Patrik Laine is projected to be a top two draft pick at this years NHL Draft at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, but what if the Finnish phenom didn't play right wing? Better yet, what if Laine didn't even play out of the net, and frew up playing the goaltender position? We probably wouldn't be talking about him possibly being drafted in this years NHL Draft at all. And according to Laine, there was a very good chance of that happening.

In an interview with NHL.com Staff Writer Mike G. Morreale, Laine talks about how if it weren't for his dad, he would have been a goalie:

There's no saying Laine wouldn't have also been an NHL caliber goalie, but the chances are quite slight.

See the entire 5 things you should know about Patrik Laine article on NHL.com for an entertaining read providing even more insight on the NHL Draft prospect.

Happy National Donut Day everyone!

This is truly a day to celebrate. One where no matter what diet, workout regimen or other food-restrictive life choice you’re participating in, you can indulge in one of these delicious treats. It’s like a national cheat day.

The only thing that could make this day better is if we could take a trip down to our favourite fictional donut shop, Stan Mikita’s Donuts.

Mini Cup takes visit to aquarium, goes scuba diving in a shark tank

By BarDown Staff (@BarDown) Jun. 3, 2016 2:52 PM

The Pittsburgh Penguins took Game 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup, but the series heads to San Jose where the Sharks will look to climb back into the series. When the series was in Pittsburgh, real-life penguins celebrated the series lead with a mini-Stanley Cup, and now that same mini-Stanley Cup is in Shark territory.

If you've always wanted to know what the Stanley Cup would look like scuba diving with Sharks, here's your chance!

If the Sharks win the Stanley Cup, they should take the real Cup scuba diving in a Shark tank with the whole team... before they all shave their beards off of course. Now that's something we would love to see!

Man eats a dozen donuts in 45 seconds, deserves all our respect

By BarDown Staff (@BarDown) Jun. 3, 2016 2:03 PM

In honour of Friday being National Donut Day, we at BarDown went on a journey across the Internet to find the greatest donut eater of them all. It's incredibly easy to find the best hot dog eater, since the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest occurs each year, but eating donuts in a record time is more rare.

Well, if there were yearly competitions in donut eating, we think we've found the champion. This fellow goes by the name of Furious Pete, and we can confirm he is absolutely a furious donut eater. Watch him scarf down a dozen donuts in 45 seconds flat.

And you ate a dozen donuts? How'd you do that?

Well, start panicking, because that might be happening too. TSN correspondent, Rick Westhead, tweeted this out after news broke that the World Cup of Hockey would be using Jersey ads:

Some fans are more worried than others, in fact, some fans have taken to creating their own proposals for the changes. We’ve seen the redesigned NHL jerseys, but now, Instagram user @hjddesign, has created hilarious versions of what the logo and sponsor should be for each World Cup team.

Here are some of our favourites.

By BarDown Staff (@BarDown) Jun. 3, 2016 11:40 AM

A lot of people hate on singer and songwriter Justin Bieber, but there's no denying the 22-year-old has one of the cooler life's. Just last weekend Bieber celebrated the Monaco Grand Prix by popping champagne with Lewis Hamilton, and now he's casually playing keep-up with Brazilian soccer star Neymar.

Not only is Bieber having the opportunity to play keep-up with Neymar, the singer actually holds his own with the soccer star. It's actually pretty impressive.
