Germanic pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky.
Santa Claus is generally depicted as a portly, joyous, white-bearded man—sometimes with spectacles—wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots and who carries a bag full of gifts for children. Images of him rarely have a beard with no moustache. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of the 1823 poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast. This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, children's books and films.
Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) is the main railway station in Los Angeles, California, and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. It opened in May 1939 as the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, replacing La Grande Station and Central Station.
Approved in a controversial ballot measure in 1926 and built in the 1930s, it served to consolidate rail services from a number of railroads (the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, and Southern Pacific) into one terminal station. Conceived on a grand scale, Union Station became known as the "Last of the Great Railway Stations" built in the United States. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Today, the station is a major transportation hub for Southern California, serving almost 110,000 passengers a day. Three of Amtrak's long distance trains originate and terminate here: the Coast Starlight to Seattle, the Southwest Chief to Chicago, and the Sunset Limited to New Orleans. The state-supported Amtrak California Pacific Surfliner regional trains run frequently to San Diego and also to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. The station is the hub of the Metrolink commuter trains, and several Metro Rail subway and light rail lines serve it as well, with more in construction or planning.
On 4-12-14, Santa Fe 3751 made her way to San Bernardino from Los Angeles. These are the shots I got. Enjoy the sights and sounds of steam power. Please rate and comment, thanx and God bless and Jesus saves. :-)
On the weekend of April 27th and 28th, Santa Fe Steam Locomotive 3751 ran to San Bernardino Railroad Days for the fourth year in a row. This video features the train on its eastward journey from Los Angeles Union Station, LAUPT, to the San Bernardino Santa Fe Train Depot where the Railroad Days event was taking place. This is probably the last time this trip will be made for a few years, so I wanted to make sure to get out and see it one more time.
Santa Fe 3751 returns once again to San Bernardino Railroad Days. Come along as we follow the train on its journey from Los Angeles Union Station to San Bernardino as it passes through Baldwin Park, San Dimas, and Rialto.

After a stay in Austrian Salzkammergut region, we moved on via Allgäu and its diesel trains, partly hauled by DB class 218, to Hotel Grischuna in Filisur, Graubünden, - well-known amongst railfans - and the Rhätische Bahn (RhB) metre gauge network, visiting Ruinaulta Rhine gorge, Bernina Pass into Italy and the Albula line with its famous Landwasser viaduct. The last weekend we crossed San Bernardino Pass into Ticino, then moved to our final stay in Göschenen on the Gotthard Pass. On Sunday we returned home stopping at Zürich. ---------------------------------------...
Penn Rail Videos is proud to present, our 300th YouTube video. We knew the footage featured in this video wasn't something that we could just post as a regular video. This footage is incomparable to anything else we have. This is steam pulling revenue freight trains, in the 21st Century. And it's happening on the "Road to Paradise", better known as the Strasburg Railroad. We have footage from three separate visits during 2012. For those not familiar, the Strasburg Railroad within recent years has gotten back into the freight business; transloading to be precise. For the most part, the freight would be handled by the line's SW8, #8618. However very rarely, one of the steam engines would be called upon to perform the said duty. For 2012, the Strasburg Railroad began to make steam-powered fre...

I've been all around this great big world
to Paris and Rome
And I've never found a place that I could
really call my own.
But there'se one place where I know
the sun is shining endlessly
And it's calling me across the sea
so I must get back to SAN BERNADINO.
I remember when I was sixteen
my daddy said to me: You could travel
round this universe until eternity
But you'll never find that peace of mind
that you've been dreaming of.
Not until you finally decide to
come on home to SAN BERNADINO.
I'm longing for SAN BERNADINO!
I'm longing for SAN BERNADINO!
I've been all along the water right up
to the Rio Grande
And I've never found the paradise
they call the Promised Land.
I was young and foolishly I thought
the world was at my feet.
But I'm no diff'rent now and so I'm
homeward bound for SAN BERNADINO.
Well I'm older and I'm wiser and I've seen
the light of day
and I think it's time
to realize my dreams have gone astray.
But I've tried so hard to rech that star
that was so far away.
But now I've got to find that road
that's leading home to SAN BERNADINO.
