Sweden’s 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' creators bring those questions to life in Occupied, a political suspense-thriller that explores themes of loyalty to oneself, one’s family, and one’s country.
Set in a not-so-distant future, after a catastrophic hurricane fuelled by climate change devastates Norway, an idealistic Prime Minister halts all oil production, which sets the country and the rest of the world into crisis. Unable to ignore the impending catastrophe, Russia, at the behest of the EU, stages a soft invasion to secure oil for the rest of the world. Although they say they have every intention of retreating once this has been accomplished, events that unfold quickly turn velvet gloves into iron fists, and no one is safe.

Oggy and the Cockroaches
Oggy and the Cockroaches (known as Oggy et les Cafards in French, often referred to as Oggy) is a French animated comedy series produced by Xilam and Gaumont Film Company.
Synopsis
The show centers on Oggy, an anthropomorphic blue cat, who would prefer to spend his days contentedly watching television and eating - if not for the three roaches in the household: Joey, Dee Dee and Marky (named after members of the punk group Ramones). The trio seems to enjoy making Oggy's life miserable, which involves mischief ranging from (in most cases) plundering his refrigerator to such awkward things like hijacking the train Oggy just boarded. Oggy usually finds creatures accompanying him to the end of the episode, such as crabs, clams, a horse, a very technologically advanced child, a puppy, and an octopus. However, it's not always Oggy who wins.
The cartoon relies on slapstick humour, much like its "ancestor", Tom and Jerry, only amplifying the level of extremities up a notch. While traditional slapstick cartoon characters prefer dropping anvils and pianos on each other, this show sometimes uses buses or submarines. Despite these, however, most gags are easily accessible and enjoyable for younger viewers. Since dialogue is kept to a minimum, the humour is entirely visual.

Sweden’s 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' creators bring those questions to life in Occupied, a political suspense-thriller that explores themes of loyalty to oneself, one’s family, and one’s country.
Set in a not-so-distant future, after a catastrophic hurricane fuelled by climate change devastates Norway, an idealistic Prime Minister halts all oil production, which sets the country and the rest of the world into crisis. Unable to ignore the impending catastrophe, Russia, at the behest of the EU, stages a soft invasion to secure oil for the rest of the world. Although they say they have every intention of retreating once this has been accomplished, events that unfold quickly turn velvet gloves into iron fists, and no one is safe.

Sweden’s 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' creators bring those questions to life in Occupied, a political suspense-thriller that explores themes of loyalty to oneself, one’s family, and one’s country.
Set in a not-so-distant future, after a catastrophic hurricane fuelled by climate change devastates Norway, an idealistic Prime Minister halts all oil production, which sets the country and the rest of the world into crisis. Unable to ignore the impending catastrophe, Russia, at the behest of the EU, stages a soft invasion to secure oil for the rest of the world. Although they say they have every intention of retreating once this has been accomplished, events that unfold quickly turn velvet gloves into iron fists, and no one is safe.
Occupied premieres Thursday, May 5th at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m PT on Pivot.

More than six months after Michael Brown was killed by Officer Darren Wilson, the youth-led protests in Ferguson continue to fuel a national movement against police brutality.
“Part of the struggle for us in Ferguson is to break a four-hundred-year belief that black people are not human,” says St. Louis native and activist Rev. Osagyefo Sekou.
After the Department of Justice released a blistering report finding systematic racism and prejudice against blacks in the Ferguson Police Department, protests continued, the police chief and several Ferguson officials resigned, and two police officers were injured in a shooting.
This problem, however, is not unique to Ferguson. St. Louis County is made of around 90 municipalities, each with their own police departments and courts. Residents report similar discriminatory treatment at the hands of law enforcement. And with so many different jurisdictions, a small infraction like an expired license plate can turn into dozens of fines and eventually warrants. Those in St. Louis who live below the poverty line are faced with the reality of buying food or paying fines.
In the Fusion documentary Ferguson: A Report from Occupied Territory, we turn to the residents of St. Louis County to tell us what it’s like to be racially profiled and under siege.

After the Department of Justice released a blistering report finding systematic racism and prejudice against blacks in the Ferguson Police Department, protests continued, the police chief and several Ferguson officials resigned, and two police officers were injured in a shooting.
This problem, however, is not unique to Ferguson. St. Louis County is made of around 90 municipalities, each with their own police departments and courts. Residents report similar discriminatory treatment at the hands of law enforcement. And with so many different jurisdictions, a small infraction like an expired license plate can turn into dozens of fines and eventually warrants. Those in St. Louis who live below the poverty line are faced with the reality of buying food or paying fines.
In the Fusion documentary Ferguson: A Report from Occupied Territory, we turn to the residents of St. Louis County to tell us what it’s like to be racially profiled and under siege.
