Craniofacial Duplication Also known as diprosopus, this rare congenital disorder is a lot like what the name indicates. Parts or all of the face are duplicated on the head. Most human infants born with the condition are stillborn, and newborns with diprosopus rarely last longer than hours past birth. The most famous case came from Delhi, India and involved infant Lali Singh. Born on March 10, 2008, Singh had two pairs of eyes, two noses, two mouths, and two (the usual amount) ears. Seen as a reincarnation of the goddess Durga Singh’s parents denied doctors offers to evaluate their daughter. After a short time, Lali began to vomit and experience infections. Spatial Orientation Phenomenon This term was used to diagnose a malady experienced by Bojana Danilovic, a young Serbian woman who sees visual information in an upside down image. Several outlets reported the unique condition in 2013. Her malady doesn’t mean she processes everything upside down. She sees people regularly but visualizes words in a book or on a computer screen as being inverted. At work, she uses a special screen on her computer, and at home, she has her own TV to watch. Besides that, she just reads everything upside down, which probably causes a lot of confusion in public. The phenomenon was very cumbersome for Danilovic while she was a child trying to get an education, but it seems that she has adjusted well as an adult, though she can’t get a driver's license. 4. Walking Dead Syndrome It’s usually called Cotard’s Syndrome, but given what the condition is, liberties were taken with the title of the topic. Sufferers of the rare malady genuinely believe that they are dead or have lost their sole. Some think that they no longer have certain organs or body parts. Former military surgeon and psychiatrist Jules Cotard first described the syndrome in 1880, and a handful of cases have been reported over the ensuing years. This can lead to odd cravings that are simply the person’s body trying to replenish the missing nutrient. The most famous case of pica came from a patient from St. Joseph’s State Lunatic Asylum Number 2. The lunatic had 1446 nonfood items in their stomach.
