An EgyptAir flight carrying at least 59 passengers and 10 crew members went off the radar after departing from Paris and heading to Cairo, the airline said in a brief statement.
“An informed source at EGYPTAIR stated that Flight No. MS804, which departed Paris at 23:09 (CEST), heading to Cairo has disappeared from radar,” the airline said on its Twitter.
Flight MS804 left Charles de Gaulle Airport at 11:09 pm on Wednesday Paris time and was expected to arrive in Cairo by 3 am on Thursday. A direct flight usually takes just over four hours.
The Egyptian government has released no comment on the incident so far.

My final flight sees a connection at the new T3 at CAI, which is light years ahead of it's predecessor yet, the maintenance of the facility is not to standard. Be prepared for a crowded departure hall with little bench seating and no high ceilings.
There are many MS/Star Alliance Gold lounges which are almost identical none which with a wow factor. The unusual round widows with blue tint makes natural lighting minimal and aircraft spotting not ideal.
Word to the wise if your flight departs from gates H1 to H5 give yourself an extra 30 minutes before reaching your gate. Security checks are slow and there are no lanes for premium passengers nor for boarding. Dedicated Business class busses to the aircraft were made available only after speaking to the gate agent which is ridiculous.
The overall service on the flight was much better than on the long haul Toronto trip http://youtu.be/2wEiiHu_fQU http://youtu.be/lnZpBcX9w9w but the cabin was out dated and again catering dismal. As you will see in the video the windows were opaque.
Verdict: Not advisable.
Only consider it if on the off chance the connection is time works for you and the price is competitive (not always the case).

UPDATE: EgyptAir flight MS804 crash: 'Debris found' in search area. An EgyptAir plane has gone missing during a flight from Paris to Cairo early Thursday morning.
The airline confirmed on Facebook that Flight MS804 had disappeared from radar.
Maps from FlightRadar24.com show the flight heading out from Charles de Gaulle before vanishing in the Mediterranean during its approach to Egypt.
The plane, said to be carrying 59 passengers and 10 crew, normally arrives in Cairo shortly before 3 a.m. local time, but EgyptAir said that contact was lost with it at 2:45 a.m.
The disappearance comes roughly two months after a man from the Middle Eastern country made international headlines for hijacking an Egypt Air plane by saying he was wearing a suicide vest.
Seif Eldin Mustafa, 58, said he made the vessel stop in Cyprus in an attempt to see his ex-wife on the island.
No one was injured in that incident, and Mustafa is facing extradition back to Egypt

Be prepared for a crowded departure hall with little bench seating and no high ceilings. There are many MS/Star Alliance Gold lounges which are almost identical none which with a wow factor. The unusual round widows with blue tint makes natural lighting minimal and aircraft spotting not ideal. Word to the wise if your flight departs from gates H1 to H5 give yourself an extra 30 minutes before reaching your gate. Security checks are slow and there are no lanes for premium passengers nor for boarding. My final flight sees a connection at the new T3 at CAI, which is light years ahead of it's predecessor yet, the maintenance of the facility is not to standard. Be prepared for a crowded departure hall with little bench seating and no high ceilings.
There are many MS/Star Alliance Gold lounges which are almost identical none which with a wow factor. The unusual round widows with blue tint makes natural lighting minimal and aircraft spotting not ideal.
Word to the wise if your flight departs from gates H1 to H5 give yourself an extra 30 minutes before reaching your gate. Security checks are slow and there are no lanes for premium passengers nor for boarding. Dedicated Business class busses to the aircraft were made available only after speaking to the gate agent which is ridiculous.

UPDATE: EgyptAir flight MS804 crash: 'Debris found' in search area. An EgyptAir plane has gone missing during a flight from Paris to Cairo early Thursday morning.
The airline confirmed on Facebook that Flight MS804 had disappeared from radar.
Maps from FlightRadar24.com show the flight heading out from Charles de Gaulle before vanishing in the Mediterranean during its approach to Egypt.
The plane, said to be carrying 59 passengers and 10 crew, normally arrives in Cairo shortly before 3 a.m. local time, but EgyptAir said that contact was lost with it at 2:45 a.m.
The disappearance comes roughly two months after a man from the Middle Eastern country made international headlines for hijacking an Egypt Air plane by saying he was wearing a suicide vest.
Seif Eldin Mustafa, 58, said he made the vessel stop in Cyprus in an attempt to see his ex-wife on the island.
No one was injured in that incident, and Mustafa is facing extradition back to Egypt
