Communiqué è stato registrato tra il Novembre ed il Dicembre del 1978 presso i Compass Point Studios di Nassau e prodotto da Jerry Wexler e Barry Beckett. L'album fu il primo LP ad esser mai entrato nelle classifiche tedesche al numero uno nella sua prima settimana di uscita (mentre il loro album d'esordio Dire Straits era ancora alla posizione numero 3 in quel paese). Communiqué ha venduto oltre 7 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo. Nella sola Europa ha venduto 3.6 milioni di copie e negli USA ha conquistato il disco d'oro.
Il disco è stato rimasterizzato e pubblicato con l'intero catalogo dei Dire Sttraits nel 1996 per il mercato mondiale esclusi gli USA. Il 19 Settembre 2000 fu pubblicato anche per il mercato americano. La copertina del disco fu realizzata da un'agenzia pubblicitaria che lavorava per la Phonogram, la Grant Advertising UK. La copertina vinse il premio NME del 1979 come miglior copertina dell'anno.

Communiqué is the second album by British rock band Dire Straits.
Communiqué was recorded in November and December 1978, at Compass Point Studios, Nassau and was produced by Jerry Wexler and Barry Beckett. The album became the first LP ever to enter the German charts at number 1 in its first week of release (while their debut LP Dire Straits was still at number 3 in that country). Communiqué went on to sell over 7 million copies worldwide; in Europe, it sold 3.6 million copies and in the U.S. it reached gold status.
It was remastered and released with the rest of the Dire Straits catalogue in 1996 for most of the world outside the U.S. and on 19 September 2000 in the United States.
The album cover was designed by Phonogram's advertising agency Grant Advertising UK. It won album cover of the year in the NME awards in 1979.

What is 432 Hz tuning?
A=432 Hz, known as Verdi's 'A' is an alternative tuning that is mathematically consistent with the universe. Music based on 432Hz transmits beneficial healing energy, because it is a pure tone of math fundamental to nature (as 528 Hz is).

According to Brain T. Collins, a musician and researcher, the standard pitch (A=440 Hz) does not harmonize on any level that corresponds to cosmic movement, rhythm, or natural vibration. The greatest musicians, such as Mozart and Verdi, based their music on the natural vibration of A=432. It's true that 432 Hz is only 8 vibrations per second different from the standard tuning, but this small difference seems to be remarkable to our human consciousness.
There's a growing musical and metaphysical movement for recovering optimal integrity in the music industry and spirituality through the 432 Hz tuning. In April 2008 Dutch journalist Richard Huisken founded the 'back to 432 Hz' committee, claiming that this original tuning was used in ancient cultures and is found on antique instruments like the Stradivarius violin.
What are the benefits of 432 Hz?
According to Richard Huisken, music tuned to 432 Hz is softer and brighter, giving greater clarity and is easier on the ears. Many people experience more meditative and relaxing states of body and mind when listening to such music. The natural musical pitch of the universe gives a more harmonic and pleasant sound than 440 Hz.
432 Hz seems to work at the heart chakra, "the feeling", and therefore could have a good influence on the spiritual development of the listener. Some people who are not able to distinguish the 8hz difference claim they can feel the music warmer due to the longer wavelength.

Communiqué ha venduto oltre 7 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo. Nella sola Europa ha venduto 3.6 milioni di copie e negli USA ha conquistato il disco d'oro.
Il disco è stato rimasterizzato e pubblicato con l'intero catalogo dei Dire Sttraits nel 1996 per il mercato mondiale esclusi gli USA. Bocary Treta, pour s’expliquer, séance tenante et sur la place publique, sur une information recuite à souhait, aux relents de rumeur pernicieuse, parue dans le journal « L’Observateur » du Sénégal.
