Zheng He (1371–1433 or 1435), originally named Ma He, was a Hui court eunuch, mariner, explorer, diplomat, and fleet admiral during China's early Ming dynasty. Zheng commanded expeditionary voyages to Southeast Asia, South Asia, Western Asia, and East Africa from 1405 to 1433. His larger ships stretched 400 feet in length (Columbus's Santa Maria, for comparison, was 85 feet). These carried hundreds of sailors on four tiers of decks.
As a favorite of the Yongle Emperor, whose usurpation he assisted, he rose to the top of the imperial hierarchy and served as commander of the southern capital Nanjing (the capital was later moved to Beijing by the Yongle Emperor). These voyages were long neglected in official Chinese histories but have become well known in China and abroad since the publication of Liang Qichao's Biography of Our Homeland's Great Navigator, Zheng He in 1904. A trilingual stele left by the navigator was discovered on the island of Sri Lanka shortly thereafter.
Zheng He was the second son of a family from Kunyang,Yunnan. He was originally born with the name Ma He. His family were Hui people. He had four sisters and one older brother.
Professor Zheng Xiao Guo was born in rural China and has three brothers and two sisters. He left his village to travel to North Eastern University, Shenyang, in 1979, for his undergraduate studies in Materials Science. This interview was originally conducted with Zheng "Weiping" Jack back in September 2014. In it, through the help of his niece acting as our interpreter, we discussed how he got started in the business, how things have changed over the years, the different tiers of swords made and much more. The translation is not word for word but is what his niece Lily translated - but to make it easier to watch I have taken her translation and added subtitles.
So I don't remember how I discovered ZS and YY's drama LOVEO2O, but all I know is that I found out about ZS, YY, and Jing Boran (JB) being on the show Divas Hit the Road. I decided to watch it so I can look for interactions between ZS and YY out of curiosity. Because of their drama, I watched DHTR and decided to collect all of their moments. This is taken from episodes 1-4. I will work on the rest so stay tuned for that! Even though they weren't a couple in the show, I still notice how caring YY is for taking care of ZS. So sweet! He does pay attention to her and he'll help her. I know it's not the best, but I hope you enjoy watching it for those of you who ship ZS and YY together ;) Made with Movie Maker. I don't own this.

Read your free e-book: http://copydl.space/mebk/50/en/B01AY2H0JC/book Our final and main objective is to consider the emergence of the Indian Ocean as the center of 21st century maritime container commerce with Sri Lanka as the hub and Africa becoming an essential vector. We will concentrate on the modern period, the macro-geographic data and situations in and around the Indian Ocean and on one particular aspect: the development of the hub-and-spoke model for the network of maritime connections in, around and beyond the Indian Ocean as for container commerce. We will insist on the hub itself, Sri Lanka, which is presently changing rapidly; on some of the various harbors around the Indian Ocean and their goods transportation inland networks, essentially railroads and highways; the projects ...

The British submarine engineer and historian Gavin Menzies gave an astounding seminar on March 15, 2002 to the Royal Geographical Society in London, with evidence to support his theory that Zheng He, a Chinese Muslim navigator in the Ming dynasty, beat Columbus by more than 70 years in discovering America. Using evidence from maps drawn dated before Columbus’ trip that clearly showed America, and astronomical maps traced back to Zheng He’s time, Menzies is confident that the Zheng He should be honored as the first discoverer of America. Menzies’s conclusion is based on 14 years of research that includes secret maps, evidence of artifacts, and apparent proof of the voyage provided by the modern astronomy software program Starry Night. As key evidence for a voyage that will remake history...
¿Quién era Zheng He?.
Did you know that 85 years before Columbus discovered America, Chinese ships longer than a football field sailed thousands of miles through unknown oceans and visited more than 30 nations? It's true! Adventures of the Treasure Fleet: China Discovers that World is the amazing story of these seven epic voyages and their larger-than-life commander, Admiral Zheng He. Beginning in 1405, Admiral Zheng He led more than 300 gigantic, brightly-painted ships across the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean and all the way to the distant coast of Africa. The admiral and his crew battled pirates and raging storms, and were amazed by the people and ways of life in distant lands. At each port, Chinese goods were traded for pearls, precious stones, herbs and medicines which were given as tribute to China'...
Dr. Adam Smith, Assistant Curator, Asian Section, kicks off the 2013--2014 "Great Lectures" series. This year's theme: Great Voyages. Zheng He, a Muslim-born eunuch, is the most famous of the men that led the spectacular maritime expeditions of the Ming Dynasty, mounted during the early 15th century as an assertion of China's power and prestige among neighboring peoples of Southeast Asia. Dr. Smith discusses Zheng He's seven voyages, which reached beyond Southeast Asia to India, the Middle East, and the east coast of Africa over three decades—half a century before Portuguese navigators reached these same regions via the Cape of Good Hope.
Six hundred years ago, before Columbus sailed to the New World (the Americas) and well before Magellan circumnavigated the Earth, Chinese Emperor Yongle (Zhu Di) of the Ming Dynasty ordered a vast fleet of ships to set sail to the Western Seas (we now call the Indian Ocean) to spread his imperial influence. Zheng He was placed as the admiral in control of the armada and army that undertook the many expeditions. Zheng He was one of the greatest mariners and explorers in history, a great diplomat -- and a true hero.
