INTERCOLLEGIATE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROJECT (
SIP) PRESENTATION HELD

Association (
VIA) in collaboration with
Central Institute of Business Management Research & Development (CIBMRD) and
National Human Resource Development Network (NHRD) conducted an Intercollegiate
Summer Internship Presentation Competition 2015 on
20th Oct 2015 at VIA.
Summer Internship
Project is a crucial and mandatory activity for all b-schools, wherein students have to undergo an internship for a period of at least 45 days in any organization to gain practical work experience. The main focus of organizing this competition was to facilitate a common platform for all management students of
Nagpur to share their learning experience during their summer internship.
The competition began on a formal note by a brief introductory welcome speech by CA Girish Deodhar, Chairman VIA, emphasized the need of exploring all avenues to make
MBA students employable and job ready. He addressed students by saying that both expression & impression is needed for an effective communication. The students were motivated to express as well as impress the judges & the audience
while they present their Internship project.
Subsequently,
Prof.
Valerie Francis, Head-Summer Internship Project, CIBMRD took the podium to welcome the gathering, a large part of which were the students and faculties of MBA colleges, besides the invited guests.
The Judges for the competition were the eminent personalities of their field, namely,
Shri.
S.D. Bhave, Shri.
Vivek Nagbhire & CA Hemant Lodha. They were accorded a ritualistic welcome by
offering floral bouquet as a token of appreciation for their participation.
Later, she briefly explained the rules and evaluation parameters of the presentation competition and declared the competition open.
The shortlisted students of the top 6 renowned MBA colleges of Nagpur have participated in the competition. Presentations were categorized into three main managerial areas namely,
Human Resource Management,
Marketing Management &
Financial Management. The judge’s questions were the real challenge for the participants. The most wonderful moment of the event was when participants with great enthusiasm, were sharing their internship experience and at the same time
Judges were giving their valuable inputs to them, which has truly solved the purpose of the organizers.
After the presentations are over, Shri S.D. Bhave addressed students by notifying where they went wrong and how they should improve and work hard on their project content. Later, Shri. Vivek Nagbhire expressed his observations of the participant’s attire and spoke about their presentation skills.
Subsequently, CA Hemant Lodha talked about developing the analytical ability in tomorrow’s managers for taking effective managerial decisions in future.
Meanwhile, the results of the competition were evaluated. The most awaited moment of the event came, the organizers declared the winners of the competition in each category. Ms. Namita Sahare, student of Tirpude
College received “
Best presentation“
Trophy & Ms. Shweta Zhizilwar student of S.B
Jain College received “Runner-up” Trophy in HR category. Mr.
Praveen Bhagmar student of CIBMRD College received “Best presentation “Trophy and Ms. Pranita Dhole, student of
NIT College got “Runner-up” Trophy in
Finance category. Mr.
Ashutosh Dayma student of CIBMRD College received “Best presentation “Trophy and Ms.
Nikita Bansole got “Runner- up” Trophy in marketing category. Due to amazing performance of all participants, S.B Jain
College of management bagged the “Best College
Award”.
The Winners received awards from the hands of Mr. Atul Pande,
President VIA, who congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all the participants.
Concluding the competition proceedings, Mr.
Ashit Sinha, Vice-President, VIA enlightened participants about how they should use cosmetics in their power
point presentations to make it look more professional and effective. He concluded his heartfelt talk by offering a vote of thanks to the organizers and the distinguished guests. CA Girish Deodhar, Dr. Amishi Arora,
Director CIBMRD, Prof. Valerie Francis and other members associated with CIBMRD & VIA put in their useful contribution in making this event a great success.
