HC notice to govt over kids' trafficking
TNN | Jun 2, 2016, 06.05 AM ISTJaipur: Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the government over alleged trafficking of minor children from Kota on Wednesday.
The division bench of Chief Justice Navin Sinha and Justice Ajay Rastogi issued notice to the principal secretary (Home), director general of police, and inspector general of Kota and superintendent of police, Kota, on a petition by Prahlad Singh Chadha.
The petition said in the last 10 years (2005 to 2015), 823 cases of minors (both girls and boys) missing cases were reported in the three police stations of Kota city. These police stations are Dadawadi registered 400 cases, Gumanpura (326) and Jawahar Nagar (97).
The counsel for the petitioner Kuldeep Aswal said these kids are victims of human trafficking and police are in connivance with the gang engaged in trafficking of humans. TNNThe petitioner said most of the victims of human trafficking are from the weaker sections and the police takes no interest in searching for the missing persons. The petitioner pleaded to seek a reply from the government on the measures taken to stop human trafficking. The court directed the state advocate general to file a detailed reply within four weeks.
