My Buddy (simplified Chinese: 难兄烂弟) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. It made its debut on 8 July 2009 and ended on 4 August 2009. This drama serial consists of 20 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9:00 pm. Zeng You Quan, (Paul Chan) aged 40, is a single and an honest man and works in an air-con company as a supervisor. His mother died early and his irresponsible father suddenly went missing. Being the eldest in the family, You Quan had to take care of his two sisters.
Beg for Mercy is the debut album by hip hop group G-Unit, at the time composed of rappers 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck, with support from Tony Yayo. The album was released in November 2003, 9 months after 50 Cent's successful debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
"I've been promoting G Unit since before I even had a record deal," says 50. "All the music I put on the mixtape circuit was 50 Cent and G Unit."
As the album was recorded, Tony Yayo was sentenced to jail on charges of gun possession, and so he makes only two appearances on the entire record, on the tracks "Groupie Love", and "I Smell Pussy". His image is seen on the brick wall of the album cover as he could not be photographed due to the jail sentence.
At the time of the album's release, rapper The Game was just placed in G-Unit, therefore he is not photographed, nor does he make an appearance on the album. He does however make cameos in the videos for singles Stunt 101, Wanna Get To Know You & Poppin' Them Thangs. He is also mentioned in Poppin' Them Thangs when Young Buck raps, "You ain't no Crip like Snoop, / You ain't no Blood like Game."
The My Buddy doll line was a toy brand made by Hasbro in 1985 with the intention of making a doll to appeal to little boys and teach them about caring for their friends. This idea was both innovative and controversial for its time, as toy dolls were traditionally associated with younger girls. Hasbro also introduced a companion Kid Sister marketed toward girls. Hasbro discontinued the line before the start of the 1990s and Playskool took over production, making changes to the likeness and clothing.
My Buddy is one of several dolls said to be the inspiration for Chucky, the evil doll from Child's Play, along with That Kid and Robert the Doll.
During its initial run, My Buddy had the following characteristics:
Two versions of the dolls existed: the brunette version described above, and a blonde version:
