Healdsburg is a city located in Sonoma County, California, in the United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city had a population of 11,254. Healdsburg is a commercial center for northern Sonoma County as well as being one of Northern California's wine capitals: three of the most important wine-producing regions (the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley AVAs) meet in Healdsburg.
Healdsburg is centered on a 19th century plaza that provides an important focal point for tourists and locals alike.
Early inhabitants of the local area included the Pomo people, who constructed villages in open areas along the Russian River.European settlement commenced in the mid-19th century, with the first Anglo-American settlement nearby established downstream along the Russian River near Graton in 1836.
In 1857, Harmon Heald, an Ohio businessman who had been squatting on Rancho Sotoyome since 1850, purchased part of the rancho—giving the city its official founding date. In 1867, Heald’s eponymous small town was incorporated. Healdsburg is located within the former township of Mendocino. The San Francisco and North Pacific Railroad reached Healdsburg in 1872.

The Healdsburg Guitar Festival brings builders, dealers, artists, and players from all around the world to Santa Rosa, CA. http://guitarfestival.lmii.com/ This year Rick Ruskin stayed with us during the festival and I joined him for the opening Friday. This video gives an impression of the show - basically it's overwhelming and this was early in the day before the crowd really arrived. The number and quality of guitars on display left me reeling. Workshops cover every aspect of acoustic guitar, while superb artists put on shows and demonstrations in different locations around the site. I wandered through the two main exhibition rooms and the accessory hallway, took a few moments to visit with friends, shot a few clips of just a few of the guitars that caught my eye, sat in on a demo and ... -

I wandered through the two main exhibition rooms and the accessory hallway, took a few moments to visit with friends, shot a few clips of just a few of the guitars that caught my eye, sat in on a demo and a concert, then Rick and I headed home for the day.
It's great to catch up with guitar buddies, there are several folks I only meet every other year when they land at the HGF. There were parties on Friday, there will be more events tonight all around the area, and the show will continue tomorrow with streams of guitar fans visiting.
All the video was shot on my Lumix GH3. Audio is DI from my Yamamoto OMY with Baggs Lyric pickup into the Zoom H6 recorder. Editing in Edius 6.5.
