Hey everybody, for this video we're putting together a modern take on the drum kit of a legendary drummer, John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. The Zep Set shell pack is made from an amber acrylic that matches Bonham's kit from Led Zeppelin's film The Song Remains the Same. Ludwig's Vistalite acrylic is famous for its huge attack and attention-grabbing looks. These drums are great for hard rock and metal due to their loud and present tone. The Paiste 2002 Bonham 5-piece cymbal set re-creates John Bonham's most popular cymbal setup.

In this video I am demonstrating the Roland V-Drums TD-25KV Electronic Drum Set.
The first thing I have to say about this electronic drum kit is WOW! Roland has really made a great piece of gear with the TD-25KV. The sounds are great and amazingly real, the pads feel really good, and the main user interface is streamlined and very easy to use.
With the TD-25KV you get nine pads, the rack with all of the pad and cymbal mounts, and the TD-25 brain. The only pieces that do not come with the kit are the hi-hat stand, kick drum pedal, and throne. It is worth mentioning here that any standard hi-hat stand and kick drum pedal will work with the TD-25KV. You get two 10" PDX-100 pads for the snare and floor tom, and the two rack tom pads are the 8" PD-85 model. These pads come with Roland's mesh playing surface that is super comfortable to play on. The kick pad is the KD-9 which also has the same mesh surface, only in black, and it feels great like the other pads.
The two crash cymbals are the 12" CY-12's and the ride is a 13" CY-13R. The final piece is the hi-hat which is the VH-11. It is a single pad for the top and a round cylinder that goes onto the hi-hat rod just like a normal bottom cymbal would. The feel of all of the pads are quite amazing. The hi-hat really reacts like an acoustic hi-hat. The Cymbal pads move freely and the sound of the cymbals have been modeled to have all of the qualities of an acoustic cymbal. The snare and tom pads feel great and with Positional Sensing on the snare pad you can play it like an acoustic snare with true acoustic reactions all the way to the edge of the drum and back to the center.
The heartbeat of the whole set up is the TD-25 brain. A compact version of the big brother TD-30, it is small and easy to navigate. There are 18 internal drum kits set up in genres. Simply turn the knob to a particular genre and then push the knob to toggle between the different kits. Every kit in the brain is fully customizable by a simple turn of a few clearly labeled knobs on the top section of the unit. If you change up a kit and don't like what you came up with you can easily get back to the original. One of the best features is the USB compatibility this machine has. You can connect the TD-25 directly to your computer and you can also put MP3's or WAV files onto a USB key and connect that to the TD-25. With the USB key connected you can play along with tracks for practice and you can also record yourself playing on top of those tracks.
If you are looking at getting into an electronic kit that has the pro features from the most high end Roland V-Drum kit, sounds amazing, feels great, and that will work in any live music application, then I encourage you to look at this Roland TD-25KV electronic drum kit. They have really put a lot of amazing technology together to make one truly fun drumming experience.

Ludwig Drums LJR106 5-Pc Junior Drum Kit
I bought this Ludwig Junior kit off Craigslist for $150. I replaced some heads and it sounds great. It has a very full sound. The kick has a surprising thump. This kit will be used for playing on the street/busking. When busking, space is at a minimum so it helps to have the smallest kit possible. Cool thing though is this thing sounds big with a little tuning love. It plays well and I love the sound of the snare.
The only downside is the kick pedal is very cheap. Replace it with a better one but keep the beater off the ludwig pedal. These list for about $399. The cymbals are cheap but it is what it is.

A drum kit, drum set or (archaic) trap set is a collection of drums and other percussion instruments set up to be played by a single player.
More specifically, a modern drum kit (for a right handed player), as used in popular music, taught in many music schools, and for which qualifications are available from Trinity College London consists of:
A drum kit is normally played seated on a drum stool or throne.
Most drummers extend their kits from this basic pattern, adding more drums, more cymbals, and many other instruments. In some styles of music particular extensions are normal, for example double bass drums in heavy metal music. On the other extreme but more rarely, some performers omit elements from even the basic setup, again particularly for particular styles of music.
The first recognizable ancestors of the modern drum kit were born in the Vaudeville era. Pecuniary and theater space considerations demanded that fewer percussionists covered more percussion parts. In military and orchestral music settings, drums and cymbals were traditionally played separately by one or many percussionists. The bass drum, snare drum, cymbals and other percussion instruments were all played using hand-held drum sticks. Circa 1890, experimentation with foot pedals began. Many patented their systems such as Dee Dee Chandler of New Orleans 1904-05. Liberating the hands for the first time, this evolution saw the bass drum played (first standing) with the foot of a percussionist and became the central piece around which every other percussion instruments would later revolve. Ludwig-Musser, William F. Ludwig Senior and his brother Theodor Ludwig founded the Ludwig & Ludwig Co. in 1909 and patented the first workable bass drum pedal system, paving the way for what was to become the modern drum kit.

The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments, which is technically classified as the membranophones. Drums consist of at least one membrane, called a drumhead or drum skin, that is stretched over a shell and struck, either directly with the player's hands, or with a drum stick, to produce sound. There is usually a "resonance head" on the underside of the drum, these are usually tuned to a slightly lower pitch than the top drumhead. Other techniques have been used to cause drums to make sound, such as the thumb roll. Drums are the world's oldest and most ubiquitous musical instruments, and the basic design has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years.
All types of drums such as timpani for example are always tuned to a certain pitch. Often, several drums, other than timpani drums, can be arranged together to create a drum kit.
Drums are usually played by the hand, or by one or two sticks. In many traditional cultures drums have a symbolic function and are often used in religious ceremonies. Drums are often used in music therapy, especially hand drums, because of their tactile nature and easy use by a wide variety of people.

Ludwig Drums LJR106 5-Pc Junior Drum Kit I bought this Ludwig Junior kit off Craigslist for $150. I replaced some heads and it sounds great. It has a very full sound. The kick has a surprising thump. This kit will be used for playing on the street/busking. When busking, space is at a minimum so it helps to have the smallest kit possible. Cool thing though is this thing sounds big with a little tuning love. It plays well and I love the sound of the snare. The only downside is the kick pedal is very cheap. Replace it with a better one but keep the beater off the ludwig pedal. These list for about $399. In this video I am demonstrating the Roland V-Drums TD-25KV Electronic Drum Set.
The first thing I have to say about this electronic drum kit is WOW! Roland has really made a great piece of gear with the TD-25KV. The sounds are great and amazingly real, the pads feel really good, and the main user interface is streamlined and very easy to use.
With the TD-25KV you get nine pads, the rack with all of the pad and cymbal mounts, and the TD-25 brain. The only pieces that do not come with the kit are the hi-hat stand, kick drum pedal, and throne. It is worth mentioning here that any standard hi-hat stand and kick drum pedal will work with the TD-25KV. You get two 10" PDX-100 pads for the snare and floor tom, and the two rack tom pads are the 8" PD-85 model. These pads come with Roland's mesh playing surface that is super comfortable to play on. The kick pad is the KD-9 which also has the same mesh surface, only in black, and it feels great like the other pads.
The two crash cymbals are the 12" CY-12's and the ride is a 13" CY-13R. The final piece is the hi-hat which is the VH-11. It is a single pad for the top and a round cylinder that goes onto the hi-hat rod just like a normal bottom cymbal would. The feel of all of the pads are quite amazing. The hi-hat really reacts like an acoustic hi-hat. The Cymbal pads move freely and the sound of the cymbals have been modeled to have all of the qualities of an acoustic cymbal. The snare and tom pads feel great and with Positional Sensing on the snare pad you can play it like an acoustic snare with true acoustic reactions all the way to the edge of the drum and back to the center.
The heartbeat of the whole set up is the TD-25 brain. A compact version of the big brother TD-30, it is small and easy to navigate. There are 18 internal drum kits set up in genres. Simply turn the knob to a particular genre and then push the knob to toggle between the different kits. Every kit in the brain is fully customizable by a simple turn of a few clearly labeled knobs on the top section of the unit. If you change up a kit and don't like what you came up with you can easily get back to the original. One of the best features is the USB compatibility this machine has. You can connect the TD-25 directly to your computer and you can also put MP3's or WAV files onto a USB key and connect that to the TD-25. With the USB key connected you can play along with tracks for practice and you can also record yourself playing on top of those tracks.

In this video I am demonstrating the Roland V-Drums TD-25KV Electronic Drum Set.
The first thing I have to say about this electronic drum kit is WOW! Roland has really made a great piece of gear with the TD-25KV. The sounds are great and amazingly real, the pads feel really good, and the main user interface is streamlined and very easy to use.
With the TD-25KV you get nine pads, the rack with all of the pad and cymbal mounts, and the TD-25 brain. The only pieces that do not come with the kit are the hi-hat stand, kick drum pedal, and throne. It is worth mentioning here that any standard hi-hat stand and kick drum pedal will work with the TD-25KV. You get two 10" PDX-100 pads for the snare and floor tom, and the two rack tom pads are the 8" PD-85 model. These pads come with Roland's mesh playing surface that is super comfortable to play on. The kick pad is the KD-9 which also has the same mesh surface, only in black, and it feels great like the other pads.
The two crash cymbals are the 12" CY-12's and the ride is a 13" CY-13R. The final piece is the hi-hat which is the VH-11. It is a single pad for the top and a round cylinder that goes onto the hi-hat rod just like a normal bottom cymbal would. The feel of all of the pads are quite amazing. The hi-hat really reacts like an acoustic hi-hat. The Cymbal pads move freely and the sound of the cymbals have been modeled to have all of the qualities of an acoustic cymbal. The snare and tom pads feel great and with Positional Sensing on the snare pad you can play it like an acoustic snare with true acoustic reactions all the way to the edge of the drum and back to the center.
The heartbeat of the whole set up is the TD-25 brain. A compact version of the big brother TD-30, it is small and easy to navigate. There are 18 internal drum kits set up in genres. Simply turn the knob to a particular genre and then push the knob to toggle between the different kits. Every kit in the brain is fully customizable by a simple turn of a few clearly labeled knobs on the top section of the unit. If you change up a kit and don't like what you came up with you can easily get back to the original. One of the best features is the USB compatibility this machine has. You can connect the TD-25 directly to your computer and you can also put MP3's or WAV files onto a USB key and connect that to the TD-25. With the USB key connected you can play along with tracks for practice and you can also record yourself playing on top of those tracks.

Ludwig Drums LJR106 5-Pc Junior Drum Kit
I bought this Ludwig Junior kit off Craigslist for $150. I replaced some heads and it sounds great. It has a very full sound. The kick has a surprising thump. This kit will be used for playing on the street/busking. When busking, space is at a minimum so it helps to have the smallest kit possible. Cool thing though is this thing sounds big with a little tuning love. It plays well and I love the sound of the snare.
The only downside is the kick pedal is very cheap. Replace it with a better one but keep the beater off the ludwig pedal. These list for about $399. The cymbals are cheap but it is what it is.
