Hello, voyagers! This is the very first song I ever wrote in my life, and
I've just now got around to recording it.
It's also the first time I've ever tried any sort of studio arrangement in a song, so I'm curious to hear your reactions.
Not to mention, this is ALSO the first time I've recorded a song that's not about a
TV show I like -- we're full of firsts here at
Pilgrim Music today. As always, lyrics are here in the description as well as the vid itself.
Stay creepy!
Grave Robber
By Pilgrim
When I was a little boy, my dad had a plan
He said, go off to college and they’ll make you a man
But for some reason, that didn’t sit right with me
I passed a cemetery where they’d buried a cask
I got myself a shovel and a black ski mask
Because I knew then what I wanted to be
I’d never feel as comfortable in top hat, coat, and tails
I’d rather get dirt in my ears and blood under my nails
They’ll never find a place for me in high society
I’m doing what I love to do, I’d really rather be
A grave robber!
Oh, a grave robber!
Ooh, a grave robber!
Whoa!
My partner’s name is
Ernie, he’s a hunchback from
Queens
He’s not a chatty
Cathy, but he says what he means
He does what I tell him to do, and doesn’t ask why
At the end of every night he takes his share of the loot
And several feet of skin because he’s making a suit
That might seem strange to you, but he’s that kind of guy
We’d never feel as comfortable in top hat, coat, and tails
We’d rather get dirt in my ears and blood under my nails
They’ll never find a place for us in high society
We’re doing what we love to do, you know we’d rather be
Grave robbers!
Oh, grave robbers!
Ooh, grave robbers!
Yeah, we’re grave robbers,
Whoo!
