William McKinley Hutchison (December 6, 1944 – September 19, 2005), better known as Willie Hutch, was an American singer, songwriter as well as a record producer and recording artist for the Motown record label during the 1970s and 1980s.
Born in 1944 in Los Angeles, Hutch was raised in Dallas, Texas. He joined a doo-wop group, The Ambassadors, as a teenager. After graduating from Booker T. Washington High, he shortened his surname when he started his music career in 1964 on the Soul City label with the song "Love Has Put Me Down".
After his move to Los Angeles, his music caught the eye of the mentor for pop/soul quintet The 5th Dimension, and Hutch was soon writing, producing, and arranging songs for the group. In 1969, he signed with RCA Records and put out two albums before he was spotted by Motown producer Hal Davis, who wanted lyrics to his musical composition "I'll Be There", a song he penned for The Jackson 5. The song was recorded by the group the morning after Hutch received the call. Motown CEO Berry Gordy signed Hutch to be a staff writer, arranger, producer, and musician shortly thereafter.

Brother's Gonna Work It Out - Willie Hutch from soundtrack album "THE MACK" in 1973
Willie Hutch was a Soul legend who went on to be a major prolific Motown recording artist and songwriter. He had never appeared in England until finally, in 2003, he performed at the Togetherness weekender in Fleetwood, and Ralph Tee and myself did a deal to film his concert and tell his life story. Whilst he was here, and not wanting to miss such a wonderful opportunity, we did a new recording of his legendary Soul classic "Love Runs Out', which, to my mind, was the most authentic re-recording we've ever done. Then we spent ages up in Morecambe filming a video for it. Tragically he died shortly after, so this is probably his last ever performance, and we're so lucky it's captured on video for posterity.

From RCA's (1970) Seasons For Love, Arranged by Perry Botkin Jr. and Produced by John Florez Prior to this album Willie Hutch had ween working as a songwriter/producer for The Fifth Dimension. His manager in 1970 was J.W. Alexander who had also managed Sam Cooke in the early 1960's and also wrote the sleeve notes for this album. He compares Willie to Sam Cooke & Nat King Cole. His second album for RCA, Season For Love also contains a popular Modern soul classic Let's Try It Over, that also came out as a single. Gaining value on the vinyl market at the moment is todays spin: When A Boy Falls In Love. A little ditty that is now picking up a few plays even though it as a long introduction (but it's worth the wait). lso the stepper fans will enjoy his version of The Twelfth Of never and m...

http://www.youngandreckless.com Young & Reckless recently teamed up with Mississippi native Big K.R.I.T. for a lifestyle shoot in Los Angeles. The self-proclaimed King of the South explains how his earliest musical influences like Willie Hutch, Al Green, Bobby Womack, and Curtis Mayfield contribute to his soulful style. Also paying homage to UGK, Outkast, MJG, and Scarface, K.R.I.T.'s aim is to make music that doesn't fit in a genre but brings something out of you. From taking time to listen to tracks from fans to making thought provoking music to inspire the youth, K.R.I.T. is bringing the soul back to hip hop.

DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF LUIS PADILLA & DAVID 'TOPO' TISCARENO I've been a huge fan of Lowriders since I was a little boy so getting the chance to shoot this film was a dream come true. Shot in a couple of hours one evening with the De Alba family the film takes a brief look at their cars, a blue '64 Impala street hopper and a '63 Impala named 'El Rey', one of the most incredible cars I've ever seen. A special thanks to Brian Goude from Grinder TV who introduced us to the De Alba Family. Albert De Alba would like to thank the following people: 'Special Thanks to: God, My wife Lorraine, Sons Young Al & Andrew, My Moms, Pops, & Brothers, Beto Rocha & Fam, Cal Blast, Mario's Auto Works, Hoppo's Custom Suspension, ELITE Car Club, Grinder TV, & Stephen Brooks' Music : Willie Hutch - I C...
Memories light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we?
Could we?
Memories may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
