http://www.euronews.com/ Fantasporto, the International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal, brought together film-makers from all over the world. Argentinian director Andy Muschietti won the best film award for his film "Mama", a horror story full of scares and surprises.
Andy Muschietti, the director said: "People were forecasting a big success, but no-one foresaw these numbers. After the film premiered in the US, it went to No 1 within the first week!"
Barbara Muschietti, the producer and co-writer, said: "We had the great good luck to cast Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who are both fantastic actors and contributed a lot to its commercial success. And, of course, we have Guillermo (del Toro), which is a seal of quality."
British writer and film critic Kim Newman was part of this year's jury. He said "There were enough good films first to have an argument about which ones we would give prizes to. Of course there were a few we liked less, but that's the way movies go... Overall, it's been a good week of non-stop film watching."
The audience award went to Norweigan film Thale, which tells the tale of a mythological creature which is found in a bath after years of hibernation.
Silje Reinamo, the actress who played the creature, said: "Everyone in Scandinavia knows this creature, but it's never been put on film, so I was the first one doing it. She doesn't speak at all in the film, so I had to communicate everything with her body language and her eyes. It's been quite an experience!"
The screening of Aniki-Nobo, a film made 70 years ago, was attended by the director Manoel de Oliviera, who is now 104 years old. The film is about two boys competing over a girl, playing at cops and robbers, until one of them eventually becomes a real thief.
Manoel de Oliveira, the director, said: "What touches me most is that the film was not well received by critics at the time but now it's the most popular of all my films!"

Alexandre (Henrique Gandum) a man who loves arachnology discovers a blog that states sightings of giant tarantulas in Serra da Arrábida. He can't resist not going after the mistery with his girlfriend Raquel (Carina Sapateiro) even though she thinks it's all ridiculous. In Setúbal they meet the blogger Nogueira (Lucas Santos) a young fisherman with interest for fantastic creature but noone believes his stories. When he speaks to the couple it sounds doughtable.

Sinopse:
Alexandre (Henrique Gandum) um apaixonado por aracnologia descobre um blog que fala sobre avistamentos de tarantulas gigantes na serra da Arrábida. Este apaixonado não consegue resistir senão ir atrás do mistério, ele leva a sua namorada (Carina Sapateiro) com ele apesar de ela achar que é tudo uma parvoice.
Em Setúbal encontram o autor do blog (Lucas Santos) um jovem pescador que tem um interesse pelo fantástico no entanto ninguém acredita nas estórias dele. Quando ele fala com o casal parece duvidoso e mentira.

Fantasporto
Fantasporto, also known as Fantas, is an international film festival, annually organized since 1981 in Porto, Portugal. Giving screen space to fantasy/science fiction/horror-oriented commercial feature films, auteur films and experimental projects from all over the world, Fantasporto has created enthusiastic audiences, ranging from cinephiles to more popular spectators, with an annual average of 110,000 attendees. It was rated in Variety as one of the 25 leading festivals of the world. In its 27th edition in February 2006 the festival reached 104,000 people and 5,000 media references, both domestic and international, with a record of 187 hours of TV time. Present in Porto were about 100 members of the foreign press and about 250 Portuguese journalists and media representatives.
In spite of being organized by a private entity, the event is mostly state funded, with the Ministry of Culture of Portugal leading and the President of the Republic as head of the Honour Committee, along with several private sponsors.

Film festival
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.

Sinopsys:
Alexandre (Henrique Gandum) a man who loves arachnology discovers a blog that states sightings of giant tarantulas in Serra da Arrábida. He can't resist not going after the mistery with his girlfriend Raquel (Carina Sapateiro) even though she thinks it's all ridiculous. In Setúbal they meet the blogger Nogueira (Lucas Santos) a young fisherman with interest for fantastic creature but noone believes his stories. When he speaks to the couple it sounds doughtable.

Além disso, o júri de fantasia fez uma menção especial à ficção-científica “A Repartição do Tempo”, de Santiago Delappe. Exibida em diversos festivais e mostras brasileiros, como o Rio Fantastik e a Mostra de Tiradentes, esta produção brasiliense que dialoga o tempo inteiro com histórias em quadrinhos e apresenta o vigor inventivo de cinema de gênero do interior do Brasil.
