In this video we see one of the collection vehicles used in another regional area I visited back in 2012, found just outside the ACT in the southern tablelands of NSW. Yass Valley Council handles waste services with their own staff and trucks, including two side loaders for residential and a single rear loader for litter bins and commercial collections. I swung past the council yard one Monday afternoon and spotted only the tailgates of two big bodied side loaders inside a shed, returning later that week to see exactly what pair of equipment they ran for domestic operations. Whether or not they still work today I’m not sure, but back then Yass Valley operated a couple of Iveco one armers featuring 29m MacDonald Johnston compactors.
Like other neighbouring councils, Yass is only a smaller area being serviced by a limited fleet, attracting an irregular collection schedule which sees trucks visiting houses more than one day a week. In Yass’ case recycling is picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays in the due fortnightly zones, while garbage is collected weekly from all properties on either Wed, Thu or Fri. There is the main urban centre of Yass itself, but there is also the locality of Murrumbateman and various other small estates and villages scattered throughout the council which see trucks visiting twice each fortnight. In this region of southern/inland NSW there are quite a few councils which rely on only one or two trucks for waste services, pretty sweet if you ask me!
After videoing the lone collection vehicle previously used in Boorowa, I shot to Yass still early on this Friday morning to find the shown truck doing the garbage rounds. I was told that only the single truck does Fridays as the work is very condensed and right beside the council depot and transfer station. As for the 29m bodies used for garbage, I imagine a versatility factor comes into play for recycling, allowing material to be collected in single loads to reduce transport burdens to the regional MRF. I reckon it’s cool seeing a regional council running a pair of big trucks instead of a small or medium size, love the tinted windows as well, overall a very clean and presentable truck for a plain white machine. Thanks to the professional operator for letting me follow along on his easy going run.

Yass Valley Council
Yass Valley Council is a local government area in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Hume and Barton Highways and the Main Southern railway line.
The Shire includes Yass, Binalong, Bookham, Bowning, Gundaroo, Murrumbateman, Sutton, Wee Jasper and Brindabella.
Yass Shire was proclaimed on 1 January 1980 following the amalgamation of Goodradigbee Shire and the Municipality of Yass. Yass Shire in turn was dissolved and merged into the Yass Valley Council on 11 February 2004, following a further amalgamation of Yass Shire and parts of Gunning and Yarrowlumla Shires.
The Mayor of Yass Valley Council is Cr. Rowena Abbey, an independent politician.
Demographics
Population: On census night, 7 August 2001, there were 9,675 people (4,825 males and 4,850 females) counted in Yass. This represents an increase of 6.4% since the 1996 Census, and an increase of 10.6% since the 1991 Census. Of those people counted on Census Night, 95.7% were counted at home. Yass Shire has an area of 3298 square kilometres, giving a population density of 2.9 people per square kilometre.

Valley
A valley is a low area between hills, often with a river running through it.
In geology, a valley or dale is a depression that is longer than it is wide. The terms U-shaped and V-shaped are descriptive terms of geography to characterize the form of valleys. Most valleys belong to one of these two main types or a mixture of them, (at least) with respect to the cross section of the slopes or hillsides.
Valley terminology
A valley in its broadest geographic sense is also known as a dale. A valley through which a river runs may also be referred to as a vale. A small, secluded, and often wooded valley is known as a dell or in Scotland as a glen. A wide, flat valley through which a river runs is known in Scotland as a strath. A mountain cove is a small valley, closed at one or both ends, in the central or southern Appalachian Mountains which sometimes results from the erosion of a geologic window. A small valley surrounded by mountains or ridges is sometimes known as a hollow. A deep, narrow valley is known as a cwm (also spelled combe or coombe). Similar geological structures, such as canyons, ravines, gorges, gullies, and kloofs, are not usually referred to as valleys. See also: "chine". A valley formed by erosion is called an erosional valley; a valley formed by geologic events such as drop faults or the rise of highlands is called a structural valley.

In this video we see one of the collection vehicles used in another regional area I visited back in 2012, found just outside the ACT in the southern tablelands of NSW. Yass Valley Council handles waste services with their own staff and trucks, including two side loaders for residential and a single rear loader for litter bins and commercial collections. In Yass’ case recycling is picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays in the due fortnightly zones, while garbage is collected weekly from all properties on either Wed, Thu or Fri. There is the main urban centre of Yass itself, but there is also the locality of Murrumbateman and various other small estates and villages scattered throughout the council which see trucks visiting twice each fortnight. In this region of southern/inland NSW there are quite a few councils which rely on only one or two trucks for waste services, pretty sweet if you ask me!
After videoing the lone collection vehicle previously used in Boorowa, I shot to Yass still early on this Friday morning to find the shown truck doing the garbage rounds. I was told that only the single truck does Fridays as the work is very condensed and right beside the council depot and transfer station. As for the 29m bodies used for garbage, I imagine a versatility factor comes into play for recycling, allowing material to be collected in single loads to reduce transport burdens to the regional MRF. I reckon it’s cool seeing a regional council running a pair of big trucks instead of a small or medium size, love the tinted windows as well, overall a very clean and presentable truck for a plain white machine. Thanks to the professional operator for letting me follow along on his easy going run.

I also learned a lot here..Im very happy. So after all, I'm just sharing my thoughts of my experience... to maybe help for people to think or feel when a situation may arrive to their hand, and don't understand the signs quite well...like I did. We live in a very exposed era...so awareness is very important, and for awareness you have to experience a lot and that raises up your vibration of consciousness... to shine as a wise warrior observing your own life and others around you...
