Hitting in the NFL | The Old NFL vs. the New NFL

I'm a diehard lifelong NFL fan with an extremely strong opinion towards what the NFL currently is and where the NFL is going in the future. I became obsessed with football at an extremely young age. The thing that attracted me to it more than anything was the violence of the game. The big hits and the tough violent football was what I loved watching. As a player it was a release for me. All the anger and frustration I had built up inside me could be released on the football field. I was taught to channel that anger and go knock somebody out once I strapped up the helmet. Sadly this has changed. Due to the concussion lawsuits, these past 10 years have seen fans watching an increasingly lower amount of big hits and violence in the NFL. People want to make this game safer, the NFL wants to protect its claims and ensure people that it will become safer, seen though they were caught not telling former players of the danger. I just don't understand why the NFL is trying to make the game safer? I don't understand why they need to change it? I get it, what the NFL did in the past to it's players was wrong, whether they lied or not they should have told players the dangers they could face in the future. I feel sorry for former players with CTE issues, these former players may have thought the game was totally safe. The difference between the former players and the current players is that the current players are fully aware of the dangers and consequences the game may have on them in the future, just like a boxer knows he is pretty much guaranteed to have brain damage. Since the current players know, the public as a whole now knows the dangers of the game, why are they changing it? There is no need to take away the violence. It's so simple. If you don't like football, if you think its barbaric... DON"T PLAY! Don't let your kids play, become a golfer instead. Don't watch it, don't play. It's what the players trade in. They make big bucks to play. You want to be a famous football player and make millions of dollars, ok well here's the consequences you MIGHT face in the future. Its what these players trade in at a young age. Them changing the game is doing nothing but ruining the flow of a game, ruining real defense, awarding offenses for what should be considered a fantastic play by a defender, making for a worse brand of football, and tainting the integrity of the game. What the NFL puts out onto the field now isn't real football, the quality is far worse from what it used to be. I just simply wish that the NFL wouldn't comply to all the politically correct people of this world and would keep the game the way it used to be. Violent, hard hitting football. if you don't agree with me I find you lost. real football fans know the brand today isn't as good. I just hope it changes back someday.
